  1. Matt, The only one I can add to your list is the Auto Replicas Ltd Frazer Nash T.T. Replicas, 1933 No. 1002. I have not unpacked and examined the kit but the box says it features chrome plated fittings, real leather trim, rubber-like tyres and steel axles. Plus full engine detail and real wire spoke wheels. Gary
  2. Very interesting project Matt and I agree with Bill's suggestions. This is meant only as an aside based upon the subject. Majorette did a 1/24 diecast licensed by AC Cars Limited according to the chassis. They labeled it as an AC Cobra. It does have the correct taillights for an AC but is left hand drive.
  3. An interesting thread on the USCP model and build.
  4. Thank you very much for the background, Jeff. Any idea what the museum 550A serial number was.
  5. Jeff, Good to hear from you! Your contributions to ACME and MRRN were greatly appreciated. I just noticed the Teapot resin, my built up above, doesn't have the bump on the rear. Gary
  6. With the recent addition of some more early Porsche diecasts to my collection I thought it was wise to take an inventory and photo. New are the Whitebox 356A, Welly 356A Speedster and Welly 550 Spyder. Just for clarity the #32 and #34 aren't diecast but plastic and resin.
  7. Gary, The Flintstone builds up pretty well but not as the James Dean version. The Dean version is the first version of the 550 and does not have the side vents like the resin copies. My recommendation for the Dean version is the Welly 550 and just add decals ( ebay ) and the paint flashes on the rear fenders.
  8. So you always wanted a Porsche 550 Spyder? Here are some options though all but one are long out of production. The light resin is by Jimmy Flintstone. The dark resin is by Umi. (Michael Quarterman) The built up #34 is by Teapot Graphics (aka John Johnson). The next unmarked entry is by Welly. The 1:1 is not know to Gramps. The James Dean "Little Bastard" is by CMC (big $$ for the best.) According to the UMI instructions the resin bodies are based upon a 550 spyder that was in a Japanese Museum at the time the models were made. It has also been mentioned that they were based upon a Japanese toy.
  9. The Mirage #15 was built using a Mini Exotics body.
  10. Thanks to all for your nice comments. For your request for more early GT40s here are some from 1964. First is the prototype from the April LM trials. I used a K&B slot car body on an IMC chassis. Then the 1964 LM race #11 using an IMC kit. With the 1964 LM race #12 with a COX body on a Fujimi chassis. And here is a sneak peek at what's to come once I finish the 1965 Targa Floria spyder.
  11. Wow! Thanks for sharing these. Always had a liking for the GT and GTA.
  12. Well done! Thank you for sharing.l
  13. I like what you have done with the weathering. Thank you for sharing.
  14. Survivors from early 1960s.
  15. It was with your help Helmut that led me to the Alfa and Porsche. The Jeeps were a total surprise from Welly.
  16. Santa came early this week.
  17. Really excellent build and finish as we have come to expect.
  18. X2 on poseable steering. Rich Cheronsky is the real devotee and master of the art.
  19. I wish I could be of more help color wise but my color sense has been outlawed in all states and provinces in North Americal.
  20. I stumbled upon this Maisto 2017 Corvette Grand Sport Special Editon and could not resist buying it online. Now the temptation is to put some race numbers on it. ?
