  1. I never realized just how big these cars are.
  2. 1. If you couldn't swim, you probably wore a life vest. 2. wore a helmet on my 3-wheeler, but a lot of folks didn't. 3. There have always been wood ores, not sure when plastic oars became readily available.
  3. This is all about the shady ad companies. Ad control is a full time job for Dave. Every time he fixes something, the ad companies change how they do things and sneak inappropriate or obscenely large ads back into their rotation. To blame the admins (Dave) is disrespectful. He has to walk a fine line of allowing ads into the site, to generate revenue, with keeping the ads under control so that they do not infringe on how folks view the site. Hopefully the magazine does well and we can start selling ad space here. That would allow us to control what is shown on the site. When using Google, or other companies, things are much more out of our control and easily manipulated by others.
  4. Mike - mine is similar in size as this one. I cracked it open right after your post and forgot to take a photo of it or even reply to your post. Sorry. I was shocked at how small it was. It has no trouble mixing 1 oz. jars from MCW. Maybe having the mixing ball in the jar helps though.
  5. Article says they made more, not sold more. Most of the ones made are exported to other countries. The article also states they sell more gas than electric in the U.S. by 3 to 1. The U.S. will be a tough market until they increase range to 1000 miles or come up with insta-charge or replaceable batteries, so long cross country trips are possible.
  6. I think a lot of the commercials are funny and clever........then they show it to me 50 times a day and it gets old really fast.
  7. That's not just any trophy, it's a thanks for participating trophy. I think Dave is looking at other available reactions to either add to or replace the default ones. The trophy doesn't really make sense, I would like to know the rationale behind it.
  8. It's a heart that when you hover over it a menu of buttons flys out. If you don't see it, please list what device and operating system you are using.
  9. When has the title of a thread stopped anyone from posting something? If Luc says it is ok, I can edit the title to remove Round 2. This is a catch 22, we are wrong when we combine threads and we are wrong if we keep separate threads. This is why I upped my meds.
  10. I believe, with no supporting data, that sometimes these types of changes are for security reasons. It is easier to hide malicious code in some of the ways that information (photos) are shared. Again, no supporting data, but that is the first thing I think of.
  11. That is why none of the posts were removed, but at least have a little respect the OP of this and many, many, many, many other threads and keep discussions close to the intent it was created for. So by your reasoning Tom, it is OK for all the other members here to go to one of your, or anyone else's, Under Glass threads and post all about their builds. Even if it isn't the same make, model or by the same manufacturer as yours. We have to draw lines somewhere.
  12. While not providing any nutritional value and probably not even potatoes, I really like McDonald's fries. That does sound like someone who doesn't understand how the drive-thru works. I don't blame them, you never know when it is someones first time doing something. Even something as commonplace as using a fast food drive-thru. The same thing happens on this board. People are always posting trucks in the car section. I always give the benefit of the doubt, that they post there because they don't know there are truck sections. ?
  13. All, Somewhere along the line (I am not going to go thru the entire thread) you guys went way off topic again. I am not sure why we, as a group, can't focus on the topic at hand or start a new one when a random thought jumps into our heads, but the OP has asked that I remove the entire thread. I am not going to do that as there is still a lot of good information mixed in here. In the future, please make an attempt to remain on topic. These long threads, with long runs of off-topic discussions, are the scourge of this board. Folks do not have the patience to read thru all the "junk" or "I wish they...." posts to get to the information they are looking for.
  14. I thought it was only certain tracks/countries that banned tobacco advertising. Most of the liveries were still very recognizable.
  15. I believe Dave has it set so you cannot see who reacted to your post. I believe it is tied to a function that we do not want to activate. We are still learning how the system works and Dave is trying to see if we can get things set the way we want for this board. I am sure Dave will make a formal announcement of how things work, if we decide to keep this feature.
  16. Well, there really is only a small amount of the registered members that actually post or reply as it is. This button may at least let the 1000's of lookers participate a little more. Maybe they will get around to actually posting at some point. We understand that some of you don't like the "Like Button". Don't use it, continue to participate how you chose. Some new members may like the ease of hitting a button to let you know they visited your post. Maybe we get some more traffic to the site. Maybe we generate a little more ad revenue to pay for the server and keep the site operating for free. There is always a small, very vocal, group that chimes in on every single change that is made to this site. It is not going to remain static. We are going to make (or experiment with) different functions to see if they make the site better for the majority of the folks or if it helps with the running/maintaining of the site. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it isn't a benefit to others, including the owner.
  17. I have one of these that I bought about 5 years ago and it does just fine with the 1 oz. jars of airbrush paint that I buy. Maybe they upgraded these at some point.
  18. I have found that doctors can be "bought" by specific drug companies, so asking your doctor about another medicine is a good idea. Doesn't need to be one you see on TV, but one you found out about during your own research. Most of the side effects that they read off on TV, by law, are the same ones you read on OTC drugs, like aspirin.
  19. This is a members build thread and as such, should be limited to questions or comments about the actual model being built. Please be respectful and do not clutter the thread with off topic discussions or photos. We have various other areas of the board for general discussions and questions. You can even send message directly to other members if you wish.
  20. Will have to let Dave chime in on it. We are just trying it out and learning a bit as we go.
  21. I am not sure how Dave has it setup. I can just click on the green square and see everything.
  22. We are performing a real world trial to determine the viability of a digital user interaction device.
  23. Please be mindful of what you post. Some of the comments are getting off track and are borderline inappropriate for this site.
  24. I feel I need to step in here. Some of you are now poking fun at people dying, what is wrong with you. I don't see you guys making fun of folks when they say their mother or wife passed. It's called the Off-Topic area for a reason. If we didn't have the Off-Topic area, you guys would be posting all this in the Model Building Questions section asking us to provide a place for Off-Topic discussions. I feel that this board, for some, is their go to place to interact with other people. Like many of you are so fond of saying, "If it doesn't interest you, don't click on it" Perhaps Dave gave see if there is a way to exclude this area from activity feeds, so you guys won't be burdened with having to scroll past the posts. OK, rambling rant over.
