I agree, I hate the extra step. I just did it in the post above to make sure it worked. Not sure when Dave is going for try number 3 on the update. Hopefully when we get it to work, it will fix a bunch of the little problems the board has.

I you must use a different font, you can copy your post over from a text editor and paste it into the forum. With all the 404 errors, I think it is best to keep posts as simple as possible.

There is always some value in the VIN and title.

After running this by Dave, he thinks we can go ahead and leave truck related questions in the Q&A area as well. They just need to be tagged with "Truck" so the car folks can just skip over them. Since maybe 5% of the folks here use tags, mods will be adding the tags to the threads.

Hobby Lobby is a retailer and has no control over what comes out. Look at the manufacturers if you want to know what is coming out each quarter. Hobby Lobby will more than likely get them soon after release.

If you ask how to modify a specific TRUCK kit, it belongs in the truck section. If you don't put it there yourself, expect it to get moved.

We have a section devoted to trucks, vans, SUVs, industrial and commercial equipment of all sizes. There are separate sub-categories for big rigs and light trucks. If you post something that falls into one of those categories in a place other than the truck section it will probably get moved. There aren't as many sub-categories in the truck section and a lot of general discussions and questions will end up in the Truck Stop. Sometimes we catch them when they are originally posted and sometimes a member will report it to us so that we can look into it and move it if necessary. Sometimes we catch them years later when someone digs up an old thread. We have the same problem (to a lesser extent) with NASCAR and Drag Racing vehicles. They also have their own sections. We actually encourage folks to report threads and posts that they think are in the wrong place. We do have a few folks who refuse to do this and would rather make comments like the ones we have seen in this thread. I personally tend to leave small pick-up trucks from the 20's in the car section. Most everything else gets moved into the truck section. The other moderators may view them differently.

I flagged so Dave can look into it. -
To do it properly, yes. I usually have several pieces getting sprayed the same color and by the time I am done with a coat on all the parts, it is time to start at the beginning with the next coat. Most times, I can finish spraying without having to stop and clean.

Yes, the paint dries quickly and will clog the tip when it does. You cannot let it sit for very long. It is best to do as Geoff says, empty and clean it right away otherwise it can get pretty gummed up and not work properly.

Scroll thru this thread. There is a simple fix for it.

Where are all the built up kits???
Xingu replied to randyc's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
What would happen is that a thread that would normally have 10-15 constructive comments would end up having 2 comments and 30 thumbs up. Eventually, the two folks that posted comments would just start giving thumbs up. The way it is setup now, makes folks interact if they want to say something. Way to easy to just click "Like" and move on. Not that much harder to type out a comment about the things you like about someones build. -
It never actually went away. We are hoping that the software upgrade fixes it. Dave just has to free up the time to try it again, it didn't take on the first try.

There are many threads where this has been discussed. Not going to happen. Gregg knows the trouble it would cause. Use eBay, they are set up for the disputes. -
Testors Automotive Paints

Now we have gone off-topic. I am sure someone will post more info if/when it becomes available. A company does not need to make a statement when they discontinue something. They can just stop making it. For those worried if the line will no longer be available, please stock up on your favorite colors. -

I went back to reread the thread. The post I quoted is where it started to go off track. 5th or 6th post in. Have to be careful about what you post, it gives others the opportunity to continue with the off-topic posts. -
I swiped a couple of interior shots from the dealers website and added them to the original post.

Thanks! Yes, two slide outs. It is one of the smaller fifth wheels that you can get. Sleeps 3. Perfect for my wife and I.

Testors Automotive Paints
Xingu replied to mrmike's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I, for one, having been having issues with Testors spray cans for some time (the past year or so). It is hit or miss if I will get one that refuses to mix and/or spray properly. I get a lot of sputtering and spitting from new cans. I stopped using them and if I cannot get the color I am looking for from Tamiya, I will get bottles from MCW and airbrush them. -

Estate Planning - all those models in the basement
Xingu replied to <profile removed>'s topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I found the old thread and merged the two. I have been slowly selling off kits that I will never get around to building. I also don't want to move a lot of this stuff to Montana when I retire.
