I formed the above "tarp" by making a diluted white glue solution, and soaking a heavy-duty paper towel in it. I covered the Chevy body in plastic wrap, then formed the wet towel to my liking, and allowed it to dry in place. After removing the plastic wrap, the "tarp" fit fairly well.

Fantastic MOPAR! Black is a perfect color for one of these beasts. I'm really liking the exhaust. Simple, and direct way to dispense with those HEMI fumes. Very well done!

I don't know about the Pontiacs, but my '68 Imperial Crown top frame is sort of a semi-gloss black.

I use Super Clean for most strip jobs, too. However, I once soaked an old Johan '62 Dodge in brake fluid for two weeks, and the old paint finally turned loose, and the old styrene didn't suffer any ill effects. If you have an insignificant part from the Corvair that you might not be using, you could try it in the brake fluid and see what happens.

Nice job on the up top. I like the fact that it has the frame mechanism molded on the inside, too.

This is very sharp! I knew a guy back in '77 that had one in this color. His had a white interior, with white stripes like you have on your decal sheet. Either way you decide to go I'm sure will look great!

Well, since you slapped the gorilla, I'll go ahead and take a poke at it, too. I can handle everything in this upcoming kit, but my one pet peeve is the incorrect boot cover.

I'm chomping at the bits for this '68 'vert to come out, even though I have two rebuilders going. Looking forward to the future hardtop, if they do indeed offer one. Bringing these old ones back is right up my alley! Makes me hopeful that they find the '66 Polara convertible kit, and bring it back, too!

It might be that with the '68 Coronet, they had something to go back to as far as tooling. The new Bronco is just that, new. No prior tooling, to my knowledge. And the new Charger hasn't been done before, either, unless you count the Lindbergh version, or try to do something with the '05 Chrysler 300 tool.

I have a couple '68 Coronets on the redo workbench, complete with '69 GTX chassis to go in them. It doesn't seem to be a terribly complicated kit-bash, but I haven't been able to work on them in quite a while, so I might not remember correctly! LoL

What type plastic are you using to make the parts?
