  1. Very clean build! It's pain in the ass to get the crisp masking and panel line accents on white body, but you've done an amazing job. And that interior is one of the cleanest brush work that I've seen!
  2. stunning build and equally stunning background!
  3. Thank you! I usually do straight box build so at least it's gotta be clean ? It's very unique looking design indeed - arguably one of the most iconic design among many other Gandini-designed cars! Thank you! One more layer of clearcoat would've allowed me to flatten the surface better and get mirror finish, but mold lines were pretty thin & shallow so I didn't push for it. Thank you Dave! Thanks. I was contemplating between yellow vs blue - blue was definitely more manageable as it hides a lot of small flaws! Thank you! This is definitely easier to build than Porsche and Ferrari EM kits. Thanks Chris! Enthusiast series definitely gave me different feelings - the excitement when you buy one, and hesitation whenever you open it, excitement of getting started then frustration when things don't fit! I bought one back in 2010 for $60 and mine seemed to be the initial release back in 1997 (no wonder the plastics were impeccably clean) and it was relatively easy to buy back then. Not sure if they re-released it. Yeah. Certain desirable ones are definitely harder to find - I personally want to get E24 Alpina and 356A coupe but they're pretty rare. Hasegawa version is curbside kit but body proportion and wheel size is much more accurate than Fujimi kit. Thank you!
  4. I love GAZ 24 as well. 70s style deep dish mags add a nice flair to it, and ride height is just perfect!
  5. Very clean! I'd love to know the color you used as well.
  6. Thank you! One of my favorite as well! Thanks. I had to lay thinner coats than usual as the mold lines were thin, so couldn't flatten the surface as much as I would normally do. Appreciate it! Thank you! I would love to build other Lancia homologation street models in the future.
  7. Love the advan wheel with grey center! Choice of tamiya metallic red is bang on for period look too.
  8. Love the colour and underbody weathering! There are a lot of details that really make both of cars look so realistic.
  9. Hi all, I finally finished my third Fujimi Enthusiast model. It's hard to call this a real deal enthusiast kit as it recycles most of its engine parts from their Dino kit, while missing most of Stratos-specific engine accessories. I also noticed that the body proportion is slightly off (especially distance between shoulder line and body baseline appears to be too thick) and wheel size is slightly smaller than real car. However the assembly of engine and suspension components is very accurate and I didn't encounter any fitment issues that I experienced with Porsche enthusiast kits in the past. Also it comes with metal mesh, rubber hoses and PE parts out of box. Build summary: Tamiya grey primer 2 coats of TS-93 Pure Blue and 2 coats of TS-13 clear 3000grit sandpaper then polished with 3-stage tamiya compounds Added ignition lines, braided line and a few vacuum hoses Thank you for looking!
  10. Beautifully done! The deeper red really makes the kit. I love both birds!
  11. One of the best. I love how you treated different metal materials differently. I'd love to learn more how you made that muffler!
  12. Thank you! Appreciated!
  13. Beautifully done and those trim and panel line works are impeccable! What was the color you used to pain them?
  14. I love these convertibles based on pedestrian cars. Great job!
  15. Love the dark red and that engine bay is clean & tidy!
  16. It's a great kit to build it straight out of box! The 2-piece rear wing needed a bit of putty work and fuel door located on the frunk had to be filled. Thank you! Appreciate it! Thank you!
  17. Very clean! I love the late 90s vibe on this build.
  18. That looks amazing. Looks like you've done a great job getting the underbody brace, detachable front end and the working hinge! It reminds me of fastest street legal car (It was Vauxhall Victor) in England.
  19. Hey all, I started this back in 2010 and left in the closet until earlier this year. It was the first model that I finished before I picked up all the new supplies and tools to really get the ball rolling. I painted it with half-empty TS-8 Italian Red that I bought long time ago, which was in pretty crappy condition, then polished w Tamiya compound w/o clear coat. The seats were flocked and I used aftermarket photoetch seat belt buckles and cut masking tapes for the seatbelt material. The kit itself is amazing and I want to build another one with proper tools. Thank you for looking!
  20. Love the subdued color and engine detail work!
  21. Thank you!
  22. Thank you! Yes exactly. I lamented why Hasegawa would bother with these liveries, instead of releasing Rothman's livery (which is defunct anyways). Awesome that you had the Rothman's 944 Turbo Cup car at the dealer! I was actually looking at that Guards red car as one of the reference pictures. The amount of modification alone would make these cars very special, let alone a significant historical value. The sub $100k final price shows how much undervalued 944s are..
  23. Thank you. I'm not sure why they don't make racing variation of 924/944, like GTP/GTR. Thank you! This was re-released with the Shell livery. Appreciate it! Thank you. Privateer racing cars look the best in white! Thank you. My friend has an early 85' 944 and I actually preferred driving that over g-body 911. Thank you! Those don't get as much attention but great cars for sure! Thank you!
  24. This is Hasegawa's recent re-release of their older 944 turbo kit. I didn't like the livery it came with, and I love how some Porsche cup cars often race in white lacking any sort of large livery and stay street legal with license plates. Turbo cup had numerous upgrades over stock 951 (extensive weight savings, larger turbo, updated suspension and brakes, etc) and I heard that 944 Turbo cup was also very popular in Canada and it even aired live on TV back then. Kit pros: - proportion of body is very accurate - realistic engine and suspension - photo etched seat belts included Kit cons: - sub par fit of front hood and clear window parts - trunk spoiler, emblem, and door handles are molded when so many other parts are separate - front suspension sits little too high Build detail - Tamiya white surfacer - wet sanded w/ 2000 grit - 2 mist coats and 1 wet coat of TS-26 pure white - 1 mist and 2 wet coat of TS-13 clear - wet sanded w 3000 grit, then polished with Tamiya three-stage compounds - added ignition wires, fuel rail to otherwise stock engine bay - added etched hood pins - replaced stock 4 spoke steering wheel with something more appropriate
