    58 Buick

Spectacular build and colors on this one. First time I've ever seen a scale model of a '58 Buick.
  2. Thanks Chris I do prefer the showroom look even if it's not completely accurate. Thank you Chris. Thanks Hector, I have about a half of a can left so probably one more model in this color.
  3. That is a gorgeous clear coat on this Mustang.
  4. Thanks Larry, it's a basic but fun kit to build.
  5. The red works great Gareth and Pontiac actually went with a darker blue/red combo on the '74 Trans Am which worked well.
  6. In addition to being a great build what really works on this one is the color combination.
  7. Thanks Chang, I'm mostly satisfied with this one though there is always room for improvement. Thank you Al.
  8. Another spectacular build indeed. I wasn't aware of this one though.
  9. Thanks Gareth, blackwashing the wheels made a significant difference versus my first build of this kit when I didn't blackwash.
  10. Thanks Glen these Buicks aren't always posted.
  11. Thanks Carl, I have about a half a can of this color left for one more model. Thanks David.
  12. Nice work Jim. What do you use for the turn signals? I realize it's just a small detail but I really like the look on this model.. I noticed with the most recent sheet of BMF I purchased it doesn't blend as well at corners probably due to the thickness of the sheet as you mentioned. The previous sheet I used however was a bit too thin like Mike mentioned and there were cracks throughout the sheet and it was difficult to use.
  13. Thanks Christopher. Thanks David. Thank you Mike.
  14. Thanks Steve. And yes the amber lights are incorrect (and for that matter the side marker lights also) but for some reason it's just something I always like to do. Thanks Eric. Thanks Mark. Thanks Michal Thanks Tom. Thanks Gerald. Yes it's one of many great Tamiya colors l like.
  15. Great work on an impressive looking car.
  16. Looks great overall and nice engine compartment detailing. I always thought the '87-'88 Thunderbirds were the best looking of the Fox body era.
  17. Thanks Michelle Thanks Snake. Thank you Lee. Thanks Rusty. I agree not every color works on every car. I always liked the light blue metallic paints on late '60's and '70's era GM cars. Thanks Ray.
  18. Mid 90's release of the 1/25 scale Buick Riviera painted in Tamiya TS-58 Light Pearl Blue and top coated with Testors Glosscote. The drivers side mirror is from an old Monogram GTO kit since this kit only contained mirrors for the custom build.
  19. You produced a spectacular shine with this build and the blackwash detail on the grill is spot on. Nothing wrong with a more basic kit. I enjoy them myself and they can be a nice change of pace.
  20. Great looking paint work and color.
  21. That's good information. I didn't realize Rustoleum 2X primer would be safe under Duplicolor Perfect Match lacquers.
  22. Great looking build and that color is awesome. It's a shame Testors discontinued that turquoise.
  23. I agree it is a very rewarding procedure in the build process. I can't say I find it relaxing though....lol. Maybe with more practice I'll think differently. But for me there are other aspects of model building that are very relaxing.

    1969 Z/28

Turned out great and the paint has a real nice shine.
  25. Very neatly built and the under hood detailing adds greatly to the engine compartment.
