  1. AMT kit with very confusing instructions. Some of the sprues have numbers and some don't, but the ones with numbers are probably from an older release and don't correspond to the ones on the instructions! It even says so on the sheet and instead uses a sketched layout of the sprues that you have to cross reference with the construction drawings! To add more confusion, some of the parts on the trees are not used, and some that are are not shown. If that isn't enough, there are quite a few fit issues to work around too! The pipes under the cab have to be dry fitted to find the right position for the next piece, otherwise by the time you get to the end, what was out by a mm will be out by a cm at the end of it all and the cab won't sit flat! Anyway, very nice looking and detailed kit and comes with very nice decals, though I chose to do my own paint scheme based off an old dealership painting. If you like a challenge I can honestly recommend it. It's far from a bad kit and once you have most of the sub assembly done, the hard part is out of the way.
  2. Looks a really good kit for a 1:43 scale. Nice work so far.
  3. Beautiful. Nice paintwork and pinstriping on the cab!
  4. Cool looking rig! Nice detailing on the dash and steering wheel.
  5. Sweet looking build. I like the frame colour too.
  6. Very nice looking build. Photoetch parts make all the difference! Very very nice.
  7. I love the weathering, very realistic.
  8. That thing is gleaming, it looks spotless! Amazing work, very hard to spot the differences between the real thing!
  9. Amazing realistic detail, it definitely has that military use look about it. That forklift unit looks equality as good. Very nice!
  10. I like this! The outdoor shots look amazing! Very nice.
  11. Beautiful looking Pete, lots of nice detail. I really like those Mercury sleepers.
  12. Beautiful. Green and red is such a classic old school look. The steel works near me still uses this colour combo on their fleet.
  13. Looks amazing, and you got the side panels in the right place unlike mine! It is a great trailer, I too don't know why they didn't include a spare tyre in there and yeah, those instructions! Glad I could help, it turned out looking perfect.
  14. ..and she's done! I'll post better pics in underglass tomorrow. Looks almost identical to the picture, I'm pretty chuffed with how this one turned out, just needs a trailer now, which will be my next build:)
  15. Interior tub is all done. Not much in there to detail really other than the dash so I didn't go wild in there, though I did choose a very fetching shade of green for the bed blanket, well it is the 70's and avocado green is in!
  16. Stunning, I look forward to seeing it in underglass!
  17. Thanks, guys. Making a start on the interior now, I'm going with beige and brown. I've done the dash and seat inserts in beige and the interior tub in brown but I might invert the colour combo cos I'm thinking the dash and seat inserts should be darker? I don't know, I'll see how it looks when I fit it together, if I don't like it I'll switch it around. Here's a bit of a sneak peek of the cab on the chassis to give an idea of how it will look completed. I'm glad I went with the blue frame, I'm liking it!
  18. Cab is painted but boy, was I sweating pulling the masking tape off! It turned out ok, though not perfect, those pinstripes were extremely hard to do cos the thin gap disappeared into the white of the tape and the white cab. The pinstripes are a little thicker than they should be, also where they curve around the front of the cab are not as sharp as I'd like but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Just a polish and clearcoat left to do then I'll blackwash the panel lines.
  19. Cheers, Dan. It sure took some work dry fitting the tub and cab and adjusting everything to clear. haha! yeah, I like the wheels to roll on my builds too but some are more work than I'm willing to put into them.
  20. Chassis is pretty much finished, just got the rear wheels to fit. Engine went in ok but then the pipes were a nightmare to fit around it nicely. The top pipe that fits into the turbo wouldn't go low enough and hit the cab interior tub, upright and the pipes don't fit nicely to each other or the filter barrel. I had the take a chunk out of the exhaust pipe for it to sit low enough to clear the interior tub. I also had to shave a bevel under the interior tub on the passenger side cos the pipe still hit the tub and wouldn't sit flat, what a nightmare! The air intake pipe at the back didn't fit at all, it needed some filling and sanding for it to snake it's way around everything without hitting anything so it sits straight and allows the intake tower to clear the body and exhaust! There was lots of test fitting and swearing with this one which is why I haven't posted anything on this build for a few days!
  21. Cool! Spectacular weathering.
  22. Great work happening on this. looking forward to seeing the end result.
  23. I subbed to the mag a few weeks ago, not sure I'll get this copy as it was after print but looking forward to the next issue. Is there a way to order back issues? My T-Bird is in the current issue!
  24. Great tutorial, I'll have to try this. Like a magic trick, looks impossible until you know how it's done. Thanks for sharing.
  25. Stunning work. What a gorgeous looking car.
