  1. It was featured on Jay Leno's Garage recently.
  2. Me too! I love those "futuristic ' dashboards that these cars had and would be great for kit bashing customs. Turnpike Cruisers of the late '50s are another of my favorite Mercs.
  3. That big engine looks fantastic stuffed in that engine bay. great job!
  4. Thanks, Mike!
  5. This should be a cool build!
  6. Would you mind sharing that website or listing you have? I have a couple of references I found years before internet but they have some discrepancies. Always fun to compare and become more confused
  7. I'm glad to see someone aware & sought out the correct turquoise color! Being a MOPAR fan & owning several '60s era big block MOPARs in my life, nothing irks me more than to see these engines, especially on 1:1 cars, painted blue! Keep up the good work & the attention to detail you are showing on this build.
  8. Just completed a trade with Hi-Po. Great trade! Thanks Terry!
  9. Your Olds looks fantastic! The 1st thing I thought of when I saw your tires is they look exactly like the "Port o Walls" I have on my real '56 Dodge. Port o Walls for those who don't know are white wall rings mounted by inserting it between the tire & the rim. They are a poor man's white wall that are are still available thru after-market vendors. They look a little wrinkly around the edges but supposedly lay flat when in motion. Mine look a little more wrinkly than most as I had purchased them during the time when the industry was moving to radial tires. the Port o Walls I have were intended for bias ply & don't perfectly on the radial tires their mated with
  10. Cool little car DeLuxe!
  11. TarheelRick is a fantastic trader. He bent over backwards to correct an error. Highly commendable. Would trade with him again without question! Thanks Ricky!
  12. I'll throw in my 2 cents worth. I love the Virgil Exner designed Mopars From the mid '50s thru early '60s and most of these have been sorely neglected. Some have suggested DeSotos '55 -'59 And I agree! How about some Dodges as well. I also saw a '56 New Yorker in a suggestion that could possibly spring board off the 300B tooling. (maybe even a New Yorker St Regis). How about a '58-9 Dodge Sweptline PU (& 2 other box versions) I would also suggest most any neglected late '40s - '50s cars; bullet nose Studebaker (or Studebaker truck or any Studebaker really), circa '49 GMC sedanette, '56 Buick or Olds, '58 Ford, almost any Nash/AMC.
  13. Another thought on replicating a bed liner would be to use a textured paint or perhaps glitter paint (which has texture). Apply the textured paint then paint it black (like the Rolling Stones would want ) unless you are lucky enough find black texture paint.
  14. Your work looks "dead on". Nice job!
  15. I always thought Bantam got screwed on the Jeep contracts or lack there of. Oh well that's another story. This Jeep is looking fantastic!
  16. The wire wheels really give it a sporty look...
  17. I always thought it was curious that no one ever kitted th HHR. i wasn't aware of the JF resin. I'm always learning stuff on this site & its way more fun than I ever remember school being.
  18. Looking good snow far.
  19. Not to mention the use of many of the same styling ques found on the very popular '58 T-Bird...
  20. I have to agree whole heartily here! I'm not much of a customs guy either for the reason Martin stated. But this is great custom work that enhances the lines on an under appreciated auto design that is one of my '50s favs too.
  21. Thats a snazzy little car! Looks like it would get up and GO!
