  1. I have no doubt you will preserver and make it right.
  2. Super build. Thank you for sharing it with us.
  3. Really wise choices for the model and your lights and decals. Look forward to seeing your build.
  4. Welcome aboard. You found the right place and your models are a perfect fit. UMi, Teapot Graphics and Fisher are loved here.
  5. Sending PM. I have what you need.
  6. I went through all the period photos of the Daytona interiors in both 1964 and 1965 and could not find even a hint of a seat belt.
  7. Wow. Some really cool features incorporated. Thanks for sharing them with us.
  8. The BBurago SWB is 1/24 and was made in China but I do not have a date on it. What bothers me are the side windows which seem to be too tall which makes the top look too thin. But bear in mind I have a degree in mechanical engineering before digital computers and lack a good sense of proportion and shape unless drawn with a T square and compass.?
  9. I had planned to do something with this BBurago SWB but after watching yuz guys it is going back on the shelf.
  10. Tim, Bondo can be your friend. The red #21 is an Italian made BBurago which I converted to a Drogo long nose using Bondo and with PE wheels, the LM winner. The yellow #28 is an Academy OOB with a Scaglietti nose.
  11. Glad to see the Comstock version being modelled. Looking forward to seeing more of your build. You captured the unique grille opening spot on.
  12. I missed this thread back in the day. I was just about to ask for an assessment of the BBiurago SWB but you have already done that above. Well done all.
  13. This is 2287 at the LM trials. And 2299 at the race. I hope they are useful and not too late.
  14. DB4GT - do like Matt said: If you want a DB4GT, cut a chunk out of the middle of the cheapest Airfix/Doyusha DB5 you can find, and sand the sides a bit.
  15. Matt, The only one I can add to your list is the Auto Replicas Ltd Frazer Nash T.T. Replicas, 1933 No. 1002. I have not unpacked and examined the kit but the box says it features chrome plated fittings, real leather trim, rubber-like tyres and steel axles. Plus full engine detail and real wire spoke wheels. Gary
  16. Very interesting project Matt and I agree with Bill's suggestions. This is meant only as an aside based upon the subject. Majorette did a 1/24 diecast licensed by AC Cars Limited according to the chassis. They labeled it as an AC Cobra. It does have the correct taillights for an AC but is left hand drive.
  17. An interesting thread on the USCP model and build.
  18. Thank you very much for the background, Jeff. Any idea what the museum 550A serial number was.
  19. Jeff, Good to hear from you! Your contributions to ACME and MRRN were greatly appreciated. I just noticed the Teapot resin, my built up above, doesn't have the bump on the rear. Gary
  20. With the recent addition of some more early Porsche diecasts to my collection I thought it was wise to take an inventory and photo. New are the Whitebox 356A, Welly 356A Speedster and Welly 550 Spyder. Just for clarity the #32 and #34 aren't diecast but plastic and resin.
  21. Gary, The Flintstone builds up pretty well but not as the James Dean version. The Dean version is the first version of the 550 and does not have the side vents like the resin copies. My recommendation for the Dean version is the Welly 550 and just add decals ( ebay ) and the paint flashes on the rear fenders.
  22. So you always wanted a Porsche 550 Spyder? Here are some options though all but one are long out of production. The light resin is by Jimmy Flintstone. The dark resin is by Umi. (Michael Quarterman) The built up #34 is by Teapot Graphics (aka John Johnson). The next unmarked entry is by Welly. The 1:1 is not know to Gramps. The James Dean "Little Bastard" is by CMC (big $$ for the best.) According to the UMI instructions the resin bodies are based upon a 550 spyder that was in a Japanese Museum at the time the models were made. It has also been mentioned that they were based upon a Japanese toy.
