Sharp, clean build. Well done!

Starting on the interior. It's painted with Testors Italian Red acrylic. Possibly the best dash I have ever done. My Molotow pen quit working so I dumped the ink into a vial and painted it on with a brush. I like the results even better than with the pen! Gauge faces are 5- minute epoxy.

I have some resin 8-lug Dodge wheels with Ground Hawgs. The wheel color in the picture is unpainted resin. The wheel and tire are molded as one piece. -

Very nice. It looks like you could get in and drive it. -
Sweet! Very nice job. I love the shag interior!

I recently picked up this little Porsche from a friend who is selling off his collection. I've always loved the Porsche 356 and was anxious to build one. Unfortunately, this kit has changed little since it was originally issued in the '60's. I'm going to try to correct some of the major issues. First off, the rear wheel openings are far too high. I added a piece of. 040" sheet styrene to each side, which will eventually be sanded to approximate the correct shape. Front and rear pans have been smoothed and blended. The kit does not come with bumpers. I have some parts box bumpers that are fairly close. The hood fit was appalling. I added a strip of .010" to the right side as seen in the photo. It will be sanded to shape. Stay posted.

Wow! Very nice. What paint did you use on the engine? The gloss looks really good on it.

Black pastel chalk, ground into a powder and mixed with about 10 drops of water and 1 drop of soap. Don't worry about getting chalk on the chrome where you don't want it. After dry it wipes off with a q-tip.

Dave, Looks great! I know how much work this was, and how it feels to call it done!? -
Very nice! The paint looks great.

2x that on the foiling!

Same here. I sold a '70 Challenger R/T for less than 2 grand in 1993. It was rusted up to the door handles but still ran.?

I dig the valve cover gaskets! It looks like the engine could use a good pressure washing though LOL! Nice save!

I made some progress on the '57. The body work is nearly done and I've moved on to the chassis. I'm attempting to fit some Z06 wheels that I cloned from an AMT C6. The rear tubs have been widened and just need to be finished. Trying to go back with leaf springs mounted on the frame rails to simplify the build. We'll see how it goes ?!

Best built-right-from-the-box kits?
Steamboat replied to Jantrix's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
THANK YOU for finally mentioning these great AMT kits. I like Tamiya too, but there are some surprise goodies from other manufacturers. I've recently built a Moebius F100 and a Moebius Hudson Hornet that went also together well, although the instructions take some getting used to. Who needs instructions anyway? -
Beautiful!

Gorgeous! The gold really makes it. Nice job.

Thanks folks, I appreciate the kind words and suggestions.

Yeah, like I said I'm a total newbie when it comes to GM's. Mopars had alternators starting in '61. I painted the brake rotors black to simulate drum brakes too. The kit comes with some nice rotor decals but no calipers. I thought it would look pretty weird without the calipers.

I recently finished this one for our club build, which was to build a Christmas present. I don't know a lot about GM's, so I built it box stock, without even adding engine wiring. The paint is Testors White Lightning rattle can lacquer with Tamiya rattle can clear. I wanted the interior to be a burgundy color, so I primed the pieces with red oxide primer, and top coated them with a light coat of Tamiya Bright Red PS-34. I'm pretty happy with the results. First time for me using a black chalk wash on the grille. It's super easy and I'll never paint one with enamel again! Comments and criticism are welcome. There's always room for improvement.

Looks great! Nice engine choice too. It's nice to see a base model Cuda. Has Revell corrected the front valence or did you have to bodywork it? It looks great.
