  1. Man thats a nice paintjob, and so flat! I have't managed to lay it down that flat with the AB yet.. any special metod you use or just practice?
  2. Since I decided this week to buy my old 1:1 back and will have delivery in two weeks or so I really wanted to do some model work on these. And I managed to get a chassi from a Monogram 1/24 ‘70 Chevelle fitted to my printed 1974 Laguna and interior test fitted. i managed to make two monogram 1/24 NASCAR chassis modified with cages and all to fit my original MPC and new reissue of the same MPC kit. As well as I got a rear fender located on the Pepsi one.
  3. @RockinRoller nice to se a Laguna entering!! I love these cars, and I have one 1:1 Malibu of these years as well. regarding the chassis, that chassi is nothing as what they had more what the movie car had since that’s a original car and not a race car. So a chassi for the movie car you would be best of with swapinh in a chassi from any of the earlier Chevelle a or Buicks the interior are available as files for printing now, thank good. If you want a race car, a GM monogram nascar from the ’80s fits good with minor adjustments. I have understood that they actually ran with original chassis that got modified and I do have a lot of pictures of period correct ones, but it depends on how period correct you want to be. 🙂 for me the Monigram chassis are good. I know a place in EU that carry those kits so pm me if interested and I can give you the link. o, and if you didn’t notice in the movie it’s a Laguna until they paint it gray, after that it’s a Monte Carlo. Here is one of mine:
  4. Nice paint work! That LX Torana is something I could see myself driving.

  6. Traditionaly you are right, but again that car is french so everything might be different

  8. I have started on the trottle linkage.. and 1h later i have a movable link. I used stretched sprue for al bolts and also the rod. Mr hobby links where used.
  9. Nice project! Thunder ranch would also work as a name. 🐂🤠
  10. Looks flat and nice now. Se my posts above
  11. The cloth I use, and a similar detailer which really brings the shine back. And I think you can skip wax with that one.
  12. I would work more with the polishing compounds and make sure to use a good microfiber cloth, I have found the truetlwax orange one with long “fur” to be the best. I usually cut pieces of it so I have good sizes to work with. And when you are done wash it with a good automotive carwash and Finnish with a detailer spray from your local auto store they you use with the good long haired microfiber cloth. I can take a picture later of the products I use.
  13. I guess its this one, original issue MPC Yarborough ’74 Chevelle. Pepsi one in front
  14. I have been using fine and finnishing from Tamiya. But bought the coarse now when resuplying.
  15. @White Rabbit that looks absolutley beautiful and amazing! Seen allot of great things from them!
  16. Not for beeing in the group build but I did a update to my cannonball truck from the other year and aded decals
  17. Have been doing work on the fuel system plumbing and it’s coming along I think.
  18. Beautifully done ! Looks like fun but challenging 1/24 kit!
  19. Watch out though. If you use Tamiya TS paints as the base coats don’t use isopropyl alcohol since that actually takes away Tamiya TS paints since they are not a full laquer some how.
  20. Welcome! Glad to see you here as well. You are most welcome to join, and I am looking forward to see what you bring!
  21. Man that sounds really cool! I like your plan for it! And original restorations is ok but it takes guts and vision to make a good hot rod! Go for it!
  22. As long as you use plenty of water when sanding paint does not stick in the micro mesh so you can use it for a lifetime I guess. I have had mine for 20 years.
  23. I managed to get some motor work done, pump drive have been modified and added a driveshaft for it. The hen aded nuts so I can start doing the piping. Also groved all the pulleys so I can make new belts later.
  24. Got some work done on the rear end and front suspension, made coils out of 0,6mm red wire and installed everything. Took a steering linkage from a 635 bmw and shortened the track of it. I think I have to do a simple lowering in front by gluing the front discs and hub onto the upright in the height I want. i also managed to shorten the drive shaft and install a swaybar and links.
