70 Plymouth HEMI GTX 1/25 Scale
mchook replied to AmericanMuscleFan's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
You should stop taking pictures of real cars & parts and passing them off as models. What I really want to know is where you got that giant dime? ? All kidding aside, this is amazing work and thank you for sharing it with us. -
You like that? I said basically that same thing only with more colorful words.?

A way to get around licensing?
mchook replied to Oldcarfan27's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
They're still doing Dukes of Hazzard vehicles in diecast. Greenlight is putting out a a line of different police cars, uncle Jesse's pickup, Daisy's jeep & hopefully more in different scales. No "Dukes" writing or flags anywhere but that's what they clearly are. https://www.3000toys.com/catalog/products.aspx?FIND=dukes&ORDER=M&MFG=GREENLIGHT&setup= -
Wow! Great work on this little Model A. I've worked on lots of A Models over the years, 1:1 to 1/25, and this is coming along nicely. If your using a stock transmission the pedals for the clutch & brake look like this... The gas pedal has a separate bracket that mounts on the top of the bell housing where those 2 bumps are. you really can't see it once it's all together so I'm not sure if you want to build it or not.

I can't count the scars on my hands from knife slips, not too mention drilling into my fingers with a pin vise, but I have a good one on my left thigh I had to get stitched up. When I was about 12 years old I was cutting the nose off of a 54 Chevy on my lap. When it cut through the fender it kept going handle deep into my thigh. I wasn't going to tell my parents about it until I tried to stand up, OUCH!!! it was deep enough that it hit muscle. You can still see it and if you run your finger over it you can feel a divot.

Oshkosh snow plow
mchook replied to gotnitro?'s topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
I'll be watching for sure! My father drove one for the town for over 25 years & I loved it when I got to ride with him. That was in the 70s & 80s, and the town still uses the Oshkosh truck today. -
Stopped at Ollie's last night & picked these up. I would have bought more but with the Holidays coming I shouldn't be buying for myself.

I'm a fan of trucks but...
mchook replied to iamsuperdan's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My friend stopped by yesterday after work and told me all about this "truck" and how great it is. He went on for about an hour about all it does and how he's buying one, he even put a down payment on it and showed me the order #. After all his the praise about the "truck" he said he really didn't like the look of it too much. I said "let's see this great machine" and when he showed me the pictures on his phone, I just laughed at first until he convinced me it wasn't a joke. Then I went on for an hour telling him how awful that thing looks. He left still loving it ( I still think he's high or nuts) and he said when he goes for the test drive I'm going with him and that will change my mind. NO WAY!, but we'll see. -
If I ever get situated in the new house I'd be in. I have some good ideas brewing around in my head & I need to build something soon or I'm gonna go nuts.

Thanks guys, It would be nice but I'm not going through that again. I did that in the upstairs of my garage, I built a big bar, had a pool table, electronic basketball, darts, electronic bowling, slot machines, card tables, everything you could want. It was nice for a while, then the kids got older & made it their hang out and after that it slowly became storage for all the BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH we didn't have room for in the house. It's all still up there but you can't enjoy any of it. I don't even go up there anymore, it just aggravates me seeing it like that.?

We moved into the new house a few months ago and I'm finally starting to work on the attic. It was bare bones so I got some old pallets and started on the walls. Looks good to me, I still have more to go but I'm happy with the start.
