I have used rubber hair ties that my daughter tends to leave all over the house. Don't know if they are the right scale for 1/8 but might work. They are like thin flat rubber bands. https://www.amazon.com/Hoyols-Elastic-Rubber-Ponytail-Polyband/dp/B07JYFKR1G?th=1

Views on contest classes and 3d printing
Beans replied to bobthehobbyguy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
In the end it's skill and time that give the best results, no matter what the "advantage" in parts may be. I can get the best 3D printed parts and photo etched detail up sets and still make a giant mess of them. It's just a skill I have. That being said, the judging does matter. Are models judged on quality of build or detail of build? Does the amount of overall effort the builder put into the model factor higher than the overall look of the finished model? I honestly don't know. There will always be consternation between people competing in any way. When I was involved in shooting sports it was the same way. Those who spent their money on top of the line speed equipment were labeled as "gamers" who's efforts and practice time were devalued by the average shooters who made due with base model equipment. Building excellent models takes skill no matter what parts are used. If the judging is based on the skills then what was used shouldn't matter. (shouldn't being the important work there) -
The UK Company number seems to check out in a simple google search. Looks generally legit. https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/10001838

Saw that these were on sale on Amazon in a FB post. Saw that one of the comments said it was a bad kit. Feeling ornery I commented back that there are no bad kits, just bad builders. Figured I should at least try to prove my point a little. Built almost straight out of the box. I lower it, strip the chrome off the wheels and make them black, and add a rear wing. The paint is a base black coat (craft paint thinned with createx 4011), Green Stuff World color shift Royal Burgundy, and Createx gloss clear. The hood is painted with a can of rustoleum gloss black covered in testors clear. So yeah, I used all the paints. Overall a fairly straightforward and easy kit. Everything fits pretty well with minimal issue. Would be an easy kit to give the full road race treatment. May have to get another.

But the crystals have healing properties. If you drive it, your back pain will go away.

Well at least you have one extra so if a fix doesn't work you get a second chance. I think I would try to cut out the curved portion and replace it with a straight piece of styrene. (again assuming that the grill surround is the only issue)

First time using color shift paint. Pretty happy with the way it has turned out so far. Will see how clear coat turns out... -

Awesome job on the 1/32. If you didn't give the scale I never would have known.

Still playing on my old PS3 and Wii. Nothing new, just some old games that I restart constantly and never finish. The Batman Arkham games and Assassin's Creed. I always get on a binge, get halfway through, stop playing for like 3 months or more and then forget all the controls and have to start over.

2025 Cannonball Run - 50 years since the 1975 run.
Beans replied to Mattilacken's topic in Community Builds
My last two cannonball entries fit that description very well. One I never finished the other was just a mess when I got it done. Yours came out way better than both of those. -

From what I have seen of your work, I would say just keep doing what you are doing now.
