Way to go Snake. I received the Big A Auto Parts Ertl 63 Corvette today and it is quite a surprise. It is 1/25 scale, quite unusual for a diecast. It is totally unique from my other diecast Split Windows so not from the same mold. Though in original box and packaging there are no knockoffs. I am showing it with a Danbury Mint for size comparison.

Impressive Escort Helmut. The graphics alone are pretty impressive.

Yes, the grille is printed on the nose. Here is a response from William DePooter in Belgium which leads me to think there is a licensing issue with Mercedes for Euro sales. "Funny thing is I cannot find it in Welly's catalog (though I DID find a vendor offering it indeed), but Mercedes-Benz themselves have it in their model car range. Might mean there is more to come - at least Mercedes-wise :-)"

This BBurago 1961 Porsche 356B came yesterday. It is identical to previous issues except for the color which is labeled as ivory. But......it is a mat finish, very unusual. I also saw that Welly has issued a white cabriolet version also. As with the previous releases it is large. Here shown with my favorite 356, a Super 90 from Metro for size comparison.

Mercedes Benz 1937 W125 Surprise! Welly has released a 1937 W125 in 1/24 scale and it is cheap. It popped up on the Bay and I quickly ordered one not because it fits in my collection but because I want Welly to see there is interest in this pre-WW II racing Mercedes. I am still in disbelief! I thought I had all the '63 diecast coupes in 1/24/25 scale until I read Snake's post about an Ertl and looked it up on the Bay and saw the black with red BIG A Auto Parts split window for $4.95 + 4.95 shipping. Now I ask you, how could I pass that up, still in wrapper and box? Only a dollar more than Snakes and from the comfort of my home. Of course, Snake is now back in the influencer category big time that I must be aware of.

Very well done Bruce. It has that certain feel about it. -
Very glad to see you out and about and your finds at the toy show are very fortunate. Very best wishes on getting back in the groove.

Beautiful model indeed. My favorite part are the rivets in the wooden steering wheel.

Gulf Porsche 917 LH
Gramps46 replied to Dave B's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
Very well executed Dave. Really captures the feel of the 917LH. -
I like your color choice, rarely seen.

I like the color. It is very close to Ford of England Linden Green which Ford Advanced Vehicles (FAV) used on some of their GT40s.

The 1989 Porsche 911 Speedster had the last of the vertical headlights and featured styling reminiscent of the original 1955 356 Speedster like the cut down and raked windscreen and only 2 seats. The model is a 1/24 Maisto and is labeled as being made in Thailand which is a little different.

Very striking find and it is a Special Edition too.

A big thank you Helmut for posting this truly impressive model. I have the yellow version and it is truly a star in my collection. I especially appreciate the photo of the box. Mine was a gift without a box and there are no markings on the chassis so the has info I was missing.

Truly beautiful build and really appreciate your posting of the pictures. I have the Profil kit and now I have an excellent example to base mine upon.

In our diecast community the Volkswagen Sambas and Vans are populate subjects. When I found my Revell 1967 plastic kit (posted elsewhere) it reminded me of my diecasts.

I have the brown and gold release too and it is missing the hood ornament entirely. But fortunately it does not have the zinc pest.

I am impressed and it is a good fit in your McLaren.
