  1. They had Dark Red, Burgundy and Maroon.
  2. Paint looks good! I think an interior a shade off of the body color would look nice in it.
  3. I never paid much attention to the grille. I put a photo etch grille in mine. Don't know if it helped it or hurt it. I may have to dig that junk out and finish it. The hold up has been the chassis has over spray in the color I don't want to use on the body.
  4. Ray, if you're not in a big hurry, I'm thinking I have a set from an MPC Viper Vette. It may take a while to locate them.
  5. Very cool looking little hot rod! The paint job is exceptionally nice! Nice work!
  6. Such a well done little hot rod! The color really suits it and has a great shine! The Ardun looks really cool nestled between the frame rails. As always, it has all of the right parts and perfect stance! Excellent work Dennis! You nailed it!
  7. Anything but the wire wheels! I like the look of the Cragars also. Maybe a little lower profile tire for the front. Another thought is the Ansen slots from the Revell Willys gasser.
  8. I fixed the quarters on one years ago. It takes some hacking. But, it makes a big improvement. I got it painted. Didn't like it. Stripped it and got it back in primer. But, haven't touched it since. I need to finish it sometime. Everything is done except for the body.
  9. I hope they improved the fit of the grille and made a more correct looking dash. Those were horrible in the '68. The wheel well lips needed work also. But, they're a pretty easy fix. I'll still buy a couple of them. One for my brother and one for myself.
  10. I don't know on this. To me, it looks fake. Just look at the International Harvester sticker. No way the lettering would still be that clean and bright after all that time under water. There's also things on the engine that doesn't look right. With a light shining on it to photograph it, there should be a shadow from the chain. There's too many things that look molded in like the clutch pedal, manifold and muffler. Note the lack of slots on the grille. No space at the rear of the engine. Looks Photoshopped especially around the steering wheel and hood. If it's real, it's the most fake looking real photo I've ever seen. I think it's a well weathered diecast.
  11. That's a nice looking Road Runner Carl! As always, your paint looks smooth as glass!
  12. That's a nice looking Road Runner Keith! The day two look suits it! Are the decals from the kit or aftermarket?
  13. The Hobby Lobby near me had one left on the shelf. I was tempted for a minute. But, there were other things I needed more.
  14. Thanx! Don't know. Never considered them. Originally, I had the flying saucer looking wheel covers that came in the kit on it. Didn't take long to tire of those and I switched them out.
  15. Not necessarily an experiment. More of a test run. Mainly, I wanted to see what the blue looked like on a body. Secondly, I wanted to see if the red would work with the blue. On the chop, I actually had to increase the height of the back glass as the chop had literally given it the mail slot look.
  16. I built this around four years ago. It was mainly a test mule for the colors that I was considering for another project. The top got a 3.5 mms chop, louvers added to the hood and custom tailgate, the recess for the Corvette lights on the rear fenders filled, cab lights were painted to look like taillights, the section behind the grille was removed to recess the grille, firewall smoothed and suspension lowered. Originally, I had wheel covers from the kit on it. But, I couldn't stand looking at them any longer and replaced them with the chrome reverse wheels from an AMT '36 Ford. Paint is Dupli Color Bahama Blue and Bright Red with clear. Thanx for checking it out!
  17. Actually, the whole tail section droops too much making the hump look too high. I corrected one years ago. Had it painted. Didn't like it. Stripped and primered it. Lost interest and haven't touched it since. Everything else is done.
  18. Thanx to everyone for the great comments! I had plans of building the '70 Mustang, '70 Chevelle, '71 'Cuda and '69 Judge (all from Monogram) in the same style. I built the 'Cuda. But, I never got around to the rest of them.
  19. I have body sanded once again and ready for final primer. I was actually surprised at the shape it was in. Just had a couple of spots that needed more attention. I drilled out the headlights to prepare for reflectors and lenses. I actually broke the driver's side. The styrene it's made from is so brittle! I'm hoping the Revell grille will fit so that I can open it. No way I would attempt it with this grille. I also cut the hood trim away and glued it to the hood. I cut the tail panel loose from the rear bumper as it has a hole busted in it that had been repaired. The trunk got cut loose and detail added to the underside. I added the rain gutter and gasket detail to the opening. I had to add a filler panel between the tail lights to have something to glue the gasket detail to. I'll also be adding latch detail to it. The interior is now cut apart. The Sports Coupe door panels are different from the sedan's. So, I'm going to improve them the best I can. I'll add arm rests, window cranks and door handles. I reworked the bucket seats and added brackets to get them up off of the floorpan. The rear seat only needed the bottom portion leaned back slightly. It may need to be trimmed to fit the Revell floor pan. Have to see when I get that kit in hand. The dash got repaired and the ashtray, glove box and defroster/speaker grille lines scribed in. Still a lot to do once I get the donor kit. But, I'm making pretty good progress.
  20. That's what I'm going to do.
  21. The instructions could be wrong. I would suggest doing some research.
  22. Could someone who has built this kit please measure the wheelbase? I'm thinking about putting one under a '60 F-100 and would like to know if it will work before I buy one. I'm going to make the '60 a short bed. I know the Foose pickup has had the front wheels pushed forward. But, I'm thinking if the wheelbase isn't off too much, I can deal with it.
  23. It's looking good Dennis! One thing you may want to check is the oil pan. The sump is usually at the front on pickups. Not sure about the '60 and earlier though. But, given the shape of the oil pan sump, I'm thinking it should be towards the front.
