Nothing but very little snow, windy, and the dreaded freezing rain the last couple days. Freezing rain/rain pretty much melted the snow dusting we’ve had. Weather is expected to get milder later in the week.

Well, it is expected due to the holiday last minute shopping rush. No shortages of my usual grocery items at my Walmart but if there are, I do have 3 other grocery store options. Not a big deal. I doubt it's going to get worse before it gets better. That's the problem with folks reading too much into CNN or the news. Everybody gets caught up in the hype and hysteria on this so-called "shortages" over nothing. Take a deep breath and relax.... Walmart shouldn't be the only store to find what you're looking for. Target, Hobby Lobby, Micheal's, local drug store chains, grocery stores, etc...

You mean that same idiot who bragged about his huge vintage car kit find on YouTube? Pfffftttt....

And let’s not forget, dealerships won’t haggle and come down on sticker price on used cars since no one has newer models in the showrooms or their lots. One of the biggest pet peeve I hate and everyone hates is folks riding on the passing lane holding up the flow of traffic. Why? If you can’t go with the flow of traffic, get out of the passing lane!!!

What kits do you collect?
BlackSheep214 replied to carbuilder1950's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I don’t collect kits for the sake of never building them. What’s the point in collecting if you’re not going to build? If I see a kit I want, I’ll buy it. Lately, I’ve acquired a few kits from my youth years through eBay and other sources with intent to have another go at it - not for nostalgic reasons to collect. On occasion, if the mood is there, I’m always looking for a few particular kits to add to my stash like Force 440, Smokey the Convoy Chaser, Dodge 4x4 Pick-up Camper, Streaker Vette, a few old Monogram Tom Daniels Design kits to name a few if the price is right. I’ll buy kits I want when I know I’ll regret later. I’ve had my fair share I passed over them in the past and had wished I hadn’t. -
No restocking at my local HL.... Same old, same old....

Mine is pretty easy. A short list.... sort of... LOL! Any Classic 60s era Ford Mustang the Northeast Auto Museum has raffled off if I had won it. LOLOL! 1964 Dodge Dart GT, hardtop or convertible. Must have slant 6. 1972 Chevelle SS 454 ‘55, ‘56 or ‘57 Chevy sedan or Nomad Hellcat or Demon Dodge Challenger (2017 - 2020; any year) 2017 or 2018 Alpha Romeo Giulia 1967 GTO 1953 Chevy Corvette The Dart, Chevelle, the Tri-Five sedans or Nomad, and the Goat, I’d have the guys at Martin Brothers (Iron Resurrection) do the restomod work for me. I would love to have Shorty to do the paint job.

Minimal paint build
BlackSheep214 replied to junkyardjeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have seen some incredible polishing work on bare plastic. Can it be done? Absolutely. -
Why would this be locked when I’ve been wondering why she hasn’t been around lately?
-
Haven’t seen her builds in a long while. She did some pretty good work on her builds.

What did you see on the road today?
BlackSheep214 replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Stupid drivers that have forgotten how to drive in snow... -
Yup.... the same at my local HL store. I did pick up Tamiya Weathering Sets A, B, & C for myself. Got them for 40% off each for final cost of $27 and change. They were $11.99 each.

That too... Ford trucks are the worse as you’ve already mentioned. It doesn’t even help if you slightly move your eyes to the right to avoid the bright oncoming LED headlights. Those LED lights never should have been added to new cars.

Here’s the thing.... not everyone wants a “digital magazine”. I mean come on... we all want / prefer the print version over a digital glitchy version. I think Kalmbach’s thinking will be the death knoll for FSM in due time. A magazine thinning the pages & reducing to 6 issues per year, throw in 4 digital copies? No thanks.

I’ve had folks pull over to the side of the road thinking they’re being tailgated when I’m actually 4 cars behind them. They’ll either flip you off, wave their hands angrily, or flash their headlights on you for no reason. ? I’m like what’s their problem? LOLOL!!! Some folks are too testy these days over nothing.
-
Yeah... I’m seeing a lot of that lately. Running red lights, speeding excessively, cutting folks off without looking, etc... I’ve also noticed some women aren’t paying attention to what they’re doing whether they’re too busy fixing their hair or texting at a traffic light when the light has turned green.

I’ve started to read this WIP thread as well and wondered what was the status on this. So sorry to hear she passed away. Pancreatic cancer is a tough. I lost a dear close bro-in-law to pancreatic cancer back in 2002 so I know the feeling of losing someone to a terrible type of cancer. Perhaps you will finish in her honor?

How did I miss this one!?! Looking fantastic! I love the color choice too! Well done! I may have to go the PE route for the grill. Looks really good! I need to get 2; one for the Bell Air and the other for the Nomad.

Watched Bee Bop Cowboy series and Red Notice on Netflix. Both entertaining to watch.

The Official EBay Discussion Thread
BlackSheep214 replied to iamsuperdan's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I, too rarely go on eBay these days. The only time I go to eBay is if I’m looking for something particular. -
Not to mentioned I was banned in their forums twice already. ROFL! Aside from the moderators being .... dare I say it? Too sensitive and liberal. Of course, let’s not forget they have their own little “forum police” in GMorrison

FSM.... pfffftttt..... a sorry excuse of a model magazine. Subscription reduced to 6 per year, digital copy offered 3 (?) times a year, same subscription price. It won’t be long before that rag (and their forums) folds.
