  1. I wouldn't... but if you do try to purchase from Reliable Resin, use your credit card and/or Paypal and keep track of when you placed the order, so you can file a claim if he doesn't deliver. As an aside, I have the MPC '70 GTO and the rear bumper is too wide on that too. Finally - as Bill and the others said, use a Pontiac engine. A BBC is nothing like a Pontiac.
  2. Much better, I can't stand those huge wheels on old cars. Would look even nicer with redlines.
  3. I looked at stretching a '65 bed, but with everything being moulded in one piece, I decided it would be as easy to make a new bed. I used the custom (Chevy) fenders from an AMT '53 Ford, but had to add .060" to the mounting faces to widen them. Still in progress, but it's getting there.
  4. Yes, I've used GIMP for years. I also use Drawplus SE which is a free (with limitations) vector graphics program. I have used Adobe Illustrator and had a Creative Cloud account, but for my needs, including my day job, those free programs are more than sufficient and I said goodbye to Adobe some time ago.
  5. Fair enough. I do have that issue of HRM so I've just dug it out. The article discusses both transverse and dual spring suspension. Most of the photos are of the dual spring kit, but either way, the frame was lopped of in front of the firewall and replaced with 2x4 box section.
  6. Hot Rod, April '67. Blair's Speed Shop kit IIRC.
  7. The ones on the C pillar, rotated 90 degrees. Nice work apart from that slip. http://www.slixx.com/images/1954p.gif
  8. +1. Leave it as a time capsule. I had that Superbird for Christmas 1987, fond memories, but gone now. I wish I had some of my old builds intact.
  9. The axle was moved forward 2" on these, IIRC.
  10. I really need to finish that one. Paint went badly, so I stripped the cab.
  11. Who has the tooling for the Jo-Han kits that Testors reissued?
  12. Hard to believe there are people still not using Adblock. Add to that, NoScript which is even more important. If you're on Facebook, add Facebook Disconnect as well.
  13. "Not cheap" doesn't sound encouraging. I hope Moebius picks up the '59 Dodge. I'd really like to see that, even if it's the old promo style with no interior.
  14. I guess I should be excited about the wheelstander, but I'm unlikely to build one that way. Still fond of the kit though. The CMG car is a Dodge 330, no? No such thing as a Dodge 300, unless you count the D & W series trucks.
  15. I mentioned the GTO on page 1, but nobody seemed to notice. All the '70s and later issue '57 Chevy hardtops in my stash have the FI, a 6x2 manifold and a blower manifold.
  16. Revell '66 GTO? There's the Monogram '64 GTO as well, but 1/24 and I can't remember how good the carbs are.
  17. That's not a C6; the C6 was introduced for the '66 model year. The T-Bolt has the heavy duty Lincoln HX/LX large case version of the MX auto - totally different animal from the C6..
  18. Going by the side trim and the position of the side marker, that's a '68.
  19. IIRC, the AMT '66 Fairlane has a decent C6. I presume the '67 Cyclone too.
  20. That's a 426 Hemi, a totally different engine. There were no tunnel rams for early Hemis in the '60s, other than DIY efforts like the Ramchargers setup. Aftermarket tunnel rams were developed for MP and Pro Stock applications using then-current production engines - BBC, late Hemi, Boss 429 etc. so there would have been no demand for one for an early Hemi. Gassers still using early Hemis in the late '60s were mostly blown or ran fuel injection.
  21. I like the old Revell '57 and I think it's the best of the three. The '55 looks a bit flat fronted and the fit of the doors and body parts on the '56 was abysmal. The biggest issue to me with the '57 is the clunky front bumper. I''m inclined to dig one out of the stash and build is as a bumperless gasser, like the one I did 30 years ago and lost.
  22. Funny, because to me, the new stuff is fugly and has no style or elegance. I find those above "heavy" looking with clunky styling. One man's meat... I'm not holding my breath for anything interesting from Italeri, I suspect military and aircraft kits are the priority. We'll be lucky if we get another boring Volvo or Scania.
  23. Small world - I believe I sold that one to you. Nice job.
  24. I believe I have it.
  25. Let us know how you get on with fitting the dash top to the main dashboard part.
