I just ordered this kit and looked at a few online videos and was surprised to see the wheels protruding so far beyond the fenders. Will trimming the metal axles allow the wheels to tuck under the fenders or will suspension components be in the way?

Yet another subject I need to build- inspiring work! The quality of the build and the photography make it impossible to discern that this is a model and not a 1:1 car!

I always had a passion for the Corvair I think because they were ‘different’. A neighbor used to give us a ride to church in her Corvair and let me operate the stick shift as she drove….a real thrill for a car mad 10 year old! Very nice rendition of what I always felt to be a very cool car. Going to have to see if I can find this kit.

My version of the Revell '49 Mercury custom. Createx pearl green clear coated with Rust-Oleum Painters Touch 2x Gloss Clear. Tamiya buff and flat white interior. Initially I thought I might go with the full custom skirts and lake pipes but I decided I really like the look of the wheels/tires and opted for a milder custom look. The build is strictly OOB. Everything fit very nicely and there were no issues that I didn't bring upon myself. Perhaps someday, way down the road when my skills progress beyond kit assembly, I'll have a go at actually chopping a top.? On completing final assembly I concluded that I should have painted the package shelf buff instead of white. Here are some iPhone photos from the workbench. Wow.....weird how you can work on a model for so long and never notice that some of the parting lines you thought were well taken care of still show up when the model is photographed. .......and I should have dusted prior to photography?

Love all the color choices and the detailing of the engine compartment. Impressive flame job; a real hottie on the Fourth of July!?. I'm currently building the same kit which I'm quite enjoying. Though I've not managed to incorporate as much detail work it's still a satisfying build.

Thanks Jeff, I appreciate the comment. Funny thing is that matching the box art was completely unintentional but I'm glad you like it. I tend to enjoy the chassis and engine work more than the body work. Thanks for the nice comment. I actually ended up buying two because the first one had a slightly warped chassis which I then ruined with a heat gun. Thanks for your comment. I really like the Createx pearl colors. It took me a lot of messing around to get the hang of spraying them.

Thanks Bill and Dave for your comments. The Minicraft in 1/16 caught my eye but I've not located one yet. I'll also keep an eye on ebay for the Monogram.

Box stock with a wired engine. Createx pearl blue. The kit goes together without issues. I've been going for quantity builds this spring so I can learn from my errors and improve the quality of my builds. ? This one could use some BMF but getting an acceptable result eludes me so far. More practice, more quantity, build, build, build.

This is the Revell Special Edition '32 Ford 5-Window Coupe 2'n 1. The paint is Tamiya TS-11 Maroon clear coated with Tamiya TS-13 Clear. My spray painting skills are still a rough work in progress! I find I tend to get too wet with my wet coats plus I need to take better care to eliminate dust. Lessons learned. This kit has LOTS of chrome. To my mind an excess of chrome, for example chrome plated disc brakes???? I stripped lots of the chrome parts and painted them with various Tamiya acrylics. The front suspension was rather fussy to assemble but with a lot of pre-assembly I sorted it out. Overall a satisfying build and most of all, fun.

A buddy of mine has a 1931 Ford roadster in restored condition. I want to build a model of it for him. I've not been able to find a kit. Any suggestions would be welcome. Andrew
