  1. Put the chassis under it and see if it is any better. Sometimes, that helps straighten it up a tiny bit. Won't fix it, but it might make it look good enough to use.
  2. I removed some of the previous posts. Will call them political and leave it at that. Do not continue that conversation on this board. Take it to email or private messages.
  3. Not sure how we went from tire melt to low testosterone, but lets please keep on topic (tires).
  4. @peteski @Straightliner59 please take your discussion to email or PM. There is no need for the rest of the board to view it. @everyone else this is the type of behavior to avoid, even if you frame your offensive comment in a nice way. It leads to personal attacks and 30 days to think about what you did.
  5. Yes. Wife usually threatens to do away with the phone portion and they extend the promotional rate.
  6. We have Xfinity/Comcast. I just turn my wife loose on them and my bill gets cut by $70 a month, without losing or changing anything. Maybe I should start a YouTube channel showcasing how my wife gets her way.
  7. That is why she never threatens to leave completely. She just says she wants to remove phone or internet from the cable package.
  8. Every year or so, my wife will call our provider and complain about our monthly bill. She will threaten to drop a part of the service and, usually, we get a huge discount to keep things as they are. it may be worth a shot to see if they will give you the "promotional" rate.
  9. Please don't make us lock another thread because you guys take things personal, assume comments are directed at you, cannot keep yourselves from commenting, chiming in to defend someone who can usually take care of their own affairs, or just trying to get the last word in. Read it, disagree with it and move on. You will be amazed at how quickly things are forgotten and threads get back on track. FYI - it usually isn't the OP that gets a thread locked or removed, it's the folks that continually make of topic comments and the multiple replies pointing out the absurdity of making off topic comments.
  10. I enjoyed that. Lot of pride and satisfaction in this video.
  11. Well, unfortunately, but not surprisingly, I had to lock this thread, since so many folks could not stay on topic or in good taste. After about a dozen hidden posts, it just isn't worth holding out hope that you guys would get back on track.
  12. This will be last warning many of you will get. Trolling is against the rules here. Don't get mad and say how you are mistreated and singled out when you get put on moderation and/or banned for 30 days. You are not judge and jury, if you have concerns bring them up with a moderator.
  13. Let’s keep the discussion focused on the Avanti. Please start another thread about the GP if you want to dive any deeper into their styling.
  14. Dave has to reconfigure a few things every time the ad companies find ways to work around the security and settings we have in place. I will flag this so he knows he needs to do it again.
  15. A month is quick nowadays. I ordered carpet for my '67 Charger in December, the last update was I would see it "hopefully" in August. Those are one of the most iconic shifters ever produced.
  16. I believe the preview button is now back and functional. Please let us know if it is working.
  17. Steer away from political discussion. Not only will the thread be locked, the offenders may have 30 days to sit at their bench and actually build models.
  18. HaHa, he wanted to drop by with a quick word. I watched the whole, nearly 1-hour long video. I get what he is saying and if it is true, good on him for standing up for what he thinks is right.
  19. I will chime in here real quick. Some of you have been here long enough to know which topics can easily veer into politics or religion. You also know that isn't allowed. When a topic is borderline we let it go a bit to which direction it will head. All it takes is one person testing the limits to completely derail a topic. We now just hide the topics if it becomes to far gone. By the way, it is for us mods to decide what is to far gone (or political, or religious), not the regular posters, lurkers or pot stirrers. At some point all the general discussion will probably go away and we will stick with the model related topics. Much easier for everyone, especially the mods. Just a reminder, it is also against forum rules to continually bash the moderators and their decisions. Going forward, that rule will now be more strictly enforced. We are tired of the same old argument, of how your views are oppressed and how we are contributing to the downfall of our society, or free speech, or whatever phrase you want to latch on to. This is a model building site, NOT a general discussion board.
  20. Looks like fun. A long time ago, in a galaxy far away, I used to race 1/8 scale on-road gas cars. They ran on something like 20% nitro and would go 75+ mph or so on the straightaway. We even had a racing series that ran on tracks in several mid Atlantic states. Was a lot of fun and met a lot of good people doing it.
  21. Lets all get back to what models are on the shelf and keep in mind that Hobby Lobby is the ONLY LHS for many folks and many people do not like to purchase items online (no matter what you may think about that).
  22. Sorry, had combining on the mind as I was also answering a question about that. We are picky about adding more pinned threads since we also get the occasional "I don't like having to scroll through all the pinned posts" complaint. This is especially true of folks who use their phones to access the site. The mods have had several discussions about how we can have more threads, such as these, organized and more easily found. Dave is going to look at the capabilities of the software to see if it has options to better categorize threads that we would normally pin. Something along the lines of putting the pinned threads in a separate sub-category that members must click on to navigate to it. It is on the long list of potential changes that we are looking into. A short term workaround is to follow a thread that you like. That way you can search your followed content, accessible from your member profile, to quickly find a thread.
  23. In general, we do not combine older threads. As it is, many folks will skip over older threads when they pop up in a search. A plus to this site is that the separate threads will provide multiple hits when people search for a topic and this may draw new members here. Sometimes, we will combine newer threads on the same subject. This usually happens when people rush to start whats in the box threads for new kits and death notices when someone passes. Please continue to report threads you feel should be combined, as we do review every request, but do not be surprised, or upset, if they are left separate.
  24. Well said.
  25. I have to deal with inexperienced people all the time in the construction industry. People I work with and people I work for. If someone makes a mistake, I point out the mistake and the correct way to do whatever it is that they messed up (most of the time). This happened just this week at my new job with my new boss. I told him the truth about things I felt he and others had done wrong before I was hired. He then thanked me and explained how much he appreciated it, because everyone else just seems to tell him what they think he wants to hear. I may get fired next week, but I did what I felt was right and appropriate for the situation. In Bill's scenario, and since this was a new hire, as soon as he painted the tires, I probably would have told him that is not how or where it is done. I may have asked him who told him to paint what he was panting and if they had given him instructions on how and where to do it. It may not have been a pleasant conversation, since he just painted my tires. I would have then showed him where the correct spot to paint was located and pointed out what stands to use or how to support what he was painting. Then let him go on about his business. Probably would have only taken a few minutes. I would have then lost it, if or when he ignored what I told him and made the same or similar mistake.
