  1. I just have parts strewn all over the bench, I lose parts all the time.... -RRR
  2. Little Motor Kar Co is up and running. I sent him a tree of parts to plate within the last 8-10 weeks, got parts back within two to three weeks, done up very well. I can post pix of his instructions and order form if you'd like. I haven't used GT Kustom Khrome so can't comment on their operation. -RRR
  3. Tubs (wheel and interior) looking good! -RRR
  4. AMT 1934 Ford pickup, the recently re-re-re-reissued kit. Modifications include: Chopped top, body channeled over frame, bed shortened, rear fenders bobbed, spare tire well on passenger side fender filled in, rolled rear pan. Hood sides from Revell '32 5ive window kit, cut down to fit. Bullet tail lights with nerf bars. Tailgate is from the Monogram '40 Ford pickup. Interior includes a modified bench seat from the AMT '55 pickup with 'Mexican blanket' upholstery and steering wheel from the A La Kart kit Engine is a flathead scrounged together from several kits. Wheels are Cadillac "Sombreros" from the Revell '49 Merc kit. Tires are resin (fronts from Modelhaustires.com, rears from unknown source) Paint is DupliColor brown primer, drivetrain is Tamiya Racing Green, with some black wash weathering..... More pix here: https://public.fotki.com/jferren/kustom-34-pickup/ Thanks for looking.... -RRR
  5. Nice clean build of a finicky kit..... -RRR
  6. My only advise about BMF is: "Don't do it". I hate that stuff. I know you didn't ask, but there it is...and worth both pennies... -RRR
  7. X2 -Always scrape off the paint (and plating) on both surfaces being glued together. Model building 101.... -RRR
  8. LOL....Somebody's always gotta be trying to start something.... -RRR
  9. jeez, some of you guys are REALLY organized. I have boxes of parts from who knows what kit stored in whatever box. I do have some big boxes of wheels/tires, aftermarket chrome plated parts, engines, separate small box for flathead engine parts, all my Rep and Mins resin in a big box, three boxes of decals, other than that, it's a pretty big mess that gets frustrating when I'm looking for some parts I know I have but don't know where. I'm too olde to change now, I reckon...I, too, buy lots of parts on FleaBay..... -RRR
  10. I went screaming by Don's place in Ocala the other day. If you get a chance to visit his museum of drag racing, it's worth your time... -RRR
  11. Thanks, TIM, nice review of an iconic kit us olde timers remember fondly... -RRR
  12. Very clean builds of some finicky kits....well done... -RRR
  13. Rocket 88 is considered by many to be the first rock n roll song. Of course, that's up for debate.... -RRR
  14. Modelhaus tires, they're still going, fast shipping, too. I love these tires or street rods. Be advised, they fit AMT sized wheels not Revell sized wheels. www.modelhaustires.com -RRR
  15. Jeff Allison is one of my faves... -RRR I have more of his drawings saved here: https://public.fotki.com/jferren/jeff-allisons-drawings/
  16. Yeah, I was kinda wondering how the height will be in the engine compartment...I think I used that intake on the belly tanker.... -RRR
  17. With the re-re-reissue of the venerable AMT (Lindberg originally?) '34 pickup, it's time to build another one...kustom style this time. Here's the inspiration: First order of business is to grind out and fill in the spare tire slot on the passenger side front fender... Then channel the body over the frame... give it a haircut... I then shortened the bed and fabbed up a hard bed cover... Let's roll the rear pan to add a subtle kustom touch... Rear fenders will be bobbed, the front splash apron was removed, the grille shell was notched and shaved on the sides and slammed down, so the hood sits level...quick mockup... The plan is for flathead power...more to follow... thanks for looking.... -RRR
  18. I was going to say, vodka is clear, how you gonna paint that????
  19. Neat, neat, neat..... -RRR
  20. Yep, yep, yep...I actually cleared off my work bench and gave it a new coat of paint several months ago...back to the cluttered state now, just the way we like it! -RRR
