    This is a pretty good reference link on the original 1962 Jaguar wire wheels. https://mossmotoring.com/ It is my belief that the 1962 #8 raced on Dunlop manufactured wire wheels which have a conical lacing shape to them. The same shape as in the various plastic kits of the XKE. From current photos of the restored Jaguar it appears to be wearing Borrani wire wheels which have rim offset and a flatter shape. The owner of #8 was a privateer and may have sourced his wheels wherever he could have found them and was not concerned about the color.

    Yup, I found mine at Lowes and could not resist buying one. I went back later to get another one for our mail carrier and they were all gone.

    I was pretty excited when I saw your pictures. Then decided I better look to see what I already had and I do have a 2007 Vanquish and then I looked online and I can barely tell late Astons apart. They are as bad as late model Ferraris, (but I still buy those). Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate your photos a lot.

    MiniExotics made the resin X-1 trans kit for the Fujimi MKII decades ago I am afraid.

    It is all about the ratings. The more they can scare you and keep you glued to the TV the higher their ratings. The higher their ratings the more money they can get from the advertisers.

    I think the scoops came out of the parts box and were modified to fit. The hardtop was included in the original kit fortunately.

    I don't remember where the figures came from but the steps, table, and chairs were scratch built.

    The release of the German Revell XKE kits has me thinking of the '60s and the Revell 1/25 XKE kits. Looking back is this Revell Light Weight XKE modeled as it raced by Team Cunningham at Le Mans in 1963.

    Yup, that's an early GTO alright. Very well done and realistic too. I like the darker red you used, what brand and shade is it. The new Tamiya Italian read seems too bright to me but then I am not a good color judge.
