I think I have this one.
-
I've been at it since age 8, in 1963. My aunt bought me a '62 Studebaker Lark kit, with the rubber band power plant! The following is a pic of one I purchased on eBay in 2009: I went ahead and built it in much the same manner as I did when I was 8. The only difference is I cleaned up a little flash with a #11 blade. That one got me hooked, and I've been building ever since!

Here's a rare sight!
Bucky replied to Joe Handley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I remember the time when even large cars ran 14" wheels and tires. Most of the mid-size cars had them. The only reason I have 20" on the 2008 Ram 1500 is because they were already on there when I bought the truck. It did come from the factory with them, but they don't really ride very smooth. I have the same thing with the 2017 Chrysler 300s. It has 20" on it, too. From the factory...very thin tires...easy to scrub the wheels on curbs...not exactly a 'luxury car' ride to them, either. With the older set-ups, you at least had some rubber between the wheels and the curbs! A lot better for those of us who have a bit of trouble in the parking lots! HAHAHA -
Thank you, Michael, and thanks for the hint on this one. I might not have figured it out, otherwise. It was tough for my way of researching!! HAHAHA

Here in southern middle Tennessee, there was a 'dusting' of snow today. I dread the winters more as I get older!!

I didn't realize there was a Ranger option available for '66: Bucket seats and console were available options. More good stuff for the aftermarket to make for these kits! LOL

Very smooth ride...comfy interior...cool body lines.... When the 400 locked up, I put a '70 model 300 horse 350 in it. Turned it into a sorta sleeper.

I owned a '76 Malibu Classic with the 400. Torquey engine, but no real hot rod!
-
According to Wikipedia, the top engine for '76 was the 400: In its third and final season, the 1976 Laguna Type S-3 again featured a sloped, body-color urethane front end and quarter-window louvers, but with new rear styling and horizontal taillights shared with other Chevelles. Lagunas shared their round-gauge instrument panel with the personal-luxury Monte Carlo; Malibu models made do with a more conventional dashboard and a linear-readout speedometer. The standard engine was a new 140-horsepower 305 2-barrel V8. Optional engines included the 145-horsepower 350 two-barrel V8 and 175-horsepower 400 four-barrel V8. Aero styling had helped make the Laguna popular with NASCAR drivers. Laguna S3 was outsold by the lower priced Malibu Classic coupe and the Monte Carlo. Production of the Laguna edged up to 9,100 cars as the base price went to $4,621. NASCAR

Has anybody in the aftermarket mentioned making any Mercury conversion parts for the '65-'66 Ford pickup?
-
I like the Buick! Nearly bought a new one in '76. Here's the '75 version:

The following pic came from a blog about a Jo-Han Rebel buildup: I didn't know the Rebel kit had single exhaust, either.
