  1. I use Testors metalizers a lot on engine and driveline parts. I always primer parts. I'm interested to hear what differences you encounter between metalizer applied on primered vs. non-primered parts. I only use spray cans not bottled paints. If I need to brush on, I spray a little onto a piece of aluminum foil and pick it up with the brush from there. -RRR
  2. I primer everything after sanding/scraping off mold lines, sprue attach points and ejector pin marks..... -RRR
  3. Another home run!!! Great work on this one! I love all of the details, the interior came out great. -RRR
  4. Good start, B!!! I've been having trouble getting pix to post as well, so I haven't been...carry on. -RRR
  5. Fugly, but different.... -RRR
  6. I'm liking this...keep at it!!! -RRR
  7. Nice build, this is one of my favorite kits of all time (mostly as a parts kit)...if you ever get the chance to go to Garlits' Museum of Drag racing in Ocala (only an hour drive north of Orlando), do it. I lived in Napier, on Harold Holt Ave. in the mid '70s, lovely place. -RRR
  8. A guy driving a 3 series BMW with a broken rear rim....not very safe... -RRR
  9. Front axle and rear tires from the (soon to be returning???) Revell Model A ('28 roadster and '30 coop) kits.
  10. Neat, neat, neat!!! -RRR
  11. Thanks for all of the compliments. Rear tires are from the Revell Model A series (that we may see again???). I sanded them with 2000 grit paper to knock the sheen off of them. -RRR
  12. Howdy folks, it's RRR, I haven't been doing much building as of late, I have been lurking here from time to time. I finally got my cataract surgery done in March, quite a process. Now that I have my new eyes settled in, I'm back at the bench. The fabled 33/36 coupe is a long term project KK and I started about five (!) years ago. We took the AMT '33 Ford five window coupe body and grafted a cut down greenhouse from the AMT '36 three window coupe. Many other mods ensued not least of which is a tuck in the rear trunk area to reshape the back end. Power comes from a blown Y-Block. Paint is Tamiya black with an overcoat of semi-gloss clear. The accent color is Tamiya Intermediate Blue (military color). Lots of buildup pix here: https://public.fotki.com/jferren/3336/ Thanks for looking -RRR (&KK)
  13. Well done, ADL. And thanks for the back portion of the cast off body you sent me! -RRR
  14. Awesome custom work!!!!! -RRR
  15. Either prop it open or glue it shut. -RRR
  16. Both would be easy enough to build with existing parts and a little scratch building. -RRR
  17. I love this kind of mashup....keep it going!!! -RRR
  18. YOWZA!!!! Your skills are MAD these days....congrats on the award, sorry we couldn't get together when I was out there last week, too much WORK to do...AAAARRAGAHHAGGAHHHH!!!!! -RRR
