  1. Look on the positive side Mike. The area needing re-worked is the easiest spot on the car. You've got the experience so it should come out pretty good.
  2. That is nice. Love that color and all the detail.
  3. Looking really good man. The detail is top notch dude.
  4. I have the 2009 version AMT 66 Nova Pro Street on the bench and it's full of flash so I can't image what your's looks like. Try and look at it as it's just the nature of the beast and part of the hobby. If it was all nice and easy with no issues then I guess we would have show stoppers. The end result is what we are all looking for. Hand in there dude.
  5. Mike, looks like you may have gotten the dryer a lttle to close.
  6. I just shot the clear gloss on my Nova about 1 1/2 hrs ago. Came out pretty good.
  7. After letting the Rust-Oleum Winter Gray dry for about 25 hrs I just sprayed the Rust-Oleum Clear Gloss on the body about 15 min ago. Has a little orange peel but everything looks uniform and the best to date so far. I'll probably let this cure until Monday and see how it looks. Not sure if I'll we sand or just polish it. The last couple times I wet sanded I went a little to much and burnt through one of the edges.
  8. Sweeeeeeet. The hood hinges look pretty nice and the paint makes it all pop. Nice work dude.
  9. Good looking build. I like the pickups. Woodsmoke Gray....what paint is that?
  10. Nice build. Looks like it belongs in the rock driveway at the farm.
  11. Yo buddy. I was on the Mecum Auction site this morning and came across this Double Nickel and thought of your build. Only difference is yours is a 210.
  12. Yup. I also like the ease of cleanup with the acrylic paints. That's why I started with acrylics. The lacquer sure looks so much better though.
  13. Boy oh boy. I have one but my hand is not that steady. What's your secret?
  14. Nice. That blue looks killer on that year. Did you use bmf on the trim?
  15. Looking pretty sharp dude. I like the maroon lacquer.
  16. Mike, I did try the Anita's gloss black and red. I still have some left along with the Tamiya acrylic paint as well. I'll still be doing some airbrushing test on the Impala body. Ill get it figured out its just taking longer than I thought it would.
  17. Mike. Nice work on the paint. You know what that means with the wife's approval....whatever size you were thinking of you can now go twice as big.
  18. Thanks Snake. I'll take that into consideration. Well....after adjusting the tie rods this morning on my 1:1 1949 Chevy pickup I kept thinking about my paint issue. I checked my notes and one thing that was always consistent was the primer. So, I thought why not try the Rust-Oleum top coat and see what happens since the Rush-Oleum primer seems to lay down really well. I made a trip to the local Rural King and bought a can of Winter Gray Gloss and sprayed this over the Rust-Oleum black primer and I've gotta say it looks pretty good and I haven't sprayed the Clear Gloss yet. I still have my 65 Impala test body in primer so I'll continue to work with spaying the craft and Tamyia acrylic paints.
  19. Mike. When I tried to lightly sand the Ceramcoat acrylic paint on one of my body's it seem to come off pretty easy. So.....steady as she goes mate ☺
  20. Welcome Rich. Your War of the Worlds diorama looks pretty kewl.
  21. Welcome Adam. Show us what you have in your restoration shop that your currently working on.
  22. Thanks Snake. I'll take that into consideration.
  23. I was browsing the ole interweb for model car show video's and saw this 5 window coupe (maybe a 37 Chevy). I just thought it was a fantastic looking model and the color just pops on the car. I had a 37 Ford pickup street rod 1:1 so I'm real parcel to the mid to late 30's fat fender cars and truck. What have you spotted that just really caught your eye.
  24. Mike.....what don't you like about the black?
