  1. We have a white plastic sighting:
  2. OK, thanks for the clarification, Chris.
  3. Weird. Maybe Revell revised the tires at some point? I have an older set of Ground Hawgs and after looking at the instruction sheet on the Revell website, it looked like the tires haven't changed. The inner sidewall, where the wheel back rest inside the tires, is noticeably thicker/deeper than the same area on the outer sidewall. Has that changed?
  4. Unless the tire has been redesigned, removing the letting alone won't allow for mounting the tires "correctly" on the right side. The wheel halves need to be mounted to the correct side of the tire respectively, so the right side tires will still be rotating the wrong direction when mounted. Even Revell's cover shot model shows them that way:
  5. Unfortunately this is the most glaring weak spot on this kit, and even worse, there's no easy fix. The best thing would be to cut the headlight bezel area free from the bumper, but that would require two pieces, as you'd be sacrificing part of the bumper to get a full bezel, and vice-versa. The headlight buckets look horrible if they aren't highly reflective, which means leaving the chrome plating...which means you have to be perfect with your hand painting or masking. I would at least drill out the headlight buckets and replace them with separate buckets from another kit or scrap grille. That will make retaining the highly reflective nature of the buckets much easier, and make the detail painting much easier, too. You might try a liquid masking agent on the bumper, then air brush the bezels after removing the chrome and priming them...like I said, no easy solution, unfortunately.
  6. I suspect the majority of people who buy this kit would agree with you. I'm sure there are hardcore Stroppe Bronco fans out there wanting a 100% accurate model, but considering there were ~500 or so ever built, I doubt there's going to be a huge outcry over the inaccurate rear flares for the Stroppe version. The majority of folks will build it the way they want it, and who build s a truck with flares at only one end? Is the box art version a bit misleading? Yeah, I suppose it is, but it's a decent kit of a long awaited subject, and despite it's known inaccuracies to the vocal minority, I have no doubt it'll sell very well.
  7. How about the 1/16 Revell '34 Ford 3-window Coupe?
  8. Not to be greedy, but it there any chance you will also consider offering the interior panels Tom mentioned below?
  9. Here's a link regarding backdating the Commando to a Jeepster Alen shared with me, so maybe Ken Kitchen or another Front Range Modeler will chime in if he/they sees this: https://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/builds/amt/build_amt_38555.shtml
  10. I haven't seen that info for many years here. I think it was posted once, in the OTW section, but no luck after searching. '71 Jeepster: '72 Jeep Commando:
  11. The Union 76 logo seemed a bit having grown up with the deeper orange ball-era logo, but it appears to be very accurate for the 1950s. The door decal/service station name makes some sense, too:
  12. Looks like this kit is out and available now:
  13. Who is concerned with street legality IN SPACE? The lunar rover was operated, driven, and had a practical, intended use-- it wasn't just a publicity stunt. Lunar Landing Hoaxers in 3....2....1....
  14. Saw them on eBay last night...got outbid. I'm not even sure they are a replica of a real wheel, though. Have to do more digging, I guess. Maybe they are these?:
  15. Anybody know which kit(s) these Halibrand(?) wheels are from?:
  16. Thanks for the offer, Tom-- I may take you up on that in the future. Looking at the GM Heritage pages for the '46s, your 4109 (model?) is the largest without the added frame bracing.
  17. Those are on clearance at Meijer for $16.xx or so.
  18. They are similar in style, but definitely different. Maybe they are a modern interpretation to the original Halibrand wheels?

  21. The AMT '65 Buick Riviera was molded in eye-searing yellow, too: ...and the '70 Dodge Challenger R/T, too:
