  1. Excellent progress! It's the decal work that's putting me off doing mine.....
  2. I enjoyed seeing it come together on the BOYD thread, the finished result looks great!
  3. Really interesting to hear your take on it, pleasing to know you have customers who value the service and ability to get different products. I can't think of a dominant 'bricks and mortar' retailer here in the UK. Revell Europe are the car/truck kits we're most likely to see in a general toy shop that has a few models, I presume they have the most effective wholeale/distribution network.
  4. Good to see one built, you've done a great job with it. I really liked the Hasegawa kit I recently built (Sunny Truck) and I have a few more to go. I agree with your comments about their quality.
  5. It looks excellent!
  6. I've seen photos of one two Land Rovers running super-low. Aha, here we go..... This one came in the post yesterday: 1:24 Heller Citroen 2CV6 Charleston kit by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr Looks like a simpler build than the more recent Heller Renault 4 I also have. They'll make good companions and remind me of the things I've seen who on holiday in France. Maybe fill in the 3rd window and downgrade it to match this one? 1978 Citroen 2CV6 Special by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr
  7. Both very nice, I particularly like the Renault. Reminds me of the things I see when on holiday in France.
  8. That's excellent! Why aren't we driving around in things like this now?.......
  9. I look forward to seeing it come together. The woodgrain looks very effective.
  10. Very nice, I'd happily cruise in that at 1:1 (though it might look a bit out of place on the country lanes of the rural area where I live!). No multi-coloured paintwork on this one?
  11. Very nice, he's certainly not afraid of something with lots of brightwork!
  12. What is this craziness? Where is the real Claude? It's recognisably a '65 Pontiac! Looks excellent, certainly a car I like at 1:1.
  13. I came back here to post the TR7 photo I forgot earlier: This one ended at £36 plus shipping. I only have the wheels/tyres and instruction sheet remaining from the one I built in the early '80s. As I recall it was similar to put together to the Datsun 280Z and Ferrari 308 I recently finished.
  14. Always a pleasure and an intirgue to see what's next from you, and this one doesn't disappoint! No point thinking too seriously about these bits of plastic.
  15. Nice one! Wheels look good on it, I think you've even used the big brake discs too? Is it based on something you've seen at 1:1?
  16. This is the Monogram version, I think they did a TR8 as well (probably just different decals and wheels, as there's no engine or meaningful suspension detail). I built one a long, long time ago, I suspect it may be LHD.
  17. Looks good, surely not much more to get this one across the line? I'd love to find one of these, this is the sort of stuff I find particularly appealing at 1:1. I love the colour, I've used it several times. You do have a lot of those Corvette kits on the go!
  18. I've looked at my my older and more recent issues of this kit. On the older ones it would be a case of painting the Skyline and GT badges by hand, but on the recent issue (which includes the lovely OE alloy wheels) decals are included.
  19. Excellent! I look forward to seeing it progress. I believe there are others in the series, I have this one:
  20. What an intriguing and unusual thing, well done for taking it on and the finished result looks excellent.
  21. Looks excellent. As the former owner of a 1:1 example it's a car I know well, I have several versions at 1:24 scale to build someday. If Chris doesn't reply I'll go and have a look at what is in my versions (both 2- and 4-door).
  22. Nicely done Matt. I finished a 1:43 Heller model earlier this year and it's not an experience I'm rushing to repeat. No problem with the kit itself, just that my eyes aren't up to sustained work at that scale and any detail pieces, like the door mirrors, are so small!
  23. Looks really good. I see these come up for sale every so often but they always seem to command decent money. I'd like to get one someday, or the Monogram TR7. Very different to the TRs that went before, but a great period car that's very much of its time.
  24. Round-up of the last three days of activity: Cedric has received hopefully it's last coats of primer, seats and interior panels painted and given flat/semi-gloss clear. Toyota has had a lot of BMF masking and 'black' detail painting (actually Revell #9), still more to go on the inside of the glass but it's getting there. Roofboxes from a Fujmi accessory set, I'll use the long one here to make use of the roofrails and may even paint up the mountain bike that came in the same accessory set.
  25. Some great stuff everyone's getting there! I got this pair last night from the depths of my own stash, why buy them off eBay when I have my own?! Both from the mid '80s - I've been using the box from the Lotus ever since then to hold random stuff, visible here on the left. It just needs a clean-up, light polish and reattachment of a few pieces. The brush-painted Humbrol looks OK, to me at least. AMT GTO needs a bit more work, I didn't prime it when I applied the automotive rattle can paintjob so it really needs a stripdown and restoration. Also, I opened-up the rear arches for the big slicks so I need to think how to incorporate that into the final look - I bet @Snake45 would have some ideas ? Have since found the original engine, I wasn't sure if I'd work out which one it was but the hole through the block for the axle was the giveaway..... Also got this lot for a 1/4-mile oval racing project. And this pair. Silvia will make a good companion to the recently-completed Datsun Roadster (they use a similar chassis). Skyline is the only modern kit I have where the front wings are separate pieces, I presume that's so they can spin-off different versions. I was keen to get one as I have a long run of 4-door Skylines.
