No photos. Saw a new Mercedes Benz G550 with what looked like an 8" lift kit and 33" tires. It was also painted (or wrapped) a flat grey with a slight purple sheen. Sure looked top heavy, but I doubt it will ever see gravel or dirt. -
Gregg is currently wrapping up issue #206. See if you get that one once it is sent to the printer. If so, that will probably be the first issue of your subscription. Issue #205 went out in February or March. That should have been the only one sent to the old address.

Model Train Show - offending the purists
Xingu replied to iamsuperdan's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
There are some folks that if you didn't do it like they would have, then you did it wrong. Doesn't matter if it is trains, model cars or painting a house. Of the 5 or 6 model railroad layouts that I have seen, there is always a few fun things hidden in it. -
Everything about that aircraft was lighter than I thought it would be. I assumed the engines were much heavier than what they are.

I think I have only made 3 meetings in the last 18 months. I need to plan a little better, I always seem to have something else going on the Saturday of the meeting. I have a lot of fun at the meetings (even if JC is the only person I recognize).

I flagged this so Gregg can see it. Give him a few days to respond. -
I am going to lock this down. Everyone has said their piece and any further comments is just going to cause more trouble. We got all the reports. Unlike what some may think, we do let folks have their say and try pretty hard not to censor anyone (as long as they keep it in the rules).

I will only add that most folks who have been issued bans (temporary or permanent) were also give several warnings and reminders about the rules. Continued infractions is what gets most folks banned. Some blatant violations will get immediate bans as well. Like Mike stated, this is a model forum. The man who owns and runs this site wants it kept as clean as possible so that kids can come here and enjoy the site. Doesn't matter if they do or not, the owner wants it kept clean so that they can. That is one of the fundamental rules of this board. If you cannot abide by it, this isn't the place for you. The Off-Topic area was created to give folks a place to chat about some things other than models. It wasn't created so folks could just say anything they wanted. Maybe it is best if that section is removed, then maybe the conversations would stay model related.

I miss the ease of maintenance on the older cars and how (for the most part) easily you could do a engine swap. Computers and emission controls have have made things more difficult. I know some still find it fairly simple to do this things on modern cars, but to me it feels like I have to learn another language when it comes to computer and emission controls.

New updated Model Car Garage site!
Xingu replied to MrObsessive's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
We have been working on this since day one. It is baffling. It is random and it often times just goes away on it's own. Software update didn't fix it. Software publisher is as baffled as we are. My uninformed, non-IT gut feeling is that it has something to do with the hardware where this site is hosted. I have no data to back that up though. -
I know the thread goes off tangent (if you are not posting about the Piranha you are guilty as well), but there is no rule against it other that it is poor forum etiquette. However, there is a rule about abusive behavior and posts toward other members. If you guys don't like it, stop responding. Use the ignore member function if you want, that way you won't see any of the posts.

I removed the post, hopefully only a few folks saw it.

I have no problem logging into their site.

eBay part seller now gone
Xingu replied to slusher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Click on the Advanced search options. Scroll down to Sellers and check the Only show items from: box. Go down to where it says Include and change it to Exclude. Enter the sellers name. -

Would have been better if he said he would unwrap/break the seal on the box. -

Its pretty easy to exclude a seller from searches on eBay. If you decide a seller prices his parts unreasonably, exclude him from your searches. Problem solved. -
I currently own to '67 Chargers. People either love them or hate them. Can still be found for a reasonable price (compared to those from 68-70).

My pets story,1:18 Pagani Huayra Dinastia in carbon
Xingu replied to model arts's topic in Diecast Corner
Absolutely nothing wrong with posting photos of the cars as long as he is not actively trying to sell them. He even posted in the correct section. I wish more folks would do that.- 4 replies

Xingu replied to W Humble's topic in How To Use This Board
Others had this problem and it was related to software they used to store their passwords and/or security settings. I will tag this so Dave can take a look at it.- 3 replies
