  1. Interesting subject and kit. I'm watching.
  2. The dragster is looking great. Nice paint and detailing.
  3. Awesome car. The build is coming along nicely.
  4. There is a 1/12 Ferrari mid-fifties grand prix car posted here Ferrari D50 MFH 1/12 - Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers - Model Cars Magazine Forum . That will give you an idea of what they are all about.
  5. Wow! Stunning model. You have done a fantastic job on this build. The weathering is very well done, and brings the model to life. Interesting about the canted engine position. Excellent work all around.
  6. Thanks for this effort. It's a good service to the forum. I hadn't previously seen this thread. Nice work on this old kit.
  7. Nice work, especially given the rudimentary kit you started with. Looks nice posed with the Boomerang, too. It's good to see these Maseratis built.
  8. Nice build. I love these little Alpines. Looks good in white.
  9. It may take a couple tries to learn the ropes of this technique, but it really is easy. Try it on a scrap body. Steve Guthmiller did a tutorial on the subject, but I can't seem to find it right now.
  10. Agreed. More often now, if it's an old-tool kit with a weak and lacking engine bay, I just glue the hood shut.
  11. Nice looking sb Ford. Significant difference in size over the AMT offering. So much better overall. Interesting about the lack of oil filter on the 29. Are you going to use the same Webers on the new manifold?
  12. Ah yes, I like it very much. A lovely, clean build of an interesting car. Very cool!
  13. Nailed it, Mike. Looks spot on. Perhaps the best Richie Evans Pinto I've seen yet. Where did you source the tires & wheels?
  14. Very cool! I've really been digging the old, brass era stuff lately. This is a particularly interesting subject. Nicely done.
  15. Nicely done. The colour looks pretty close to the real thing. I recently bought one of these, and have seen a few show up on the board lately. For a very basic kit, they look great on the shelf.
  16. Sorry to hear about the problems with the paint. Especially since that green shade looked perfect. The problem you encountered is that you can't polish metallic paints without applying a clear coat first. Doing so cuts into the paint layer and exposes the metallic particles, with the exact result that you experienced. The best thing to do it apply clear over the green, then polish the clear. Some paints are worse than others, and that shade of green really shows bared metallic bits. That's too bad, but the final paint job turned out great, and it's a good looking colour, too.
  17. Nice looking Galaxie. I love the 69s with the hidden headlights, and nothing cooler than a Galaxie with a 4-speed.
  18. The paint looks fantastic. Nice recovery.
  19. Very nice work. That's a fine looking Cobra. I've always thought this kit a curiosity in the Monogram line-up. I would like to have seen this series of 1/43 kits expanded.
  20. Interesting project. I've been searching for Maserati Merak and Bora kits lately, so very interested in this build. Many thanks for the heads-up on the variations in Airfix boxed kits, I'll keep an eye out for that. The kit you're working on is certainly a rough kit. The modifications and details you are doing look great. Makes a huge difference. I'll be following along.
  21. Look for insulated wire with the right size, sheen and texture. I recommend wire with a solid, single-strand wire (as opposed to multi strand wire). It holds its shape better when bent to shape. Also, by baring a short length of the copper wire on the end, and drilling a correspondingly sized hole at the attachment point, it is easy to install and fix in place with a little CA.
  22. Cool project. It's coming along nicely.
  23. Man, that thing looks good! You did a great job on this build. It sits perfectly. Excellent work.
  24. Very cool! I like it.
