  1. I remember paying $5 for model kits 75 years ago. LOLOLOL!!!
  2. My local Walmart restocked their model kit display cube.
  3. Same at my local HL. But.... Walmart restocked their model kits! More Grumpy’s Vega, ‘69 Torino Cobra Fastback and the usual stuff. Did saw they had the ‘70 1/2 Camaro Z/28 kit and both Cobra trike and Mailbike trike kits. May have to grab those two since they’re 6 in a series.
  4. Incredible.....
  5. Pretty much the same... Lindbergh kits. Won't be long til more kits arrive in November.
  6. Nope. Click on the link I provided. It is an actual model kit. Selling for $60.
  7. Or am I imagining it? Or do the Sci fi kit designers lost their creative juices? I mean, come on... who would buy and build a space ship that looks exactly like a dual action airbrush?? LOL!! I came across this in Lucky Models website. https://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=PSD-AMK-001
  8. Very nice build!
  9. I remember that Eckler Vette kit! I built that one in my youth years. I built that kit in my early teen years! Man, I completely forgot about that one. I think I’m going to make a list for myself of all the car kits I’ve done from the mid 70s right up until around the mid to late 80s.
  10. Picked up the Tiki Trike Kit the other night.
  11. Carpeting on dashboard top surface, shaggy rotary telephone... shag carpet everywhere. Vacuuming that interior gotta be a b**** to do every time you drive it. Might as well drive barefoot. LOLOL!
  12. When I recently looked at the tail end of the Vette, I knew the tail lights had to be either Camaro or Monza. I thought the same of the Camaro lenses. Too tall and long, so it had to be from the Monza. I do recall seeing that kit in the 70s but I cannot remember if I had got it too. I do remember doing the Charlie’s Angels van kit more than Farrah’s Foxy Vette kit though.... Back then, it looked like a cool kit to buy since we as teens, had posters of Farrah in our bedrooms. LOL! They were targeted to appeal to teen boys who did build models back then. One poster mentioned the Travolta Trans Am. I remember that kit when it came out. So many kits from television shows were the rage every now and then. A-Team van, Fonzie’s motorcycle, 240 Robert police helio and truck (?), Sweathogs car, CHiPs motorcycle, Airwolf helio, Riptide Vette, Movin’ On Semi, Start Trek, Lost in Space Robot, original Batman car, etc... Movies kits were also popular then from Star Wars, Batman, to Fast and Furious.
  13. Yup. The book Mike999 mentioned is one I want to get. Saw another called Last Dogfight over Tokyo. A story about the Japanese Zeroes attacking 6 Navy aircrafts on patrol (2 returned to the carrier) on the day Japan surrendered to end WW2. There is another I can’t recall I wanted too.
  14. I came across this article about Farrah’s Foxy Vette kit over at FSM forums. Remember that one? Anyway, here’s the article: https://adamrehorn.wordpress.com/amt-1-25-farrahs-foxy-vette-oob/ Here’s the box cover of the kit:
  15. Bingo! That's my point. :))
  16. Model prices vs inflation.... here’s the thing: the cost of everything, including model kits has been going up for years and years. So how is this any different? Sure, it’s fun to see how much kits cost back then but I don’t see how it’s a prices vs inflation issue. Some things do go up in value because of rarity, condition, and/or popularity of items. Coins, stamps, die cast Hot Wheels, toys, sports cards, antiques, classic cars/trucks, etc.. are good examples. Model kits are no different. Think about it, you never see a price guide on model kits anywhere. It doesn’t exist. So, how do these so-call “model kit experts” determine a price on a kit based on condition, rarity, or popularity of hard to find kits?
  17. If your Walmart sell magazines, books/novels are nearby. Depends on where your magazines are displayed, you will find the novels/books. Some stores displays them up front by registers, others by electronics.
  18. I’m a member of a few forums. My first model forum was FSM until I was banned because of their moderators quick reaction over innocent posts. I rejoined again under new screen name and was monitored again by the moderators his being banned for the second time in a year. LOLOL! During my first time at FSM, I joined a far much better forum over at Scale Plastic Aircraft Models; aka: SPAM. It’s not just aircrafts but all genre of model kit are discussed there. SPAM isTHE best forum site outside FSM. I joined here a couple years because of car models alone. The other is Scale Model Addict. I don’t frequent there often but do stop in from time to time.
  19. My local Walmart I frequent to still had some left. No more Grumpy’s Vega or ‘69 Ford Torino Cobra Fastback kits. Mainly ‘67 and ‘70 Chevelles, ‘66 Nova Pro Street, ‘57, ‘64 & ‘67 Impala SS, Sonoma Truck, Deserter 4x4 truck, GMC Blazer(?), a few Coca Cola edition kits, Semi trucks, Sci fi kits, and couple others I can5 remember what they were. Definitely no more Nova wagon kits.
  20. My first thought was around November when I first heard about it. Then just this past Spring, they stocked more kits. My guess it’s bi annually - spring and late fall.
  21. Now I know which one you’re talking about - the commuter or Commercial airliner kit. Saw those too the last time I stopped there a few weeks ago.
  22. The old Lindberg battle damaged option aircraft kits? Yeah, I’ve been seeing those at my local Ollie’s store.
  23. Yup... it seems that all the Walmarts are stocking the same kits you’re seeing. Let’s hope Ollie’s has something good again.
