  1. Lets get back on track and discuss the new releases. We do not need to to talk about "what if......", "they should.....", or "if I ran things...." every time new releases are announced. It derails the discussion and all it does is rehash all the arguments that have been expressed in dozens of other threads.
  2. In '06 I went to buy a new Corvette convertible. I found exactly what I was looking for and the dealer was marking it up $7500. Told them I would pay sticker, but not the mark-up. Salesman told me "somebody will" I told him I will just wait until next year and get one when you are having trouble moving them, but I won't get it from this dealership. Bought a new coupe in '07 for a very good price and 0% interest from an excellent dealer a little bit out of my area. Went back in '08 and bought a Callaway convertible, again with 0% interest. Roughly once every 2 years since, I get a call from the dealership and a separate call from salesman (who now works elsewhere) to see if I am in the market for a new one. Am expecting to get a call about the mid-engine Vette as soon as they have one that wasn't preordered. Same happened with the Dodge dealer in my town. They were marking up their Hellcat $20k. They had that car for a long time. Like Dan, I have heard QC was a little lax as they were rushing to get these to market. I will go look at them eventually. I think they will now be able to get significant performance gains out of the new mid-engine platform.
  3. I think it would be fine to put them in the Under Glass section when complete.
  4. I know a few folks are disappointed that the Truck Stop got merged with general car talk. This was not unexpected and was discussed by the moderators prior to making the change. This forum has many useful functions that can help organize and sort content. A few extra seconds while creating a topic can greatly improve how easily others can find it later. First thing that can be done is that members posting new threads can add some descriptive text to the title. The easiest thing to do is just start the title as such "Truck:" or "Big Rig:" or "Muscle Car:" Second thing that can be done is add tags to the thread. These are user designated terms that are searchable. Click the magnifying glass in the search box and it will open the search page. Search By Tags is one of the options. You can also view Unread Content to quickly view and sort threads and posts. There are several user defined filters that can be applied here. You can also search this site using the method shown in the following link to find what you are looking for.
  5. There are some that are complete or photos of 'old' dioramas. I haven't moved any threads over there yet. Working my way through other categories.
  6. As soon as I stated moving threads I knew I had messed up. Was working with the others to figure out where to put as it didn't work well with the Workbench and Under Glass layout we now have. It's all good though. I am still going to go thru all the threads and move the general questions and resin wip to appropriate locations. Dicasts can now be included in the Workbench and Under Glass sections if you feel enough work was done on them and want to show off what went into modifying them.
  7. I agree. There is a bit of information that is missing though. The amount of time the moderators had to spend moving threads from general areas to the location they should have been posted in the first place. Some of the changes are to also make it easier on the mods. Full disclosure, I wanted to merge Aftermarket and Industry Corner and was talked back from ledge.
  8. Members will need to be a little more descriptive with their titles. It is fairly easy to add Truck: or Big Rig: or Muscle Car: into the titles. I also know that some folks will think that is just entirely too much work and won't do it. I believe the truckers will band together and come up with a way to distinguish threads that pertain to them from the other automotive threads.
  9. You can go to whichever thread you would like to link and copy the web address shown at the top of your browser. Then just past it into your post and it should convert it automatically.
  10. Yes cars and trucks are merged for the Trading Post and Wanted sections. When posting you could name it "Truck Wanted: xxxxxxxxx" if you want to make it easier to tell it is for trucks.
  11. Dave - Is it individual threads or just certain parts that are slow. Several members have reported "Unread Content" loads slow.
  12. You can post a link to your Contest/Show announcements here. This is for announcements only, not for discussions. You can link to a more detailed announcement that you post in the Contest and Show section. You can still add your Contest/Show to the calendar. Again, this is for announcement links only. Any other posts will be removed as we are trying to keep this thread clean so it is easy to see upcoming events. This should also give the show announcements a bit more viewing traffic.
  13. Waiting for the final decision, but I think Diecast will get it's own section back. If it is just photos of a store bought, complete vehicle then it will go there. If there are extensive modifications/conversion it can go into the Workbench area to showcase the work that went into it. Then the finished conversion could go in the Under Glass section.
  14. I see that bar is working! It is there to make sure everyone reads the thread that quickly explains the changes. It will stay a while longer so that more folks can read the thread before they start sending messages saying the board is broken.
  15. We will probably give diecast it's own section again. As I was moving threads yesterday I realized they didn't really fit in well where I was putting them. Still working out a few bugs.
  16. Motorcycles are in the same grouping they have always been. We only clarified what else can also be posted there.
  17. Part of the reason for the change is to give the site a smaller footprint so that it is easier to maneuver with a phone or tablet. We see so few motorcycle builds here that decided to keep them in the Everything Else section. It just isn't feasible to give everything it's own (in this case 2) category.
  18. I have already been questioning this and have asked the other mods for their opinions.
  19. I have an idea for that and ran it up the chain of command.
  20. Diecast and Resincast are being merged into Model Cars and Model Trucks. This was supposed to go into Under Glass, I placed it in the wrong spot.
  21. They are being merged into the regular model car and truck sections. If it is a new topic, start it there. You should be able to view and respond to existing topics.
  22. That is exactly why the changes were made.
  23. Big Boyz are being merged back into the regular Model Cars and Model Trucks areas. Same is happening with Diecast, Resincast and 3D models.
  24. We are going to move threads around as best we can. If you feel a particular threads belongs in a specific area please shoot us a message or use the report function and we can look into it. It is going to take us some time to get threads moved around, so please be patient.
