  1. I've now given it a silver base coat, which will outline the patterns. I have some decals I want to try and involve in the design, too. I made two line tape knives. I cut the chuck with a disc in my Dremel, so two blades fit side by side Also sandwiched a piece of 1mm card between two Stanley blades, for slightly wider lines.
  2. I was thinking of improving my airbrush skills and wanted to build something more or less OOB, and concentrate on trying out paint techniques. This popped up on eBay for £20. 38 years old and stil in cellophane! The box interior had that 'old' smell. The Barris decals are rub-on transfers and there's a sheet of self adhesive prismatic sticker material. I'm not going to use either of these, as I intend to paint designs on the body. I removed all the scripts and door handles. The mould seams n the body were feint but there were a few sink marks to deal with. I used the custom rear window and filled the gaps After a fruitless search for Pegasus wheels online, I opted for some nice rims from the AMT 60 Starliner kit, shod with narrow whites from the sorely missed Modelhaus.. A big canvas for some creativity!
  3. Wow! That's a top quality build! I love your work. So clean and well executed. superb
  4. Now, THIS is model building! True, I'd be miffed if I shelled-out a wedge for this and the parts were repelling each other. But, this is real modelling. It makes other builds look like assembly, not crafting parts. I hope you gain momentum on this project, Alex. It's well worth the effort, judging by what you've already achieved.
  5. Top build! extremely well done. The weathering is just right. Great that you've got a fond memory in 3D! ?
  6. Thanks very much guys it was great fun to build
  7. Sweet Erik at Pegasus got in touch with me. He says that overseas orders may be placed, but not via the website.
  8. I took your advice and used the nice rims from the 60 Starliner and mated them with Modelhaus thin whitewalls. I'd like wider tyres, but these give the desired effect. bad luck Pegasus, you lost a customer.
  9. Yeah, some of the wheels are a bit toylike but their Sovereigns, chrome reverse steels and Daytons are top notch. I have, Jim. They're out of stock of the styles I'm after. I saw 12 sets of D's go on eBay for a whopping £250. I kid you not! rarer than rocking horse manure
  10. Hmm... can't help thinking they would make more money if they pulled their finger out, a bit. Don't they realise how popular their wheels are? the online order form doesn't allow overseas shipping; which, in the 21st century, is very poor indeed. looks like I'll be paying top dollar on eBay, then. ( if any ever come up for grabs) or maybe someone with some business acumen will produce their own wheels and leave Pegasus to the annals of history.
  11. Does anyone know if Pegasus are still trading or producing their wheels? I can't buy them in the UK and despite emailing them, no reply or clue as to when they might be for sale again ?
  12. Razor sharp build excellent decal work and smooth paint ?
  13. Phat! Great to see an unusual kit given a facelift my buddy's sister had one of these, but it was a rust bucket. We broke the rear wheel off, doing handbrake turns in the swimming pool car park. She wasn't pleased.
  14. Thanks very much here the 1:1 that urged me to create
  15. Utterly astonishing! Truly, the benchmark of scale modelling. I'm viewing on my phone, but I'm going to look at this on a big screen, later. My buddy couldn't believe it was 1:16, until he saw the hand in shot
  16. They'll soon be on our streets! looks like a fun build
  17. I first saw one of these earlier this year and had to build a model of it. I made the roll cage, battery, fuel cell, exhaust, rear quarter windows, washer bottle, fan and radiator. Aftermarket parts were; Detail Master 5-point harnesses, 13" aluminium wheels from Scaleproductions.de, resin Honda B-18 V-Tec engine from Studio 81, resin louvres from Arcer fine transfers, aluminium extinguisher, braided hose and fittings, and a decal on the roof. I hope you like it
  18. Razor sharp build. Looks 1:1. Can't fault it in any way ?
  19. Sinister. Menacing. Fast. absolutely fantastic work
  20. Never enough!! nice work buddy
  21. Superb! I love the details, especially the wheels and the mesh in the air cleaner ???
  22. Super clean work. Really nice. I love it
  23. Looks 1:1 and your wheels are much nicer than the originals.
  24. Fantastic build! The turbos and other details are great. Looks kinda sinister, despite being white. top work
  25. Incredible! You must be able to build one with your eyes closed, by now! All are excellent. I'm in awe.
