  1. On some models, GMC offers a larger engine that you cannot get with the Chevy. Was that way with my Yukon. Everything else is just a little different looking trim here and there. I always end up with GMC (sometimes Ford), simply because my local Chevy dealer never wants to give me a deal.
  2. Dave is going to do a software upgrade that will, hopefully, let the board run smoother. He just has to see where he can fit that into his schedule. The board will be offline for several hours when he does it. I am sure he will give an announcement before it happens.
  3. Welcome! Glad you found your way back to the hobby.
  4. The 40% coupon is good for one item. They are counting on you buying more than one item and paying MSRP for everything else.
  5. To get back on track - Glad you found a use for the gold BMF. There are a few threads down in the tips section about using BMF. Using a new scalpel blade is helpful and having a fair amount of patience is a huge benefit as well. As with all parts of model building, practice will make you better.
  6. The search function on this site is sporadic at best. Check the link below for a much better and more reliable way to search the site.
  7. Need to wait for the final word from Dave. Direct uploads will eventually take up the allotted space on the server that this board has.
  8. I do not see any percentage bar or message about used space. Dave was going to look into making some changes to this function, so not sure what, if anything has been done.
  9. Well, I have never uploaded directly to the site. Posted this to see what happens.
  10. If we want to go deep into obscurity.....the Pinto that blew up in Top Secret.
  11. This was already brought up (in a much nicer fashion) early on in this thread. Not sure why you are jumping in now and calling us uninformed and lazy. It looks as if it has been determined that there are some kits out there, from the initial run, that are making it to the shelves. Revell discontinued the part numbers and stated new numbers would be issued if the kits become available again. We will probably never know what happened. We can speculate all we want. Buy them, if you see them.
  12. It's a Porta-John, but at least it is clean.
  13. The downside to this is, we will have to pay $15 for a scrap clear sprue on eBay.
  14. I always look at bad box art built models as a challenge. Can I make mine look better than theirs. Usually all it would take is a color change and black wash on the chrome to make a huge difference.
  15. The delete option was changed last week. I have been a moderator since the end of last year.
  16. They do that for sure. I get calls and when I check the Caller ID, it says I am calling myself from the same number. I have also been getting a lot of calls from "The Sheriff's Office" looking for donations. I know the Sheriff and they are not calling folks looking for donations. I need to keep a land line here as I have spotty cell reception where I live.
  17. Yes! Looking forward to the new tool Coronet. Glad you found, and finally got, a good one.
  18. The delete function has in fact been disabled and is now only a mod/admin function. You can now only hide your posts and threads. If you have something you want deleted, you need to use the report function and state why you want it reviewed and deleted. I try to catch the multiple posts or threads and delete the extras when I see them, but I don't catch them all.
  19. Like Bill has already mentioned, just passing it through water is going to be difficult. Activated carbon would be your best bet at getting something that works. Activated carbon is also used in aquarium filtration, so you have some options on where to purchase it. If you don't get it right, yours neighbors will let you know. Some of the paints and clears have very strong odors.
  20. I believe there was a GMC ice cream truck in Killer Clowns From Outer Space. Would probably be difficult to do the lighted clown topper though.
  21. I think any documented test mule would have value. Even more so if there are one off or hand formed pieces (that can be verified) still attached to the vehicle. They are all very rare pieces of automotive history. I don't think many of the survivors made it to a dealership, I think they ended up with some executive or engineer and were later resold.
  22. Ray, I saw a Cobra pedal car at Cracker Barrel last week.
  23. If you are uploading your photos directly to the site, then yes you are limited to quantity and size of the files. When you see posts with lots of photos, it is because they are using a photo hosting site like Photobucket or Flickr. The site limits direct uploads because those files take up space and resources allocated on the server for this forum.
  24. It loses a bit of it's luster, now that I know it wasn't actually a Ferrari that had to hop the curb and drive down the sidewalk. I remember thinking how intense it was when I first saw it.
  25. While not technically a chase scene, there was a video out (I saw it in the early 90's) called "The Rendezvous". This guy strapped a camera to his Ferrari and went blasting through Paris early in the morning. Pretty awesome video, missed shifts and all.
