I am guessing that this is a setting that is activated on the admin side as default with the new software. There is probably a views or posting threshold that automatically activates it. I am sure Dave will look into it when he gets a chance. I have seen it on a few threads and do not see an easy way to turn it off (without a lot of trial and error)

Calling a kit lousy and leaving it at that is not a review.

Moved to General. Will move back to WIP if we see any progress.

In what vehicle did you learn to drive?
Xingu replied to BeakDoc's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I learned to drive and parallel park in a custom 1976 Dodge van. The driving test was a breeze when I took it it my mother's 1978 Monte Carlo. -
I flagged this for Dave. Is your Inbox full? Have you deleted old messages?

Upper right hand corner there should be a small version of your avatar and your name. Click it and account settings is in there. There are a lot of options you can change/modify.

Message Dave Ambrose, but generally, we do not do name changes.

If you start a new thread and want to make it easily searchable, you can add "tags" that will be displayed next to the thread when it is viewed in the forum. Start the new thread and just below where you type in the title of the thread you will see " + Choose... " Click this and add your tags. There is a limit to the length of the tags (15 characters) and the number of tags that can added (I believe it is 3-5). Keep the tags short and descriptive then you and other members can easily find the thread whenever needed. When ready to search, just click on the magnifying glass in the upper right hand corner of the display. On the next page, click "Search By Tags" enter the name of the tag and click the "Search Content" button. You may have to click the button twice.

Got it, I miss understood. I assume it goes to the ad companies. They more than likely will not do anything about the ad, since they are paid to put it in front of as many people as possible.

Stores are purchasing anything they can get their hands on. There is a huge shortage in many building supplies. I work in the fire sprinkler industry, pipe and fittings are getting scarce and super expensive. 10% monthly price increases have been common for sometime now. Chlorine is another item that is getting harder to come by. It is used in making CPVC pipe and manufactures cannot get any. If you own a pool, you better stock up or you will be swimming in a green slimy mess this summer.

What are you saying here Tom? Dave has to spend an awful lot of his time adjusting server side settings every time the ad companies change their ad setups. The ads will never fully go away, it is revenue that keeps this board running. If folks truly can't stand it anymore and can no longer scroll past them, they can install an ad blocker. All of this is in an effort to keep this site free to use.

What did you see on the road today?
Xingu replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Please remember to post photos from car shows and meets in the car show area. -
If people would just utilize the tag function, the threads become easily searchable. We will discuss the above suggestion as well.

Got a notification yesterday that my 200 lb. item had shipped and I would receive it sometime next week. It was on my porch when I got home today.

They left one up on SA that bashed MCM and me personally pretty hard. A few members here even participated ? -
FSM - The Automotive Content Thread
Xingu replied to vincen47's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
So once again we have taken the good intentions of a thread and turned it against itself and started bashing and flaming FSM, it's members and of course our own members. Well done folks. -
We are not going to get into the practice of trying to eliminate every ad that someone is tired of seeing. We will of course do our best to get rid of the ridiculously offensive ones that sneak in from time to time. Lets see what the ad companies throw at us next week. They sure do keep Dave on his toes.
-
We are aware of it and are looking into it. There is an existing thread in the General section, so i am going to lock this so all the info stays in one place.
-
For the record and so that everyone knows, Dave keeps the ads to a minimum on this site. The ad companies continually change how they do things and find ways to circumvent the settings/restrictions we put in place. We know everyone hates the ads and we appreciate those of you that still allow them to come through. The ad revenue, while not a lot, does help pay the bills.

Yeah, the Gallery is a mess, but to be honest, I haven't fooled with it since the last software update. If I get some time, I will poke around in there a bit.

Making Detail Master DM 2260 Racing Harness with paper
Xingu replied to 89AKurt's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Unfortunately, we cannot pin every tutorial (no matter how good they are) that gets posted. People already complain that they have to scroll down too far to get to new posts. As an alternative, if you find a post such as this useful, you can click the follow button at the top of the page. That way you can easily find it again by searching/reviewing your followed content.- 24 replies

There is also a video of the drone going through a theater, but it isn't as good as the bowling alley IMO.
