  1. Nice work! Fleet trucks have always been my favorite, IMO, little to no chrome somehow always looks better. I wish AMT trucks came with wheel options, but luckily there are vendors like AITM which offer great 2 hand hole wheels which I believe CF used in the 70's thru mid 90's.
  2. Appears to be a photo a current truck in the Hostess delivery fleet transposed on to the actual box they will probably use. 100% certain the vehicle in photo will change, however no excuse for still calling this a C 600!
  3. Nice work! The engine looks right at home in a Jimmy.
  4. Flaresides did not come with side moldings for obvious reasons.
  5. At this point, I'm assuming this Flareside kit automatically has molded in cab side moldings, not optional, separate, added on cab side moldings?
  6. I see 3 different engine displacements for Cummins up to the mid 60's, the 672, 743 and 855 cu in. It appears the horizontal was only available in the 743 cu in version. This is the version with the external fuel lines. Interesting foot note is the 220 hp was available in the 743 block NH220 and the 855 block NHE220.
  7. The IVO truck has the same wheels IMC originally put on the box cover of the L 700. The ALF wheels are a good choice on the Dodge.
  8. Corrected 359 fenders that actually roll down to the bumper!
  9. No that the release date comes closer, a few more reference details are in order. In 1966 Ford standardize engine colors in cars and pickups for all engines Ford Blue. However, before this, engine colors were different depending on engine. In 1965, the 352 V8 in pickups was all black except for gold valve covers and the 240-300 6 from my research was all black.
  10. This is a great example of wheels that are available in die cast , but never covered by big plastic or resin. Sergey, those specific wheels shown in photo are 3 piece 18" wheels used from the late 40's to late 60's Chevy GMC 1 ton trucks. Diecasts out of boxes with some damage make cheap donors for parts. Not mine..https://www.ebay.com/itm/AMERICAN-MINT-WELLY-PREMIUM-1953-CHEVROLET-TOW-TRUCK-1-24TH-SCALE-IN-BOX/153310194246?epid=670814517&hash=item23b1ffea46:g:o-QAAOSwoDFcGojU:rk:2:pf:0
  11. Thanks for posting the article, good reading. 8' campers were getting heavier and heavier to where a 3/4 tons became overloaded, and tail heavy, not good. The big deal about the Super Camper Special is that it was the first 1 ton pickup Ford built with an 8' bed ( with standard 2 door cab). Before this, Ford 1 ton pickups came with 9' beds, not very popular camper sizes. A 1 ton Ford pickup with 8' bed was available before '73, but you needed to special order it as a crew cab only. I agree on the engines, required minimum was 360, with 390 or as 460 options .'77 -'79 351M 400M 460. The Firestone kit is a Frankenstein, something that never existed in 1:1. We need the MAD conversion beds ( don't know if there is a 6 1/2 available with the 8' ) to build any sort of Styleside '73-'79 4x4.
  12. Correct. There were be a few modifications to the intake and exhaust system, but I'm sure it will be no big deal for you. The NHC 250 is a non turbo, so the exhaust needs to be modified to a drop center type.
  13. I agree, but do we have any info on the engine in mid 60's Pete used in the add on scenes? This build is using the "unilite cab" used between '61-'72. My guess, it was Cummins 6, probably a 250, the standard engine used in the mid 60's.
  14. An accurate set of 20" 6 lug Budd wheels has been on my wish list a long time.
  15. Good choice on the WC-22, I'll go for that!
  16. X2! Another incredible build, very inspirational. Appears to be a heavier F 750 for F 800, lighter F 600- F 700 have a slightly different style spoke wheel. I believe there is a resurgence of interest in older medium heavy trucks, now that modern aerodynamic big rigs have become so boring. I'm a definite buyer of 2 or 3 when they become available! Now that the Moebius '69-'72 pickup cab is out, is there a chance of the "bumpside" medium duty version being mastered Tom?
  17. This cab had a long production run, not sure if it was ever available in resin.
  18. This is what comes to mind when I think of a base model '78 D 100, and it is exactly the way I would build it, a no nonsense worker. BTW, base model caps were painted argent silver with no holes.
  19. Looks great. This ones going to stand out, an East Coast city mixer!
  20. X2! Thanks Bill, we appreciate your difficult time consuming work and in filling in the voids in our hobby!
  21. Yes, one year only hubcaps: 1967 . There were two sizes of '67 F 250 hubcaps, one fit the early style carry over 16" rims in your photo, the other had the same styling but larger, and fit the new 16.5" wheels. The new larger version was used from '67 thru '77. '61-'66 F 250's used only one style of hubcap, the hubcap shown in the above blue '66 Camper Special F 250 Ford ad. I guess my Camper Special build will have to wait a little longer till the 8' styleside becomes available. Those are the early style 8 lug 2 piece rims that would be correct for '61-'66 F 250's, hopefully these become available in the future!
  22. Watch out for incorrect restorations, look out for period photos for the real deal. '61-'66 F 250 hubcaps are very similar to hubcaps that came with AMT '61-'63 AMT F 100 kits, just slightly deeper and larger.
  23. Good point, the GMC kit lacks the correct grill to be a '72. GMC added thin strip of trim around the grill in ;68, then thicker trim was added in '69 thru '72. Also there is a definite rake backwards on the fender trim, not vertical like the '67 grill. IMO, the GMC grill on a '67 Chevy pickup would be the most correct GMC pickup. A '67 GMC.
  24. Nowhere close to '58, probably meant '68. Nobody does the 67-72 Ford Medium in 1/25 scale. Lindberg did the HO scale over 45 years ago, but big 1/25 plastic ignored this vehicle. Hopefully now that the Moebius 69-72 cab is out there, there will be a medium duty conversion in the near future. The best you can do now is find the Missing Link Ford F 700 cab ( 73-79 ) very similar in styling. The F 700 has been listed on their site as "out of stock" "coming soon" for last 8 months. The Gerstenschalger body would have to be a custom fab job. Only thing that might come close is the Isuzu school bus "bonnet bus" that was done in 1/32 from Japan. First photo '67-'72 , 2nd '73-79
