Very cool and clean. the natural light in your photos makes it look 1:1 nicely done

Excellent! I love the roof graphics. Really nice finish on a very tidy build ?

Very tasty ride! lovely colour, too ? The photos look a bit distorted to me, (but that might just be the way it appears on my phone)

They're all brilliant, but as others have previously mentioned, the weathering on the Le Mans car is perfect. So that gets my vote -
Doesn't show it's age at all. colour/ wheels bang -on! nice survivor ?

Thanks again for the interest in this build, guys! Found some nice custom seats from the extra parts in the 65 Pontiac GP kit, along with a centre console. Flocked the carpet and replaced the kit wheel with one from the parts box. Added a turn signal stalk and chromed the column with a molotow pen -

It did break up a tiny bit with the candy paint. But that's probably because I decanted it from a rattle can and it goes on a bit thicker than nail polish. I left it a bit too long before I removed the tape. But the nail polish is a thinner layer, so dries very quickly and the tape can be removed easily after a few minutes, leaving a clean line. Also, the angle which you pull the tape, makes a difference. I pulled it flat along the line, rather than up and away from the surface. -
Top job on that chop! looking really good mate can't wait to see it under glass ?

LOL! Thanks everybody! I'm glad you approve. I have two 59 Impalas and a 62 Catalina in my stash, awaiting similar treatment. I'm itching to get started on the next (or maybe a wild paint job on a slammed BMW Isetta? Yes, really. It's next) This paint session taught me a lot and there's still more techniques to try. This was my first attempt with nail polish. I'm very pleased with how it flows in the airbrush. I mixed it about 1.5 thinner to 1 colour. Coarser metallic colours need about 2:1 or the needle clogs up. I sprayed at about 12 psi. if you haven't tried airbrushing nail polish, I urge you to have a go! It's SO much better than rattle can paint. It goes on thin, dries fast, and you can get some amazing pearls and flakes. I got two bottles for £3 at the local pharmacy. ? -

Finished applying the colours and peeled off the tape, today. Gonna let it all dry and harden properly, before it gets a light wet sanding and a clearcoat. I think I'm going to do another wild paint job on my next one. I really like the experiments in colour etc. -

Fantastic, Steve! beautiful foil work and the interior is superb. I have a sheet of those seat pattern decals. Seeing how good they look, makes me want to use them on my next 50's build. -

Got some bench time today ? I sprayed candy blue over the fingerprint design and did a lengthways fade over the silver lines, from trunk to hood. I lightly sprayed a metallic blue over the purple, in places. The hours spent applying the fine lines, seem to have been worth it. gotta do the centre panels next. No idea of colour combos, really. I l'll just make it up as I go along! -

Thanks very much, everyone. the interior will be jazzed up, a bit. But not thick fur, or oceans of velour! -

In contrast, the Barris version has a fair bit of room in the box and the sprues look like parts have been omitted. thanks for the offer of parts -

This kit had no stock option and I presume, less custom parts than the 'Heavy Chevy ' version of this kit, but you're right. It's a nice body style. -

Thanks man I didn't know it was called 'fingerprint '. You learn something new every day! I'm nervous about removing the tape, but the colour is going down thin, so hopefully I won't have that meniscus along the tape edge, which can cause problems ? -

Thanks for looking, guys. I had a go at masking the sides with a wavy pattern. Takes a while. I was hoping to get the blue flake on tonight, but it's late and I need food. -

Tamiya tape. It's the best I've found. I tried their flexible tape, but it kinks on tight radius curves. The tape so far, is for the silver lines and will mostly stay put until the end. I've got to finish the silver lines, hit it with another colour and mask again. I'm hoping the nail polish will go down thinner than auto paint and avoid the stepping of layers. thanks for the kind comments everyone -

Got a bit more done. Finished the roof and started the sides. I'm freestyling the design. Sometimes I go back and change it a bit. I'll add colour soon, then lay down more tape to make lines in different colours. -
Oh yeah ! this is gonna be crazy!

I thought I'd try out nail polish on this build. Never used it before, but it's proving to be very nice to work with. and it's cheap. Plus, the metallic particles are a much better scale than automotive paint. I just thinned it 2 parts thinner, 1 part colour. It's touch dry within a few minutes and goes on really smooth ? -
