  1. Wow, seriously beautiful build and equally great photo! It looks so realistic.
  2. You did it just the way it should be! I built the same kit with different wheels way back.
  3. Impressive details! I love your 1/35 beetle work too.
  4. Very agressive! The color looks bang on!
  5. Beautifully done! This is the kit that I've been seriously tempted to buy. You've done a great job!
  6. Impressive build! Interior and engine bay looks amazing too.I like the light washing effect on the alternator too.
  7. Thank you as always! Appreciate it! Thanks a lot!
  8. Thank you! I'm trying to find better angles to hide hints of showing the scale. Thanks! 80s Mers and BMWs are my favorites!
  9. Love the details of engine as well as the body finish - even the tires look so real!
  10. Thank you! If I don't restrain myself, I'll end up painting red on black on all of my builds! Thank you! Thanks! I love painting in black! I forgot to mention I masked the center console and spray painted with red and black to simulate woodgrain. What I enjoy the most is painting and building the engine and suspension, but I always end up forgetting not taking the pics! Thanks! I remember building this in hot summer, where paint would get micro holes (especially on front & rear bumpers )after laying wet coats which was PITA to fix! Dark color helps hiding the flaw. Thanks Chris! Appreciate it! Thank you!
  11. Nicely done! Interesting how they sit low from the box stock.
  12. Love the color and finish!
  13. Hey all, while I’m waiting to finish up my second build for 2021, thought I’d share one of my old builds from 2010 (It's not the cleanest build I've done - with lots of sloppy work around the details). Overall it’s a great Tamiya kit to build box stock, and I wanted to replicate R129 modified by Carlsson, so I added larger & wider Aoshima Carlsson wheel and larger muffler. (The OZ aero wheels from the kit were used for my 500SEC build) Build details - Tamiya grey primer - Three coats of Tamiya TS-14 then polished w/o clear coat - TS-33 dull red for interior - BMF’d window trims - Lowered suspension - Used later style headlamp/tailight pattern - Added PE seatbelts and metal transfer amblem Hope y'all enjoy!
  14. I spotted the exact foxbody(non-cobra) in the identical color the other day. Looks great and so real!
  15. Beautiful pair! What color did you use for the maroon?
  16. Thank you! I agree. I really wanted to use the turbofan look on the VW kit, and these were the only tire choice that would clear the wheelhouse. I'm on the hunt for smaller, narrower wheels that would be a worthy replacement!
  17. Awesome W126! Miss the summer days. Thank you Chris! I love all of them too. Just need to find the 600SEL to complete my Tamiya classic Merc collection! Thank you so much! I wish Tamiya re-releases this one day. Appreciate the compliment!
  18. Tamiya dark blue is one of my favourite color - and it looks amazing on your build! Great paintwork and engine details! It's gonna be on my next buy list...
  19. Thank you! Revell really did a great job on this kit. Not the simplest kit to build but It's probably my favourite experience of 2020!
  20. Lovely looking custom!
  21. Thank you! It's my second build using airbrush and I love that I can mix colors! It was hard to polish avoiding sharp edges (ended up using q-tips for final polish) but it turned out pretty good. Thank you! It's my favourite Mercedes as well It was random mix of those tamiya acrylics! I started with brown and tan, then added small amount of red and yellow to get the right hue. Congrats! I bought mine for around $60, so pretty decent deal even though it wasn't lorinser kit. I swear I built this kit back in early nineties when I was a kid, and still remembered the smell when I opened the box! That's awesome! 80s German cars are my favourite cars. Having owned GLI Jetta and now 3 series from the same era, I love the look and driving dynamics of those cars.
  22. Thanks a lot! I'm trying to get some better angle on my balcony.. Thanks! I have Tamiya 300SL that I'll be building in 2021! Thanks Mike! Red/Caramel are my favourite interior colors!
  23. Super clean and great photography! Really brings out the detail of the car.
  24. Thank you! Once I finished the chrome trims, it was a breeze to finish it off Appreciate it! Thanks! I don't think W126 was ever released as a kit. Thanks! I'm figuring out how to shoot w/o obvious hints showing the scale. Thank you! I should've gone full mobster and painted it black on black, or white on white! Those kits with V12 are great! I had built S600 coupe way back. As for the transfers, I used from an assorted Mercedes emblems from hobby design. Thank you as always!
  25. I recently won this old Tamiya kit(issued in 82’) from Ebay and decide to kick off 2021 with it. Overall it needed zero correction on the body except for mold lines, and everything fit perfectly. Apart from the wheels and metal transfers, it's a box straight build. I wish they ever released widebody AMG version! Build details are: Primed with Tamiya grey surfacer Sanded off all molded emblems then applied aftermarket metal transfers Two coats of Mr. Color metallic black and aluminum mixed to simulate the black pearl metallic which has very, very subtle metallic flakes. Mix of Tamiya acrylics (red, yellow, brown and tan) to simulate Palomino leather interior Airbrushed 2 thin coats of Tamiya lacquer clear then went 3000 grit > 6000 grit > Tamiya fine > finish compounds to keep the body lines leveled and sharp. Applied BMF for the front window and light housings and masked rest of chrome trims then sprayed with Mr. color aluminum Added staggered AMG OZ aero wheels from Tamiya 500SL AMG kit Lowered suspension (I wanted to achieve lower ride height and when I dry fitted they were great, but somehow it turned out to be higher than I thought)
