  1. It's coming...see it on the bottom shelf?
  2. Pic of Round2's setup at the 2018 Nuremberg International Toy Fair a few week ago, with boxes for the MPC Cougar F/C and Autocar Tractor clearly on display:
  3. Here are a few "mag" wheels if anyone wishes to try I.D.ing these, too. #1: has an unusual taper to it, but has textured spokes like those found in the Monogram Shelby Mustang GT350-R, Revell '32 Ford 3W and Sedan, Revell/Monogram road racing Corvettes (Owens Corning, etc.), but they don't look familiar, not do they look like they'd fit the Goodyear Blue Streak tires those kits included. #2: Looks MPC-ish, but I think it's too deep to be a Little Red Express wheel? #3: No idea, but no lug nuts #4: AMT? Six lug nuts
  4. The Fruitwagon wheels seem to have a softer edge on the spokes, but maybe it's just thicker undercoat? I took another pic of the wheels I have, and there appears to be a complete set of four (two front and two rear), the rear wheel shown in my original picture as #2 with no center spindle nut cap. The center cap on the green melty wheel is a little bit shorter than the other two (easiest to compare to the bottom right wheel) and the spokes appear to be a bit thinner than the other four, too, so I'll look through some eBay listings tonight and see if I can narrow it down.
  5. While this is far from a "thought lost forever" type find, Jesse mentioned elsewhere on the forum that Round2's Instagram post yesterday showed an "unlabelled" mold and some teaser pics looking inside the mold, which is the MPC '67-'72 Chevy pickup, with the tow truck version's fire extinguisher and jack stand bases clearly visible (you'll have to go there for the interior mold pics):
  6. I think the Mack DM800 and Aurocar Tractor are the last of the big trucks reissued by either Model King or Stevens International which Round2 has yet to reissue themselves. They just reissued the Mack Cruiseliner, the Autocar Tractor is supposed to be a 2018 reissue, so I would expect the Mack DM800 within the next 24 months, too. Jesse mentioned this elsewhere on the forum, but Round2's Instagram post yesterday showed an "unlabelled" mold and some teaser pics looking inside the mold, which turned out to be...*drumroll*..... The MPC '67-'72 Chevy pickup, with the tow truck version's fire extinguisher and jack stand bases clearly visible. Might not be a 2018 reissue at this point, but I wouldn't bet against seeing some form of the kit in 2019.
  7. Additional look at the underside of the hood, which has decent bracing detail: Better(?) shot of the hood scoop in it's final position: Firewall detail shots, showing the patches I added to make up for the differences between the '57 floorpan/toe kick area and the '55 firewall. The interior side should be mostly hidden, so it won't need to be perfect. The engine compartment can be fudged a bit as the ball peen hammer "clearancing" method may have been use to gain a bit more space for the 409 V-8: I removed some material from the edges of the floorpan, too, but I'm still working on getting the '57 interior panels and '55 dash to all fit together nicely.
  8. At least it's not unlucky, like green...or Corvettes. Here are a few more pics of the various parts and sub-assemblies I've made progress on so far. Wheels and tires: M&H Racemaster pie crust slicks from the Revell Tony Nancy Roadster/Dragster double kit and the 5-window Halibrand wheels from the Roadster. Front wheels are the front wheels from the Revell '64 Ford T-bolt with parts box tires (not sure on the source, possibly Lindberg '64 Belvedere?): The rear halves of the rear wheels needed to be thin enough to allow the brake drums to clear, so I ended up turning a pair of rings on the lathe to get enough clearance: I turned the O.D. (wheel lip) of the wheel backs/drum brake backing plate pieces down on the lathe, but the drum's wall is still a bit too thick and the gap between the drum's I.D. and the backing plate's O.D. is still too large. I'll have to live with it. I'm using the AMT '62 Pontiac Catalina' rearend because it was (and still is) a common upgrade able to handle more power, and the part in the AMT kit is nicely designed and detailed, too, so a win-win. The stock control arm brackets all need to be removed and the flange ends turned down to fit inside the brake backing plates' holes, but it's a nice starting point: I made up some brackets from brass u-channel so I could positively locate the rear ale tubes on the leaf springs, and added an alignment pin to each, as plenty of test fitting awaits:
  9. Here's to hoping some of the flares are interchangeable-- that would save a bunch of work.
  10. The Revell '68/9 Dart kits always seem underrepresented, so it's good to see someone working on one. Love that color, too.
  11. You'd sell, what seven of 'em, all to Canadians? I do dig these Canadian only models (makes?) like Beaumonts and the like, and I love how the front fender trim on this one looks like it was sliced right into the fender. Is that a light at the forward end of the trim piece on each fender?
  12. Yes, on the secondary market (eBay) for less than the MSRP when first reissued. Honestly, I would suggest keeping the promo style chassis plate, and focus on the interior and body. No good late AMC V8 is available, and no good AMC donor chassis, either, so consider how deep you want to dive. Curbside-- it's not a dirty word.
  13. I think you ultimately made the wise choice, though I would have made it as soon as I pulled it out of the box. Better to start with a clean, solid base. Looking forward to seeing the body modification progress.
  14. http://modelkitreviews.proboards.com/thread/50/1-16-bullhorn SBC with finned valve covers.
  15. The 1/16 Pyro Lindberg T-based kits contain some nice period parts, namely the six-carb intake manifold, two piece Stromberg(?) carbs, and many of the suspension bits, too. Front axle has poseable knuckles, rear is a decent looking quick change style, and there are brake drums and backing plates. Really a nice parts kit for a '60s rod, better than the Minicraft 1/16 Model As IMHO. Not quite sure which trans this is, but it's '60s vintage unlike the modern auto in the Revell '34s:
  16. Updated. Anybody care to take a crack at these four Terra Thrust/American Racing Lemans style wheels? I'm pretty sure #1, the wheel with the rim of melty green plastic if the JO-HAN '63(?) Fury mentioned in another topic semi-recently. #3 is rather awful with molded closed "windows", but I think both #3 and #4 are actually Lemans, not Terra Thrust wheels. #1: #2: #3: #4:
  17. Thanks all. I updated each wheel with the source kit.
  18. They do look like the Goodyear Polyglas GT tires Round2 included in the '67 Dodge Charger reissue, only now with pad printed redlines on the outer sidewall:
  19. #6: AMT '64 Chevelle or El Camino #7: JO-HAN '77-'79 Cadillac: #8: Custom wheel from AMT '65 & '66 Barracuda #9: MPC '57/'60 Corvette
  20. So many unidentified wheels. Anybody care to I.D. which kit(s) these wheels are originally from?: #1: 1/25 AMT '63 & '64 Buick Riviera, '63 Chrysler Imperial HT - Custom Wheels #2 - AMT '67 Thunderbird - Custom Wheel #3 - 1/25 Monogram '67 Corvette 427 Roadster #4 - Aurora Aurora Jaguar XK-E #5 - JO-HAN '60s Chrysler kits - Custom Wheel #5: - Revell '65 Chevelle SS Z-16 wheel cover
  21. I have started or worked on a few of the coupes, but never completed one. The body is gorgeous, the SBC is perhaps the nicest available 1/16 scale, and the suspension parts are overall very nice, too. The main problem is the kit was released in 1988, and the the only way to build this kit out of the box is as an early "billet" style rod, which severely hampers one's options. The interior tub is a wrap-around style, with modern (though nice) bucket seats, a cupholder in the center console, etc., so other than the dash itself, there's not much to use if you are modifying the kit to an older style rod. Front suspension is IRS (Mustang II, IIRC), which was typical for 1988, but is now horribly out of fashion, and I want to say the rearend is a Ford 9". Wheels and tires are 14" and 15", too, which, yeah, not good in 2018. I'm not sure if the 1/16 scale or the "billet" look (or both) is what ultimately did this kit in, but it's still a great starting point, and really if you want to build street rod or hod rod, you're probably going to make most of your own parts for it, right? Out of the box it's probably just too much work to get the look of an older style rod, but the potential is there is you want to put forth the effort. It think all I have left are these test shot parts from the Coupe, but they are nice:
  22. Round2 has Batman licensing now, and they don't have the DOH licensing, so it makes some sense. The Joker Goon version seems to be mostly a box art thing, and I'd guess most build it as a police car.
  23. Sorry. AMT-1102 1/25 International Scout II Truck AMT-1109 1/25 Fruehauf Beaded Coca-Cola Van Semi-Trailer
