That is SICK! Fantastic paint job and the interior is brilliant!
-
Yeah! Looks mean, alright! Nice clean build that I'd be proud to have on my shelf!
-
Awesome! I saw a D-type on the road last week. Looked amazing, growling through the leafy lanes of Surrey ? A superb build, by anyone's standards ??

Wow! What a beauty! Looks sumptuous in that colour! Nice work, mate! -
Looks 1:1 Sharp as a razor ? Your photos do it justice. Great stuff, all-round!

Looks just right. Beautiful paint. Great colour choice...gives it that extra special something.

I wondered if it was resin, when I saw the topic heading. You did a great job on it. Very handsome looking car.

I've had one of these on my shelf for a few years. Having seen the excellent job you did on yours, I want to give mine a go, now. I'm thinking about a Watson style paint scheme.. yours is super clean. Really nice build.

I have one of these waiting to be built. I gotta admit, the multi-part body has deterred me, somewhat! seeing how nice they can turn out, has made me want to have a go at it. nice repair job you did there. Looks great!

You nailed it! Great colour combo and the scallops were worth the effort ? I agree, this is a great kit. Worth every cent.

OUTSTANDING!! Man, you made it look REAL! I tried building a lowrider and I was pleased with it, until I saw this. The fine lines are superb. Even the valve covers got the treatment and I love the way you got the design to seamlessly extend from the hood to the dashboard. Easily one of the best I've seen. You should post on Layitlow.com the guys there will go mad for this ??

I second that! It looks rad! I love the interior details, such as the magazines and boards. Sehr schön! -
Very tidy work, Jonathan! Excellent decal work, too. Your photos do it justice, as well ?

I dig it, Pat! The paint job is perfect on a beach buggy. Very eye-catching and well done ?

"The Stig Collection" -Ferrari F40LM...street version

That's great! It has a menacing look in that gunmetal. I like the Stig figure. Makes it look like he's about to jump in and do a hot lap! Got any engine shots? -
Nice save! That's the part that sprang to mind when I saw you had a dodgy frame. I kept one in my stash, for the same reason. It's great to see old kits or builds, given new life. It'll be interesting to see how it's going to look, when you're done.

I second that! Always a pleasure to see your work in progress, or finished. I'm envy your wet look paint!

Now, that WOULD be good! I'll have to play around with some acetate and see if I can make something like that.- 61 replies

Austin Mini V-Tec rear engine (update 10 Oct)
geetee66 replied to geetee66's topic in WIP: Model Cars
While searching through my parts box, for a steering wheel, I came across some air scoops from the 1:32 Revell Chrysler New Yorker. I'm considering adding these to the sides...the engine's gotta breathe!- 61 replies

Austin Mini V-Tec rear engine (update 10 Oct)
geetee66 replied to geetee66's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Thanks guys I just painted the cage. I only meant to do a test on some spoons, but I ended up giving the body a first coat. Paint is Tamiya X-14 Sky blue, thinned 2:1 with Tamiya thinner.- 61 replies

Austin Mini V-Tec rear engine (update 10 Oct)
geetee66 replied to geetee66's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Made some modifications and devised a way to mount the engine. I had to remove the rear horizontal bar to fit the engine, after I installed more pipe work to the centre hoop. added some side bars too. now I've got to add some sort of structure for the rear shocks to bolt to.- 61 replies

Cheers Dan it's all done by eye, as the markings on my ruler are feint. It's not 100% , but as most of it hides behind bodywork...well.. s- 61 replies

Austin Mini V-Tec rear engine (update 10 Oct)
geetee66 replied to geetee66's topic in WIP: Model Cars
...so I made another one from thinner styrene rod. I started by putting wire posts in the ends of any vertical parts, and drilled corresponding holes in the floor pan. styrene always wants to return to its original shape. The wire posts helped keep everything in place while I attached the horizontal parts. I used Rocket and Tamiya extra thin cement and it made a good bond.- 61 replies

It's been a while... Work prevented progress ? I had a go at one roll cage, but it looked too fat and I didn't like the shape:- 61 replies

And a quick wheel pose, just to see how it's going to look. Luckily, the O/D of the tyres, is the same as the kit tyres, so no arch adjustment required.- 61 replies
