  1. It’s all over NY. Our Utica school district superintendent sent a letter asking our governor to send National Guards to drive the school buses. Even that news broke on MSN a few days ago. Sad thing and the real story is Birnie bus got outbidded by an outside bus company Durham with a signing bonus of $1500. Well, that fell flat because 12 bus drivers were promised that bonus money. They never got it and Durham bus company stalled on the bonus money. so they all called in sick. End result? They got fired. Oh it’s a mess here. Had the superintendent kept Birnie Bus, none of this would had happened. Other districts are offering 2, 3, 4 times more for sign on bonuses. All new hires got it except Utica CSD bus drivers. I’m just glad my kid graduated from high school this past June.
  2. You know what they say.... money talks, BS walks....
  3. It used to be you can get a flu shot anytime at your local Walgreens. Now, you need to make an appointment. Why? There’s no line at the pharmacy line! Stupidity and a waste of time.....
  4. Too many to count growing up during the 70s and 80s. At least our parents knew what parenting is then. A smack on your behind with the palm of their hand or worse.... those wooden spoons for punishment never hurt anyone then. Who can forget when you know you’re in trouble is when your parents call you by your full name - first, middle and last name. LOL! Today? They’ll call it “ child abuse”. Give me a break. Today, these snowflakes parents are getting too soft in the disciplinary department. And they wonder why kids today are mouthy and out of control.
  5. If I stop by my local Ollie’s store and found they stocked the same kits last year, then I wasted a trip there.?
  6. It’s normal to feel burned out from model building. I’m at a standstill because I can’t seem to find time to get to the bench lately.
  7. Already!? This week’s flyers didn’t mention model kits in the stores. Our flyer usually announces model kits in their stores around early - mid November.
  8. Meh... not something I would use for storage of hobby paints in an old refrigerator. Cold weather if stored in garage or other cold space can make it cold inside. But hey, if it works for you.... good for you. But do keep us updated if your paint suffered any issues in that type of storage.
  9. Yup.. same old, same old at my local Hobby Lobby.
  10. As I said...just you wait and see. It’s going to get worse, not better. Cost cutting in all the wrong places except his salary.
  11. And a lot of paint....LOL!
  12. Really? Then you haven’t read this article. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/mail-delivery-slower-usps-october-1/
  13. Hammer... ROFL!!!!
  14. Now that.... is ugly! Curious to the mods... since when is the word “BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH” became offensive for the forums? It’s used in everyday language. It’s not like it’s a swear word.
  15. Actually, that's kinda cool looking. Ugly? Not if it's done right. If you want to see ugly, look no further that those idiotic ricers. Not only they look ugly, they sound like BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH too.
  16. For the love of God, GET RID OF THIS TAUNTING RULE!!! Didn't watch the game but caught this on the news. 'What an absolute coward call': Game-changing taunting enrages NFL community (msn.com) A taunting call on the Eagles defender but not on the Buc's receiver after a tackle?!?! I call BS and a coward call on the refs officiating the games.
  17. A really poor, lame excuse. Who are they kidding? COVID is running rampant in every state across this nation. How long does everybody needs this excuse for any delay at all. I personally think today's generation of employees are being too soft with ZERO ambition to get the job done they're being paid to do. Look around, everybody is hiring but no one wants to work. Why? Because they're getting paid more collecting unemployment than working. Even if those seeking work and they're turning down job offers because they want to get paid the same salary when they were let go from their previous jobs. I don't feel sorry for those remaining on unemployment. Just wait til they reach retirement age, they won't get much in social security or a pension (or not even a pension at all) That's how stupid these young folks are. They don't think about retirement because they have plenty of time to worry about that. They're still young and that's the last thing on their minds.
  18. Now wait a minute... we don't collect kits. We collect styrene. ROFL!!!!
  19. IBTL... In Before The Lock. LOL!!!
  20. Blame your USPS Postmaster General, Louis DeJoy. He is THE biggest idiot to come up with a business model if slowing mail by cutting cost AND raising prices. What's even worse? A standing US President cannot nor has the power to remove him from office. Only the Board of Governors of the Postal Service can. If we can contact those Board of Governors of the Postal Service and demand DeJoy to overturn this ridiculous business plan, we'd be in better off. Prices of stamps going up I can deal with. But slowing mail and raising prices with a side of cutting cost makes no sense. Since when did the cost of Air Mail suddenly a concern for this tool? He's basically wants to eliminate domestic mail via air all together and send it via ground - truck or train.
  21. I agree. Is it Instagram or the an outside source. If it's an outside source that has ZERO clout with Instagram. If I were you, I'd look at the Instagram policy on posting pics. I have a feeling it's not Instagram. Perhaps someone who frequently uses Instagram can chime in and tell us if that's true or not.
  22. That is a cool looking truck of yesteryear! I wonder if anyone will get inspired to replicate that.
  23. Back in my younger years, Testors square bottles, tube glue, basic tools (Sprue cutters, tweezers, Xacto Hobby knife set, etc...) rattle can and a few Testors Model Master enamels were available in m6 teen years. Kits were mostly cars, a few aircraft, ships, sci-fi/space, armor or two. Today... a wide variety brands of paints; acrylics and enamels - still have Model Master enamels from my younger years and square bottles. Now have Model Master acrylics, Mission Models, Humbrol, LifeColor, PollyScale, Tamiya, Gunze/Mr. Color paints Still use the old standby tube glue. Now have a variety of glues: Tamiya liquid glue, 10 second liquid glue, CA glue (thin, medium and thick) Gorilla glue (blue cap). A couple Sprue cutters, Xacto hobby knife sets (2), Dremel tool with different attachment and bits, micro drill bits, Hobby saw, sanding sticks/paper, airbrushes (3), and other miscellaneous tools. Kits I do now: Automotive, armour, ships, aircrafts, and a couple Sci-fi kits. I’ve been fortunate to acquire a few kits from my past for a do-over and others I wanted to do but never did buy in my youth/teen years.
  24. I did that kit a while back. You won’t be disappointed.
