  1. I can't add anything more than what's already been said, except to say DITTO!
  2. Welcome to the site. As 1930fordpickup suggested check out the drag racing section. You should also check out the workbench & tips, tricks & techniques sections. You will find info in these & other sections that will give you insight to building better models. I am constantly learning new & better ways to improve my model building skills. As you look thru the site you will see all levels of modelers from beginners to those that build amazing, unbelievable models. The best thing about this site is that there is always members here to answer questions, offer encouragement, advise & suggestions. You only need to ask. Welcome aboard!
  3. Thank you for your replies.I too have always used Dawn on plastic. I assumed I needed something stronger for resin as the Modelhaus instructions called for Bleeche-wite or a Por 15 marine cleaner. I will give Dawn a try on the next kit as I did have enough Bleeche-wite for the kit I'm starting. Mark, you said not to soak in Super Clean. Does this affect the resin? Would diluting it make it safe? & what would I use to strip paint off resin? Brake fluid?
  4. I recently went to replenish my Westley's Bleehe-wite that I use to remove the mold release agent on resin items as per the Modelhaus recommendation. When I got to the store I found that it is now Black Magic Bleeche-wite. While I assume this is the same product, I wondered if any one knows if it is indeed the same? Is there anything else that would work such as Super Clean? (I inquired at the Modelhaus web site not haven't received a reply yet.) Thanks
  5. This is sound advise. Maybe he's confusing the PE parts for slot car parts?
  6. Absolutely stunning! Beautiful paint.
  7. John, By golly there is a thread under the "tips, Tricks & Tutorials" forum covering hinges. Should be a big help.
  8. Welcome! I can't remember what post(s) there are showing how to hinge doors. but I,m sure you can find something in the WIP section or tips & techniques. If not just ask for some help. The members here are always glad to to help out.
  9. YAY! Working much faster now. Many thanks!
  10. Ditto again!
  11. ditto
  12. A very nice red!
  13. I built this about 11 years ago and have been honored to have won "best light truck" the very day I finished it & "best factory stock" 3 years ago at the Good Guys Heartland National event in Des Moines. This is my 1st post w/ pics so I hope it works!
  14. Ok, I thought all the COEs would be the snub nose style like the pic oldnslow posted. As for the grille/year, the grille seems slightly modified IF it should be the same design as the pickups'. It does look correct for the Fargo, again based on oldnslow's pic. I recently learned that although pickups used same grille from '39 - '46 ('47?) the position of the head lamp pods migrated farther to the outside.
  15. I remembered this post & kept meaning to respond to it. I see you have a Cunningham in your acquisition and was wondering what shape its in & what your plans are for it. I have 1 that I'm restoring, however before I realized what I had, I modified the wheels for use on another model. (I had acquired it in 1:32nd junkyard lot) Although I may be able to restore the wheels for use on the Cunningham, I am hoping to find another set in original condition to replace the modified set. I was wondering if yours had all the wheels in good shape & if you would be interested in trading the wheels (or entire model) for??? (I need a taillight, too) Sorry I don't have the PU hood
  16. It looks great to me. Just 1 thing I'm curious about. You call it a COE but it looks like its a conventional?
  17. You could always use the extra bed to make a trailer...
  18. They sound interesting to me. I will be looking for them when next I go shopping.
  19. Yeah, Iowa sucks for modelers. I'm stuck in SE Iowa. No clubs & the nearest hobby shop, 35 miles from here, sucks. Fortunately there is Hobby Lobby in the same town as the hobby shop. The nearest decent hobby shop is 2 hrs away in Des Moines. So welcome aboard! The best place to be if you like building model cars!
  20. iamsuperdan is a great trader. Would trade with him again. Thanks, Dan!
  21. I was able to order Duplicolor Chrysler green at a local auto parts store for about 1/2 the cost of the MoPar brand turquoise that I could find on line. I'm pretty sure the Chrysler green is the same as the turquoise. I have an old, OLD can of TRW brand Chrysler green left over from a 1:1 repaint of a 383 as well. It looked like a new, correct color engine when done. As far as I know Chrysler never used a "green" for their engines (at least not post WWII). This color tends to change over time (due to heat?) so the new paint doesn't always look quite the same...
  22. Very nicely done. Great save, too!
  23. It would seem the Imperials could be produced using /modifying the existing 300 tooling. The front clip and I believe chassis & running gear is pretty much Imperial already.
  24. Very nice. I like the color.
  25. Very cool! This is the best rear custom treatment I've ever seen on a roundy fendered hump back car! The continental kit flows so nicely between the extended fenders. Very nice! And thankfully its not a lowrider...
