  1. Maybe this picture will help. ? It was a blast to hear and watch them in action. And will throw another one in from the same 2015 Prescott rally. I got to ride in a 5 (I think) at the Ramada Express Rally, for demonstration runs, the sound of the dirt hitting the bottom was really something. This was after he fixed his car after ditch-rolling on the first stage, which I got video of. Ok, sorry for hijacking your thread, back to the regularly scheduled program.
  2. Wow, so you have the real deal! ? I've seen a few in their natural element, on rally stages. ? Won't show you the one that crashed near the end of the last stage, when they led by a wide margin. Cheering you on, I'll get off your lawn!
  3. diesel generator running
  4. Thanks for answering.
  5. Wife woke me up (she was an early riser, live in AZ) and said "you *have to* see this". Was in shock. In shock today to see "some people did some things" is not met with passionate Patriotism, and conspiracy theories is used for what I don't know. Better just leave it there.
  6. Just because I built this very kit last century, look forward to seeing how this turns out. Typical Tamiya quality is excellent, other than lacking the engine. What tool are you using to scribe with?
  7. band scheduled indoors
  8. Which is the driver's side? ⬅️➡️⬆️ That is a museum work of art, a league of it's own.
  9. I got that grill, have not built anything yet. I owned a '69, and currently a '68, you be the judge. The taillights are horrible nevertheless.
  10. gas dispensed with
  11. Nice Cowboy Cadillac! I also would like to say the mud is very well done, like on the bottom of the mirrors, wiper tracks, overall I can tell you thought out every glop.
  12. That's pretty sweet! I have to assume it's a race car that's retired to do track time. The paint job looks great. I also sympathize about doing the window frame/gasket, one of my challenges. Does the kit have an engine?
  13. pulverized with Habanero
  14. Went to Dollar Tree to get hair ties, also looked at nail 'polish' and found this teal that should find it's way onto a worthy project.
  15. ? Thank you!

  17. Thank you too! Yes that's an interesting observation. When I was doing research, found a forum for "those people" who were enthusiasts, just like most any make of car there are forums where people help keep them alive (I'm on the '67-'72 Chevy Trucks forum and Civic X and was on MINI North American Motoring). Not many members, not much activity. I would bet getting parts is an issue, if not made in huge quantity to begin with. Willing to bet there was an Achilles Heel that killed them. It was also a design aesthetic thing, purely subjective of course; the "cab forward" theme was Chrysler's thing, with the bucktooth front overhang being prominent, don't think the 3000GT looked as bad. The wing location was just weird. It just dropped into obscurity. Mitsubishi's version didn't fare much better, but their Lancer Evo rally sedans became the bomb, didn't they?
  18. Might as well post this meme that I made, for a Fakebook forum that I help administer. ? It was precipitated by my Stealth Indy Pace Beater being that yellow, that much of an undesirable mongrel, and that much of a hunk of junk, that we were having fun at it's expense. Sometimes I get too serious with projects, getting details correct (rivet counting), not screwing up the paint, throwing microscopic photo-etch at it hoping it will stick and look good. Sometimes you gotta cut loose and throw something together to make up for having OCD. Since I hunted down that project, saw that I had not responded to everyone who left comments! I think if people bother to leave comments, responding is only polite. But that's just me. ?
  19. Thank you! Appreciate it! Thank you too! Thanks Mr. Phoenix I feel sorry for you. ? That '56 Chevy in your picture an El Camino idea? Appreciate you taking the time to tell me that! Felt GREAT to start *and* finish a model within one season. Thanks, yes I did. Yea ya, it's not that hard, I'm telling you. ? Well thank you, considering what I had to work with, appreciated. Really appreciated! It's interesting how loser cars are more rare than desirable cars on the road, when I see any Pinto I have to look in amazement that's it's still running. There is a Datsun B210 running around here too, the one with the funky side windows. There was controversy about using a Japanese sourced car with Dodge slapped on it, which was common practice in Detroit soon after the "gas crisis". Just before the big day, the prototype Dodge Viper was deployed. What's funny, many of the engines in the race cars were not 'Merican. ?? I would bet your red kit is more rare than these, typical of my investment strategy. Yep, slapped together. Parked my OCD. Thanks, and you're welcome! Don't be fudging the truth, it looks like a hunk of junk! Thank you. I completely missed all the kind comments. There has been a topic about protocol recently, I think it's rude that I didn't reply, my apologies. ?
  20. Thanks! ? Appreciate your comment! Thank you! I have several lifetimes supply in the box, I should sell baggies of it.
  21. Yea, that's cool, but in the article they mention another car, which is REALLY cool, for an old classic. https://robbreport.com/motors/cars/bentleys-mulliner-1939-corniche-rebuild-2862848/
  22. Thank you! Have you seen any of his parts in finished models?
