  1. I may be one of the few people that actually like foggy/overcast mornings.
  2. This was my favorite even though I rarely drove it. Was reliable, could drive it cross country if I wanted to, handled like a sports car should and it was VERY fast. Had it up to 160mph (I think it had a speed limiter set at 159, it quit pulling a split second before I got a worried scared and let off). Top down on nice days. Had it for 3 years and only put 4000 miles on it. 2008 Callaway Corvette
  3. Isn't there a Subaru or Volvo out there?
  4. I have actually been doing my testing on the hood of a model. They are generally fairly easily to strip and clean if things don't go as planned. I tried testing colors on spoons and gave up after the first try because of the poor results. Hard to tell what a large flat panel will look like when using a small round sample area on the spoon. I now use the spoons to eat applesauce....with cinnamon!
  5. Was this the guy that had a meltdown on the forum, over one of his posts, or was that some other blogger?
  6. Just keep an eye out for them Mark. I got a glue bomb in a nice box for $10 about a year ago.
  7. Another great deal with afx. Thanks again JC.
  8. I'll bet that Bantam Roadster was a lot of fun to race.
  9. I believe it was sent on a trajectory that would take it past Mars. I think there is/was a live feed from the car as well.
  10. Check here as well.
  11. I was on crutches and did not have to shovel any snow. I remember a 6' deep snow bank that formed at our back door. The whole neighborhood was out helping each other clear their driveways and our entire street. They were smart enough to completely clear the street so that when the plows finally came, they did not block the driveways again. We never lost power.
  12. Nicely done. The details you have added do make a big difference. Looking forward to seeing this one when it is done.
  13. Go ahead and get a bite to eat. Thread is locked down.
  14. I would like to remind the folks that have posted issues to please provide updates as to when/if they receive their orders. There is a difference in receiving your order late (no matter how late) and not receiving it at all. Everyone that reads this thread can then determine if they are still willing to order from this vendor.
  15. I would love to run that car around the track. I don't think my nerves would hold up on those 150mph curves though. I had my old Callaway doing 120mph around a "slight" bend, so I have had my fill of fast corners, and 160mph in a straight line. Slow and steady for me now.
  16. Locked down before it gets any more heated. As I have said many times....if you think something is in the wrong spot, report it. The report pops up when I log in and I can go right to the post/thread in question and look into it. Sometimes I will agree with the report, sometimes I will not. If I do not, I usually send the person that reported it a message to explain why I disagree. If you think I am being unfair to you, you can message Dave and/or Gregg to complain about me.
  17. I moved it to the 1:1 Reference Photo section. You posted photos of a 1:1 restoration you are working on with detail photos, of the Boss engine, to be used as reference to anyone working on that kit. Which seems to really meet the definition of the reference photo section. I know everyone likes to have their threads in the General section, but they do not all belong here. I also do not get the chance to read every post, in every thread. If you think something is in the wrong place, please use the report function to bring it to my attention.
  18. What if you took the exact car, put a roll cage in it, added a body kit, lowered the suspension and then took it to your local SCCA event and raced it. Would you have the exact feelings towards it as you do to the electric motor being added? To each their own. Most folks probably wouldn't put an electric motor in any car.....because they don't know how. Some would do it, just for the challenge. The really talented folks would do it in a way that could be reversed.
  19. Of course you can. You might be able to replace the photos in the original threads.
  20. I am going to close this one down right here. There will be no winner in this discussion.
  21. Unfortunately, I am good at dealing with bad pain. I can put it out of my mind for some reason. Mine were also compression fractures. After about 30 seconds of rolling around on the ground in pain, I was able to stand up and walk around. It felt better everyday after that, so I never went to the doctor. Every now and then it would just feel like it was a deep bruise that would never completely go away. The same thing happened with my shoulder, torn labrum and didn't find out until years later. I am absolutely paying the price for not going to the doctor when the injuries occurred. My body now reminds me it was injured every morning. On the flip side, I cannot handle the small cuts and scrapes. I will complain about a paper cut for days.
  22. Do what the doctors tell you. I broke 2 vertebrae and did not know it for about 10 years, until I lost the feeling in my legs. I now go for surgery about every 5 years or so.
  23. There are still deals to be had at these auctions (usually not during prime TV time though). I like to look at the prices after the auctions have ended each day. The promoters know which cars to run across the block when the TV cameras are on.
  24. That search also came up with this on the first page.
  25. The Gallery has unfortunately been broken for sometime. Dave was working on trying to save it, but I don't think it is going to be possible. It may need to be cleared and rebuilt from scratch.
