  1. Thanks Carl!
  2. Nice start! My 2 cents ors that it could be a bit lower but that’s just one mans opinion 🙂
  3. It’s an epic looking livery, so striking in many ways! Thanks! Jes I saw that and I have now ordered two sets, one for Ronny’s lotus 78 in 1:20 scale and one made for the BMW 635csi which have the similar proportions as this one. The 1:20 should be around 25% bigger but since a f1 is so small I thought that it might work with some at least. Worst case, which might be easier in the end, I know there is 0,5mm masking tape for curves that I could use.
  4. I have always wanted to make a garage diorama, so much that me and a friend bought the fujimi kit back in early ‘00s. A while back I bought a backdrop from Scale production and now when working on my MB I wanted to take a photo in the backdrop but it felt strange to just put it on the ground so I started by making the lift and some other equipment. And now I have started I will continue😁 I even scarped a bike together from parts in my PB just to have some thing in the background.
  5. I was watching a documentary when building to night about The Super Swede, Ronnie Pettersson, a great guy and a great driver that where faster than his teammate Andretti. But ended tragically in 1978. So in 1975 he would have been in his prime and been needing to blow of some steam! So I might, if I find a way to do the classic lotus and J&P black and gold paintjob and maybe go with some decals even though I know it won’t be subtle when beeing perused by Smokey. Shaping of the body is coming along but nothing to show yet really.
  6. Super neat chevelle! I have had the same problem with lugnuts before i got a printer. after that it has never been an issue again I just print some!
  7. Neat sectioning! and that tecunice seems good! What i have com to use latley is CA and bakingpowder/bikarbonat. That makes for a stong bond as well and wont usaly break of that easily.
  8. Thats Great! Could you please ad the ad here in the tread, would be greatly arpriciated! What else would you ahe needed, a CB and A Fuzzbuster, Laser jamer? Binoculars?
  9. wasn’t that the later Silverado? But not stepside though.. probably a bunch of these kits I never heard about.
  10. Nice progress son your builds man! Nice to se them coming along.
  11. Got some garage props built and painted. To my photo backdrop since it was so much brick otherwise!
  12. I recently got some big block files in a trade so I just had to print it in 1/16 scale to see how it would look in the truck and I must say that I like the big block in there. Did not take a picture of the engine in the truck but here they are side by side. some how the parts look a bit of in size, the valve cover are based on real measurements but the rest is scaled..

  14. Nice progress there! I will also try to get hands on one of these big 1:16 Italian cars, probably the Ferrari 288GTO
  15. Was looking for the right tire sizes and went to the Red Pig and looked up that they ran 285 front tires and probably countach size in the back at least in 71. Which would have been a 315 tire. and when browsing my tires I found two that had good width and height an also right inner diameter! So it will definitely look like a 70’s custom build so metallic red would be cool on it! a pic of the underside as well.
  16. I have been attacking the chassis with removing the remains of te molded in reare axle and prop shaft and I also went ahead and added some structure to the floor pans out of stretched spruce. And I also went ahead and closed of the gap between the front splitter and flare for a better flow in the body. also opened up and started mocking radiator and IC. for some reason it reminds me of hoonicorn when the wheels are not attached.
  17. Nice to see this one taking shape! Just give me a PM of you want to trade some files or parts.
  18. Hehe right! 🙂 and there fore I used 2 in sequence 😉
  19. Was looking at the turbo yesterday and thought that it’s a huge turbo for a engine producing 80 hp out of the factory and the lag should be immense! So this team, Banks maybe 😉 decided to use the aeromotive technology used since the 50’s compound turbos, which makes the 2 turbos to work on top of each other which boost efficiency and HP as well as torque. To much rule bending or just creative thinking? What air filters would have been used for this kind of build back then? I was looking at the Porsches but they seem to have no filter. I have some small round filers that could work or the stock one might do it. thoughts?
  20. Been doing some more work on the new generation racer. Engine have gotten an intake and exhaust as well as a turbo and waste gate. Also swapped a transmission that looks similar to what MB used, a 5speed ZF transmission. Also made modifications to the block and valvecover to represent the OM617 engine. I also replaced the suspension crossmember with one from a bmw that gave me the possibility to move the engine further back. I also opened up the rear side windows since I think it looks better and less grandpas car. The Mampe also have the windows like that. I also removed the molded in rear end and prop shaft, and replaced with parts that look the same from a bmw 635 thanks to @stitchdup. new transmission
  21. Have been working that bodywork to sculpt the flares and spoilers and it’s looking better I believe. For beeing a cross country car I believe the ride height is okay.
  22. I agree! Here is the latest mockup. I have this splitter made for an other car. I will narrow it and print a new to morrow.
  23. So I have decided that the Cuda with the Elephant motor will have to bad of a fuel economy for this run! 😁 so I will be running a Mercedes Turbo Diesel. And since intercooler technology was around within the racing scene as well as the big riggs. Se my earlier post on the Porsche turbo of the day. I was initially thinking of making a 1968 Mercedes 300 AMG Red pig but I won’t take the effort needed to make the 3d file printable so I will go with the kit I bought as a donor. The Italeri 500SLC, but I don’t like many parts of the body mainly the rear wheel arches so some changes inspired by the racing scene in the 70’s will be added. I will probably try to make the noce lower as well since I will try to make the aero better. Regarding engine, Mercedes had released their OM617 (Oil Motor) in the 300d in the smaller 4 door body style. So this would be a swap for the OM motor. There is no files around or kits with this engine so I have started fabricating an engine based out of a Nissan 6cyl that I cut down so it has the right dimensions of the 5cyl OM617. A diesel pump was modified in cad to become a 5cyl pump as well as some other parts. That I might use. wheels are same as the red pig used.
