Turn table for working on larger kits
SCRWDRVR replied to tbill's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Very good idea, I think I will have to pick one of those up, I have several trucks and 1/16th cars waiting for me and that would be handy on them... -
Something I noticed today MPC 72 GTO
SCRWDRVR replied to SCRWDRVR's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
All this time I thought I was just not putting them on, I know some of my older kits do have them. I have a 69 Cougar from my youth that had mirrors on it but the ones that don't I don't know if they came with them or not. Steve your work for sure is far better than mine and I can see why it is, your attention to detail is incredible. I will say seeing completed kits from people like you is what drives me to improve on my detail, I thank you. I am realistic though and know I don't have the patience to make anything like you do... -

Hmmmm guess I just never noticed before, since I got back into building I have been a little more picky and pay a bit more attention to detail. I guess that's why I noticed now... -
Something I noticed today MPC 72 GTO
SCRWDRVR posted a topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Hi All, I started prepping the MPC 72 GTO kit to paint today and figured I was in for some work since I've seen several posts about how bad of a kit it was but I figured I'd give it a shot. While prepping everything I noticed this kit doesn't have outside mirrors ? I think this is the first kit I can recall (although I'm sure there is more) that didn't have them -
I would agree, I've spent as much as $18 shipping kits for trades here..

No as said I've always wanted one I own an 05 Supercrew. They do however make a diecast of them, I have one in 1/64th and I have one I'm not sure of the scale it's a bit bigger than a 1/25th

We call it the Bumino lol -
I want to duplicate some vehicles from my families past but need some suggestions on 1. The 59 Elcamino I have, I need to find the Camaro and the 63 F100. The last pic is a 68 or 69 Elcamino with a skylark front clip but I wasn’t so sure on the tail lights

How do I black wash a grille ?
SCRWDRVR replied to Ctmodeler's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I use black waterbased acrylic. it won't mess up the chrome and if you get it somewhere you don't want it you just wipe it off. After it dries you can even clean spots you don't want, it will come right off and not damage the chrome... -

67 has the C shaped tail light I believe 68 has the small tails ad 69 the large, the side markers could have been removed? -

So true, it is great to have a place like this where in a way we get out of the house and can communicate with other people that share our interests. Definitely makes this a unique and special place... Thank you all... -

Black Molotow paint pen????
SCRWDRVR replied to 2zwudz's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I do use a black paint pen but its not a molotow. I use Elmers for colors, I have Black, White, Red, Blue, Silver, Gold, Yellow and Green. Only molotow I have is the chrome. -
Yeah looks like parts from 3 kits, enough to build one but if I can pick up a second chassis maybe two....
