  1. This is my second Ebbro and I agree that they are very well designed. I have their Citroen in my stash and looking forward to eventually getting it in the queue.
  2. Thanks for all the nice comments! I need to remember to dust models before photographing them!?
  3. Man I hate warped frame surprises but you seem to have dealt with it very effectively. I too love that body style. Very nice looking hot rod.
  4. Very nice! I really like that clear blue over silver.
  5. Excellent rendition and craftsmanship. Any comments regarding kit quality or issues during construction? I think I need one of these.
  6. A recently finished kit. Essentially OOB . Very enjoyable build. My second Ebbro kit and I've been impressed with the quality though they are a bit pricey.
  7. David, I have the Tamiya Super 7 and measured the wheels as being a scale 14". I'll have to check my measurement again, perhaps I made a mistake. They are a very nice wheel. Thanks for the feedback, Andrew
  8. Phil, Great looking wheel and tire combination.....just what I'm looking for. Did a quick search for the AMT Tiger but those available online are absurdly expensive. I've sent an inquiry to Motobitz and hopefully will get a set of wheels from them but I'll keep looking for some fat vinyl tires that might look like race tires from 1964. Thanks for your feedback! Andrew
  9. Matt, This looks like what I've been searching for! I've sent an inquiry to Motobitz and awaiting a reply. Thank you! Andrew
  10. This is a repeat of a question I asked in the 2024 Sebring thread. I got a couple of useful answers there but thought I would pose the question to a broader audience. I am in search of some 13" steel wheels and tires for the 1/24 scale Lotus Cortina I'm working on. It's a resin kit and the wheels are wrong for the Jim Clark Cortina I'm trying to replicate. Any advice on a source of wheel/tire would be appreciated. I'm trying to avoid having to do some major surgery (lathe work) to swap out wheel centers which I fear with my lack of lathe experience may end up as a pile of chips on the floor! Andrew
  11. I appreciate the ideas and advice Bill. This is starting to look like a real challenge. I do have access to a Sherline lathe but very little experience turning anything on it, no time like the present to try and learn to use it. I'm thinking maybe I can turn the rims out of the kit wheels and swap in the rim centers from the Lotus. This is going to be an adventure ...........
  12. Thanks Phil but unfortunately I'm not a Facebook person and couldn't find Gerry Chevalier.
  13. I've finally started work on the #59 Jim Clark Lotus Cortina. Being this is my first resin kit I'm finding it's going to take a LOT of prep work to get this thing assembled. The basis for the build is the 1963 Cortina Mk1 kit from The Motor Museum in Miniature. No doubt I'll be leaning on this forum for assistance and ideas. The first problem I'm in need of help with is finding some 1/24 scale, 13 inch, 4 lug, steel rims. The kit wheels are wrong for the #59 as it raced at Sebring in 1964. Here is a picture of the wheels I need. Here is a picture of one of the kit wheels overlaid on a photo of the #59. As you can see, that spoked kit front wheel is wrong for the vehicle I'm trying to replicate. I've done some internet searching and haven't found an appropriate wheel. The closest I've come is the 14", 4 lug, steelies on my Tamiya Lotus Super Seven. Close but no cigar! Does anybody have any idea where I might find an appropriate wheel and tire? All comments and ideas appreciated. Andrew
  14. Beautifully done!
  15. I have this kit and also planned to paint the exact same color. It won't hit the workbench anytime soon but I'll certainly be reviewing the great work you are doing when I get to mine.
  16. So often I get an idea for a further enhancement but end up leaving well enough alone. I think you reached that point regarding the white roof. ? I am impressed how good the body looks after all the work you went through stripping the Tamiya maroon paint. I have found stripping Tamiya lacquer to be a challenge at the best of times. The red you laid down looks great! I'll be following along as this build progresses.
  17. Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. I've just started the project.....and now to find an appropriate set of wheels........
  18. I realize this thread is a couple years old but can you provide a link to the youtube video that you referenced for the modifications to fit the larger tires? I'm just starting this build and what I have envisioned will include some larger lower profile tires than the originals. If my effort comes anywhere near looking as clean as yours I'll be ecstatic!
  19. You make it look so easy; the mark of a truly skilled craftsman!
  20. Your work just blows my mind! Awesome is a much abused descriptor but appropriate here!
  21. Very cool! Is this the Atlantis kit? Any issues with the build?
  22. You pointed out the problems with the build but the end product is excellent! Well done.
  23. A proper gasser! You've really worked out a great painting system as your models consistently have great looking paint. This is one beautiful model.
  24. You're right, you can't make this stuff up; it takes a lot of work and perseverance. Excellent story and some fine looking cars!
  25. Beautifully detailed and great choices for the colors throughout the car. Really impressive! I have this in my stash and am looking forward to having a go at it myself.
