SCRWDRVR replied to SCRWDRVR's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'll ave to check mine and see if they got any of those in... -
I use a small garage I made, I plan to put some stuff on the walls and detail it up some more but just haven't gotten to that yet.

I agree as well, I've traded with several people here, or just sent them parts they needed and have people do the same for me. I have a few I would really like to meet in person as well after talking to them in PM. There are truely some great people here...

Anyone remember old paint cans?
SCRWDRVR replied to RT6PK's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've heard that can be an issue, I guess I'm just lucky (knock on wood) I've only ever had one leak like that. -
69 Charger (Opinions)
SCRWDRVR replied to SCRWDRVR's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It is a modified chassis out of a 69 GTX Pro Street car Thank you, I think your right on the tires being in to far unfortunately with the shape of the charger body and the size of the tires I couldn't push them out anymore the clearance just wasn't there. I did use a wider rim back to push them out some but it wasn't enough. I am starting to like the idea of the flat hood, like you said it adds to the mystery... -
69 Charger (Opinions)
SCRWDRVR replied to SCRWDRVR's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think the reason I can't decide is the fact that I think it would look better with the flat hood with the lines of the car..... The old school drag car scoops maybe a good way to go. I'll have to check and see what scoops I have sitting around... -
Ok I've been building a 69 Charger I started a while back and was originally doing it stock but recently changed my mind and have converted to doing it Pro Street. I've upgraded the engine to a Hemi out of a 69 GTX and I'm trying to decide what way to go with whats on top of the engine. I can keep it an uncut hood and put the under hood duel quad set up on it or cut the hood and go high rise intake and a set of quads sticking out. What way do you guys think would look better with the car? I really can't make up my mind....

Anyone remember old paint cans?
SCRWDRVR replied to RT6PK's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Here is what I still have sitting on the shelf, I have a few more cans but no other style labels... 1 pretty new can and then a scatter from 80’s and 90’s I think for the rest -
Anyone remember old paint cans?

Oh yeah I remember them, I remember have some named as "transparent" which was basically a candy type of paint that you had to use silver or something for base coat. -
painting chrome trim/body
SCRWDRVR replied to peter havriluk's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I use a Molotow pen for all my chrome. It looks great for chrome out of a paint pen. I have learned a few things about it in the year I've been using it (2 pens the whole time by the way 1- 1mm and 1- 2mm) 1st the wetter you put it on the better it looks but it takes time to get used to doing fine lines with it and keeping it wet without putting to much on and 2nd don't touch it!!! after handled it looks more like aluminum than chrome so if your work is left out and not cased after you dust it will lose its shine. This kit is a rebuild of a kit I did 20ish years ago, all the chrome on it including bumpers are done with a Molotow 2mm pen -
Had another great trade with George Bojaciuk, thanks George And I wanted to thank Hi-Po for the kit donations, Thanks Terry...

Wheels for 70's NASCAR
SCRWDRVR replied to SCRWDRVR's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I’ll check them out thanks guys... -
It is a 1/16th 82ish Petty Grand Prix, I’ve been building it for about 30 years just can’t seem to finish it I work on it for about an hour and it sits for 6 months lol..... I’ve always been a Petty family fan though. The Charger is sweet, I just resently acquired a 1/16th Parsons Charger and a Petty Charger. Love the old school nascar...

I'm working on Bobby Allison's 1975 Matador and noticed the wheels in the kit are more like a modern race car and all the pictures of the car I see have what look like deep dish steel slots. Anybody know of a kits that comes with wheels like this?

Ever buy kits...just to "Pirate" parts?
SCRWDRVR replied to Southern Fried's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I have never bought a kit with the soul purpose of using it for parts, I recently (for the first time) bought a kit to get certain parts from it but still plan to build the kit just not with the custom parts I wanted from it.... -

AMT 69 GTX conv. and hardtop
SCRWDRVR replied to SCRWDRVR's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Perfect, thanks Snake... -
I have a AMT 69 GTX conv. kit that I'm parting out but I want a hardtop so my plan was to buy the pro street hardtop so I could have the tubbed chassis for another project and use the stock chassis out of the convertible. Anybody know any reason I can't use the conv. chassis in the hardtop? Are they the same?

1984 Ford Pickup - what's available?
SCRWDRVR replied to Jonathan's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I've always wanted a 80-86 F150 glue kit as I own a 86 F150 1:1 but have only ever saw a stepside until seeing the Snap kit in Casey's post. I did at one point take a 84ish Bronco kit and cut the body and put the back of the cab from a 94 on it to make the 86 truck but the bed from 86 to 94 is different. The contour over the wheel well changed, different tail gate and the tail lights are different as well. -
Looks to me like it’s drying out before it gets to the body. I would think one of two things possibly. Either switch to enamel reducer from the lacquer to slow the drying and/or turn you air pressure down a little to let the paint flow better. That would be my guess from what I see...
