  1. Looks great, nice work!
  2. Thanks, guys! No lie detected, this one had to be set aside more than once before I could finish it!
  3. Finally got the Blue Mule wrapped up after way too long on the bench. AMT Ford LNT-8000 frame, Aussie Resin Models cab, and everything else kitbashed or scratch built. I used the ModelTruckin decals, which were excellent quality but nowhere near sized or shaped to fit this particular cab. Lots of cutting, splicing, Micro Sol, and custom-mixed paint to get it looking as it does. I still whiffed on a few of the details - not helped by having multiple trucks used for filming and even more replicas built since it came out - but overall I'm satisfied with the results. A full writeup on what I did is available here, and as always any comments/criticisms are welcome!
  4. I like the way this turned out, nicely done!
  5. Great job on this!
  6. You're right, had a brain fart in my previous response.
  7. Glad this got bumped, I missed it before. Awesome job on the build!
  8. Thanks, guys! Yup, just happy coincidence that I had the two on the bench at the same time and got to thinking "I wonder if...?" It fit surprisingly well!
  9. Looks great in that color, nicely done!
  10. I believe those cycle fenders were from the early releases of AMT's '32 Ford 2-in-1 kits. The wheels look like Mugen MF10s, not sure what they may have been on originally. They're often paired with Hondas, I'd start my search there.
  11. The last Simpsons build this year is the famous Mr. Plow. It started as Revell's GMC Snow Plow kit, and received a new nose, new wheels, running boards, a custom plow attachment, and taillights made from the plow rig lights. A full writeup is available here, and as always any comments/criticisms are welcome! With Homer's other ride: "Mr. West! You said there was a job for me!" "There was. When I called you. Forty. Five. Minutes. Ago."
  12. A couple more builds have been added to my Simpsons collection, first up is the Canyonero. I started with Lindberg's old 1/20 Ford Explorer, since it was a decent shape and sufficiently oversized to look the part. Unfortunately, the plastic was very brittle and so extremely fiddly to try to modify - not sure if it's just the age of the kit, or if they were using a lousy formula at the time. I had a Revell Cougar that was released and built around the same time as this kit that had a similar plastic issue. Converted to a 4-door, added a 3D printed nose, modified the engine to a small block V8, and used wheels & tires frm MPC's Fall Guy GMC. A full writeup is available here, and as always any comments/criticisms are welcome! The whole family:
  13. Amazing what the addition of the lower bands can do, that looks so much better. The wheels on the yellow one look much better with the extra paint, too. Nice upgrades!
  14. That they do. Fortunately, the 1:1 doesn't exactly have a flawless paint job, so I have a lot of wiggle room when it comes to the model! ?
  15. Beautiful Olds!
  16. Very clean work, nicely done!
