  1. Really nice! Love the color and the stripes. Great choice of wheels.
  2. When pinning parts what do you do to get proper alignment between the pin in the part and the hole? How do you ensure that the location of the pin in the part is correct so the part is in the correct location when inserted in the locating hole?
  3. Digging the Bad News! What kit is this?
  4. That's a hot rod that looks like it would have been cruising Main Street back in the day. Well done!
  5. Your conversion to a stock truck really looks the part. Well done.
  6. I'll be interested to see what you do with the conversion to a stock truck!
  7. Thanks everybody for the nice comments. I am pleased that many of you commented on the yellow color. As with all my paint jobs it was a bit of a journey, not always pleasant.? In the end I'm quite happy with the way the paint looks on this vehicle. Don't recall exactly who's build it was in this forum that had blacked out a lot of the chrome but I drew inspiration from the fine work that goes on display here. With the engine bay having so little detail I went the minimalist route with the engine detailing; and yeah, maybe I got a little lazy.
  8. The Revell '29 Model A roadster with a few after market and spare parts to put in drag racer mode. Paint is MCW finishes Black Cherry Gloss Laquer. Inspiration came from a photo of an early '70's altered. I should probably dress up the interior with a decent shoulder harness . Looking at the photo the parachute retaining strap probably ought to be secured to the center of the frame cross member. A push bar was on the 'to do' list which would require moving the 'chute too; maybe next time. Thanks for looking, any and all feedback is appreciated. Andrew
  9. Thanks Bob, I appreciate your comments!
  10. That is one wild machine! Very cool build beautifully executed.
  11. A box stock build of the Foose '56 Ford FD100. Looking back at my notes I was surprised that the body required so much prep work. Parting lines, flash, and mold lines everywhere. Painted with decanted Model Master Chrysler GL Yellow through a Paasche airbrush. Frame is painted Tamiya Metallic Grey XG-56.
  12. Beautiful paint, both the color and the application. Very convincing engine. I’ll be watching this one!
  13. Very nicely done! I built this one and ha ve another in the ‘stash’. My chassis was not warped but I haven’t looked at the second one. I will say this is the best AMT kit that I have built.
  14. I have this one in the stash . I was impressed with your 32 Ford roadster and look forward to seeing what direction you go with this one.
  15. Amen to that! It seems like I spend more time stripping paint than building. Maybe someday I’ll learn to lay down a smooth coat of paint consistently but so far it still eludes me. Looking forward to watching your next build if this one is taking a break back in the box.
  16. Very cool looking hot rod! The dropped front axle gives it a killer stance and the creative paint job makes this one unique.
  17. I have admired the quality of your builds and find it interesting that you took an approach of build, build, build to hone your skills and craftsmanship as that has been my approach since I became fully engaged in the hobby a few years ago. I certainly don’t produce anything near the quality of your work but I’m seeing improvement. I can’t fault the quality of this build (or your photography) and enjoy getting an historical perspective on the development of a master builder’s skills.
  18. I built this one and agree that it’s a really nice kit. I really like your custom 1/2 round molding! Terrific looking paint and color combination ?.
  19. Really nice looking hot rod! In fact your build inspired me to order this kit and yes I ordered two?.
  20. To the best of my memory my first model car was "the Deuce" a 1932 Model B Ford from AMT in 1959. I was 8 years old at the time and my oldest sister who always had an interest in art and painting helped me assemble it. I'm pretty sure we didn't paint it but I seem to recall applying decals. A few years later I had more success building the Visible V8 which I found tremendously informative in the operation of the internal combustion engine. I've built models off and on over the years but only since retirement in 2016 have I become immersed in the hobby.
  21. Hallo Bart, What is your ratio of paint to retarder? I have some Tamiya retarder and need a starting point for trying this. Thanks, Andrew
  22. Steve, Do you decant the Dupli-Color primer and airbrush it or shoot straight from the can? Thanks, Andrew
  23. Stellar build! Fit and finish beyond reproach. Beautifully engineered….I could go on with the superlatives but the model speaks for itself.
  24. You really do a nice job of detailing your builds. Well done!
