  1. Very interesting and thanks for the information. I am not familiar with the 1/55 scale from Polistil so thanks for posting the photos.
  2. Perry, you are very fortunate to have the Teapot kits.
  3. You nailed it Kurt. Really well done and the model box on the floor is awesume. The attention to detail really adds to a very simple model. You did not mention the windshield wiper replacement but it is well done too. The wheels have the best treatment I have seen on this kit.
  4. Just a word of warning. The Chevy is attached to the base plate with those EU Child Safety screws with the triangular heads. The EU screw drivers are available online or you can make your own if you are feeling adventurous.
  5. Thank you Randy for the backstory and insight into the signage. I am impressed with your lettering skills but then I guess you have had lots of practice.
  6. A big thankyou Brian for the back story on ICONS Cobra. I always thought it was strange that ICONS did not have the Elvis labeling and just figured it was a license issue. BTW, I am a big fan of their Anniversary GT40MKII complete with engine which was unique till the Meng kit was released.
  7. Now that is a super find and in France no less. Tell us more about the signage.
  8. Now that is a true survivor. Thank you for posting the photos Tom.
  9. This is a 1/24 scale diecast Porsche Junior Diesel tractor and wagon. It was released by the Porsche Museum and I found it on the German eBay. My only comment is the wheels and tires on the wagon are not period correct in my opinion. Revell does offer the same model of tractor as a snap kit but there are minor differences between the two.
  10. My Bel Air just arrived! Thanks to Helmut and Geno I knew I had to have one. My family had one just like it with the exception of the V8, I am pretty sure ours was a 6 cylinder. I spent a lot of time in the back seat between my older sister and Grandmother on rides and summer vacation. I think Hachette did a pretty good job mastering this one. I need to get some license plates to finish this one off.
  11. In retrospect now it would have been easier perhaps to post this photo and told the viewers just to imagine that the Bartoletti transporter was red and without the tag axle like the Ferrari team's were. The P2s are #20 Strombecker and #18 is a K&B body on an Academy chassis and the 250LM is a BBurago with an extended Bondo nose. There is an irony here though because the Shelby et al transporter was borrowed from David Piper for Steve McQeen's movie LeMans and painted red to look like a Ferrari transporter. Here pictured when Michael Shoen owned it in Arizonia. And yes that is CSX2299 Cobra Daytona and CSX2002 Cobra on top. This is the location where Gunze Sangyo photographed CSX2299 for their Daytona kit. Photo copyright Michael Shoen
  12. Whoa that is nicely done. The windshield frame surprised me but that is ok.
  13. Helmut, you are right on the transporter, a scratch built body by Mike Sells. Should not have included the #28 for 1965. Oh well, getting old sucks.
  14. Well done Rich and thanks for the comparison. First time I have seen the Aoshima built up.
  15. I am impressed indeed.
  16. That is a beautiful save Gene.
  17. Really like what you did. The rally wheels look a lot better. I would personally like to see a little less rake. Trying to remember the normal street rake in 1965. Really appreciate the photos.
  18. I too have one coming and for a very special reason. My folks had one just like that. Thanks for posting. Did you do the windshield rubber or does it come like that?
  19. Same to you fellow! ?
  20. Yup, a John Johnson Teapot Graphics resin kit.
  21. Really sweet build. Thanks for sharing with us.
  22. Thanks to all for your comments. Reference the B/W photo, it is a reminder that back in the '60s that is mostly what we model builders had for reference.
