  1. Looking forward to seeing your vision. As for detailing. Start simple. Radiator hoses, and spark plug wires and distributor. A wired distrubutor is fairly cheap on the aftermarket or to build yourself. Wiring the spark plugs is fairly easy by just finding the right engine in a google image search. After that, add other stuff. Fuel lines. Heater hoses. That's all a model car really needs.
  2. Man, that looks terrific. Great detailing and paint. Real great work.
  3. I have the same kit and I'm itching to get to it. Yours looks terrific. Nice work.
  4. I fell very lucky that we have a successful HTUSA here in Boise. He caters to the RC crowd mostly, and provides repair for those hobbyists. However he was smart enough to jump on the Gundam bandwagon early and has a great selection of that. He keeps cars stocked fairly well. My club meets there and we spend money every time. I have seen failed LHS's and successful ones. It seems to me that those that are smart, pay attention to what the current trends are, and adapt to fill those needs have a much better shot at being successful. Oh yeah, and location, location, location.
  5. Very well. I'll try to take some photos this weekend. The Container Store sells similar cases for all sorts of collectibles.
  6. Unstocked shelves are a clear indication of a business in trouble because they find that they can't keep shelves shocked and take home a paycheck.
  7. When a friend offered me the kit, I instantly knew what I was going to do with it. Online, I can NOT find a '32 Chrysler roadster that is in any condition other than concours stock. So therefore I must do something to remedy that. A beach racer is something I've wanted to add to my collection, in any case. The plan- hop up the engine a bit, lose the fenders. That's about it. I may lower the nose just a mil or two. When I started the engine, a flaw that was immediatly noticable is the exhaust pipe on the intake instead of the manifold. Although hard to notice when the parts are on the engine, I had to fix it. So far the block is assembled and primered and prep has started for the chassis parts. The trickiest part will be cutting up the fenders, to remove the flooring. I've modified the intake for a three carbs. Hope you like. More soon. As always, comments and criticisms are kindly welcome.
  8. I quite agree. 30 to 80 tons with a computer at the wheel. What could go wrong?
  9. I cannot express the terror that fills me when I think of this.
  10. Hmm. I'm thinking you mispelled the word "shut". This looks real good. Not a bad homage to the real movie car. The lack of matching wheels used on the movie car, must have given you fits.
  11. I had just about the same plan for this kit, except I was gonna try the AMT Phantom Vicky windshield. Real nice work Curt. I dig it.
  12. You have a unique build style that I really like. This has a "what I would want to race if money was no object" kind of look and think it's terrific.
  13. I don't always check out the exotics threads cuz they just aren't my bag, but I'm glad I did here. Real nice paint, clean building and real patience dealing with a lousy kit. Outstanding work.
  14. Very interesting. I will be following.
  15. Terrific work! The attention to detail is superb.
  16. Outstanding.
  17. Dude. That is slick. Nice work.
  18. Terrific work. I surely approve.
  19. Man that is surely nice. I really love the resto-mod nature of it combined with great colors and stripes. Terrific work. I'm a fan.
  20. I love this. If it was any lower it would be subterranean.
  21. I quite agree. This forum is a constant source of information and inspiration. My daily lunchtime zen time.
  22. Dude that is outstanding! It has all of the innovation and imagination that we've come to expect from our Cannonball crew. Well done!
  23. I know. It's still a little surreal now. I do miss the Tampa Bay contests and all the cool people. I have a great club here but fewer contests to be sure.
