  1. Great work grafting the Camaro roof onto the Firebird body. I'm looking at my Firebird which is currently unbuilt and some of what stands out is the front windshield was not brought up high enough and the rear quarters should have a more rounded appearance where it meets the back of the car. Not having your skills I'll probably just build mine as it is out of the box but I'll probably build up the drip rails with styrene rods since the trim lines are barely molded around the side windows.
  2. It's true and we've all seen old muscle cars from time to time that were just primer. Are you looking to do a factory type color for this one?
  3. I like this color and it's okay if this one is done without an engine. I build them curbside occasionally.
  4. The paint polished up beautifully and the interior looks very crisp. I like the exhaust tips and just purchased some aluminum tubing the other day as I'd like to use this procedure on some future builds.

    65 Impala

Great paint (application and color) and your interior detailing on this one is superb.
  6. Beautiful build overall. I like the choice for the carpeting.
  7. This '64 DeVille was molded in green when this particular kit was released. I'm not sure of the date of this one and I doubt if other releases were in this color.
  8. Thanks Carl. Thanks Chaz.
  9. Thank you Craig.
  10. That '73 Eldorado needs to have been under a carport at a minimum all this time. From that picture it looks like a pretty solid car despite the condition of the hood and missing bumper fillers. That must've been one of the first years those had body colored wheel covers.
  11. Thanks Rusty, I was thinking of the '69 Chevelle I built last year when I decided to foil the cowl vents on this one.
  12. Oh I see it now, I made an incorrect assumption based on the white car with blue and red striping.
  13. Nice work and the "Spirit of '76" theme works well.
  14. Great looking build and I've heard this is a nice kit to build. I have one unbuilt that I'm looking forward to completing eventually and thanks for the helpful tips. And nice job wiring the engine.
  15. Great work as always Eric and fantastic job aligning all of those decals.
  16. These are nicely detailed kits throughout. Nice work on the engine and I feel your pain about buffing through the base coat as I've done it more times than I care to remember.
  17. Thank you Mike. Thank you Larry. Thank you Jim. Thank you Greg. rivet counter is a very appropriate description.
  18. Thanks Tom. While I admire those who do factory correct I'm also of a belief that these models give me a creative license to modify (if only slightly sometimes) how they left the factory.
  19. Those came out great and being a fan of blue cars I really admire the custom mixed blue. I followed the WIP and was impressed with the craft paint on the interior as it appears to have the look of vinyl. I wouldn't mind trying the craft paints on my interiors but not sure if I could use them as successfully as you have since I don't have an airbrush.
  20. I like the color combination on this very nice build. Did you remove the headrests? I ask because this looks to be a Monogram kit and the one I have (that can be built as a '68 or '69) has headrests.
  21. Our family car was a two door version of the this Impala and it was Nantucket Blue with a black vinyl top and interior with the same full wheel covers and bumperettes. It also had the front fender lights which were an option on the Impala. So this one brings back some memories. Truly a beautifully detailed build.
  22. Thank you Nigel. It was an enjoyable build and while there's always room for improvement the trim foil was a valuable experience.
  23. That's a beauty Gareth as all your foil and two tone work looks perfect. And chocolate wrappers? Now that's being creative and it works well. I'll have to try your overspray technique on a chassis at some point as it creates a visual interest.
  24. Thanks Eric. Thanks Chris. Thanks Steve. On this model the trim that runs along the top of the front fenders was the most difficult for me and I thought the narrow "A" pillars also created a challenge. Nevertheless it didn't stop me from acquiring another kit when I was done.
  25. I've never seen anyone correct the asymmetrical drivers side window opening on one of these '65 Pontiacs. Very impressive and the replacement styrene strip looks like it would be easier to foil than the original trim molded into the model.
